Tests belong at Wikipedia:Sandbox. If you see someone else who seems to testing things out on random pages, you might try writing {{subst:test}} on their talk page which gives them a little warning and tells them to go to the sandbox. You can see the text here. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 08:21, 16 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

New pages

Write the name of the page in bold (fat) writing. See how to do this in Help:How_to_edit#Bold_text -- aflm 19:57, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

from en:

Please don't copy material from en: directly here. Articles must use Simple English, otherwise it makes extra work for someone later. -- Netoholic @ 16:27, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Instead of [[category:Medicine]], use [[category:Diseases]] for this kind of article. -- aflm 16:18, 5 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

en template

About your message on my talk, the message I left on Symbiosis is already a template message. Just type {{en}}. I thought you meant creating another one for articles copied over but not fully simplified.

Thanks for adding the pic and the redir--I don't know why I didn't think of that. Freshstart 07:52, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

User messages

Don't use all user template messages together. Use {{subst:anon}} if a user IP made a good edit, {{subst:welcome}} to new registered users and {{subst:test}} to users who made tests on articles. -- 19:59, 20 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, did you know you left comments on Tiago's home page? They should probably be moved to his talk page, just for propriety sake. Also, why not pop by the administrator page and vote for me if you think I would make an admin. Thanks, Blockinblox 22:16, 1 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Comment requested

Hi Eptalon, As an active editor on SEWikipedia, I would like you to comment on Wikipedia talk:Simple English Wikipedia (the last section), since it is regarding how SEWikipedia is run and how it should be run. This discussion is also related to Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not, where I wouldn't mind your comments also, especially on the section regarding SEWiktionary. Thanks!--Cromwellt|talk 23:24, 8 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Spelling errors

If you find spelling really difficult, you can install the Google toolbar. It works on Firefox and IE, and it spellchecks words entered in forms, so it will check Wikipedia articles on the edit screen. But you'll need to install the English version, it might automatically divert you to another language when you try to install if you are not in an English-speaking country. New Main Page

Hello. Could you write here what you think about this version of Main Page ? ~Greets 16:04, 19 March 2006 (UTC) (odder.Reply

It's me one more time. I've got a question: what's with my version of the Main Page ? It's done (heh :P), but you (all of admins) didn't replace it. Why ? odder 14:10, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I realize that you may be disappointed, but I wanted to let you know why I've closed your nomination without promoting you. I think that Freshstart raised some valid concerns during the course of it - concerns I also shared. I don't feel like you concidered his feedback as constructive, which is how they were meant. I encourage you to continue working here, and ask that you take the advice given and be a little more diligent. In this, I feel like we should just close the discussion for now. Please feel free nominate yourself sometime in the future, or perhaps ask someone else to look at your improved work and sponsor a future nomination. -- Netoholic @ 07:14, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Babel boxes

The Babel boxes have been revamped to conform to a new accepted scheme. Please recreate your boxes or change the references to fit with the new standard format. The old boxes will be deleted. Ask me any questions on my talk page. Thanks! --Cromwellt|talk 01:35, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Would you mind taking a look at my WikiReader proposal on Wikipedia:Simple talk? I think it could be a fantastic way to go for the Simple English encyclopedia. Archer7 15:56, 1 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Babel templates

Please redirect the old templates to the new ones (Category:Users_by_language_-_Latin to Category:User la, etc). -- aflm (talk) 17:02, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not copy any articles (or parts of articles) directly from en. It is not good enough to just copy the introduction of an article and call it a "stub" - every word and phrase must be translated into Simple English. In looking at some recent contributions of yours, it seems you are still not following this guideline. Articles like KGB, FSB (Russia), International Nuclear Event Scale are examples of what needs to be avoided. I understand that you want to contribute here, but perhaps you need to concentrate more on improving the articles we already have, rather than copying to create new ones. Work on the more "basic" articles - ones that are in the more general knowledge topics. We REALLY need to make those better. -- Netoholic @ 03:35, 20 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I would appreciate your comments on Simple talk regarding User:Netoholic. Netoholic has claimed that my actions were inappropriate, and I would like to know what you think. Archer7 | talk 10:13, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nice meeting you. I shall surely keep this in view in future. As regards the new pages already created by me, I shall add few words more in a day or two, and shall do as advised by you. BTW, I did not created links, sometimes intentionally, and sometimes as the articles were jsut micro-stub. I will be more attentive to these aspects in future. I think I have not used simple English while talking to you! Thanks. --Bhadani 17:53, 11 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reducing Dvorak pic. I struggled with that but did not know how to do it (added "thumb" but did not think of deleting "frame"). Now I know, and have fixed Schűtz! Hikitsurisan 08:09, 18 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

You are one of the better Wikipedia sysops!

Coming to your page after so many weeks. I saw the Printing press. Nice work. --Bhadani 15:34, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I will try to make Indian independence movement more simple. In case, you find some time, even a small help or suggestions are most welcome. --Bhadani 16:33, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I thank you for your message. To be frank, I was aware that the article is not so simple as it should be, and you did a right thing. I being an Indian am aware of the history of India (though not an expert} and I shall surely try to make the page as simple as it should be here. We all shall make this simple wikipedia a real wikipedia in "Simple English" which many people would easily understand. Regards. --Bhadani 15:40, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reveting that. I was really steamed when I saw that. I'd give anything to thank you. Waht should we do with him/her? --Kimmy 23:39, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandal for using a nast rumor saying "Bitch is what I call this user: (Me) and she has crazy sex with her boyfriend Tom! GO FUCK." It hurt me really and now I'm steamed. --Kimmy 23:48, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hey, Kimmy, a personal attack is a personal attack. You can't really do much by way of revenge. The next time he/she vandalises then he/she will get blocked, but for now, don't take it personally. It's just some bully somewhere who was steamed that you and I reverted his/her vandalism. Don't let it get to ya. :) T. Moitie - Talk - Esperanza 23:52, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Oh, okay. How do you catch vandals so fast? Do you have a recent changes chart? I will be visiting England soon so If I ever talk to you again, e'll be on the same schedule (right?) i call 71 (etc) the SEWNGI. (Soon-gee)--Kimmy 23:58, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Thanks to that, I reverted the blanking of the page. See history and click on the second newest change by Anita936 or something like that. --Kimmy 00:07, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Anita has created a sockpuppet named Anita 9361 rocks. Just block it. She going much too far to me. --Kimmy 00:17, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Travelling Salesman Problem

Travelling Salesman Problem is very unsimple. Please fix it, dont leave it for others to do the work. -- Netoholic @ 02:52, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Untagged as unsimple. May need a little bit more clean up though. I've checked most of the spelling and I hope I didn't miss any others. Kindly clarify what you mean by "If there is a way to make the problem smaller, the smaller problems will be at least as hard as the original one". I think you mean, "break the problem down into smaller problems". But I'm not a subject matter expert so I may be wrong. Thanks! zephyr2k 11:41, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, the topic is really complex as it is. Maybe we can make it easier to understand by making articles out of the red links. For example, knowledge about factorials seems to be needed to better understand this. It's been so long since I've studied this though. Might not be able to help much. I'll do what I can to copyedit though. Anyway, happy editing! zephyr2k 01:09, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
