Deletion of Mashaal Durrani change
Hi. Early you deleted the page Mashaal Durrani without no explanation. What was the resion for deleting this article? -- Shivam_Roy (talk) 10:08, 1 September 2016b (UTC)
- If you look at the red box when you go to the article, you will see that the article was deleted due to QD G11 (advertising). Example of promotional content:
“ |
He is famous for his shemagh look on Instagram and Twitter. He will be seen in 2 upcoming projects. His performance in Hum_Tum_Dushman_Dushmanwas very appreciated. Although he didn’t want to debut with film on war like Hum_Tum_Dushman_Dushman but he did and said he learnt a lot from it. |
” |
- I also want to mention that some of the cited sources do not support the statements in the article (for example, source 7 does not say anything about this actor's social networking accounts).
- You may want to read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not for more information. Feel free to create the article again if you can write it in a more objective manner. Chenzw Talk 04:53, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Chenzw removes typo correction change
Bohr model contains the name "Neils Bohr" which is wrong and should be Niels Bohr instead. I corrected it but Chenzw classified the edit non-helpful and reverted it. I only correct once in a blue moon, but it's sad that I am not trusted for that. Hopefully this bot helps more overall in terms of vandalism then it keeps people from contributing. --84.168.209.206 (talk) 16:47, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- Don't get worked up: it was a bot which reverted you, not a person! I know it's annoying, but you can see it's not an issue of trust, just a limitation of an automatic routine. Macdonald-ross (talk) 20:02, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

Recent changes

- Interactive maps now have a frame by default. This is to make them look like other multimedia objects. This affects all Wikivoyages, the Catalan, Hebrew, Macedonian Wikipedias and Meta. [2]
- When you preview the MediaWiki:Captcha-ip-whitelist page it will show a validation output of the listed IP addresses instead of the list of addresses only. This can help you to identify if your whitelist rules will work or not. [3]
Changes this week
- You will be able to use
<maplink>
on all Wikipedias. It creates a link to a full screen map. [4][5] - Sometimes when you mention another user they don't get a notification. You will be able to get a notification when you successfully send out a mention to someone or be told if they did not get a notification. This will be opt-in. [6][7]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 6 September. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 7 September. It will be on all wikis from 8 September (calendar).

Future changes
- The CheckUser extension could work differently in the future. There is a Request for Comments to figure out how. [8]

False positive; bot change
The bot made this edit, but it was a false positive. The IP had updated 2016 by moving some predicted events to the dates they actually occurred. It was done in three edits. The third edit, which deleted the material from the "predicted events" section apparently triggered the bot to revert the changes. Regards, Etamni | ✉ | ✓ 12:08, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- I have added that diff to the bot's training set. Thank you! Chenzw Talk 23:56, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
Regarding this diff, I'm curious why the bot dropped the warning level. A week ago, the same IP vandalized the same article, twice, and was warned by the bot the first time, and by me the second. When the user again vandalized the same article today, the bot issued another level 1 warning. Seems odd, but maybe there is a reason... Etamni | ✉ | ✓ 03:12, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- The warning level decays after a while (iirc, after 2 days from the last warning on the talk page). In this case, it dropped from level 2 to 1. Chenzw Talk 04:34, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

FYI, you've been mentioned at m:User talk:Turkeybutt JC#Unblock request. The section after that one indicates that the situation may resolve itself soon anyway, but I thought I'd let you know. --Auntof6 (talk) 19:04, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oh yes, I have been taking note of his crosswiki rants. His global account has been locked, so hopefully this is the end of it. (or, socks...?) Chenzw Talk 23:24, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
