Your edit notice

change
@Thegooduser: Thank you! By the way, I am not having any trouble logging in at this point. The reason why I did that was because it was intended to be a test editnotice, or I was trying to make that the editnotice for User:FdPATgg/sandbox, but I can't use User:FdPATgg/sandbox/Editnotice, and Template:Editnotices/Page/User:FdPATgg/sandbox can only be created or edited by template editors. I thought that since it was unlikely that anyone would try to edit my userpage, I used that as my test editnotice. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 02:52, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Do you want an admin to hide your IP address? You edited with that to make the help notice, so if you want your IP removed, let me know, and I'll contact an admin for you. Go to User:FdPATgg/Editnotice, if you want to make an edit notice for your userpage and user talk page (just click on the "talk" tab section of the editnotice page to do so). I don't think you can directly make an edit notice for your sandbox. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 02:56, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Thank you for asking, and I don't need the IP hidden at this point because logging isn't a problem for me anymore. Is there a way for me to create a test editnotice? Because I would like help making an editnotice for both my user and user talk pages, but I would also like to experiment with editnotices in some way. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 02:59, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Just do it in your sandbox, that's the only way I know of --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:00, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Ok, thank you! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:02, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

No problem! If you need any help in the future, you can ask at Simple Talk, or leave a message on my talkpage! I hope you enjoy Wikipedia! --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:03, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Thegooduser: Thank you! I really like talking with others about Wikipedia and I am definitely enjoying the place very much! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:06, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Of course there is also the English Wikipedia, but I edit here, because the English Wikipedia is too big and complex for me. Here it's nice and simple! :) --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:08, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: There is also Simple English Wiktionary which you can edit. Simple English Wikibooks and Simple English Wikiquote are read-only and have been closed. If you were logged in before the closure of any projects, you may still log in and change your preferences. BTW, can you also help me in giving me an example of a good user and user talk editnotice? Thank you! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:12, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
I didn't know that there were some projects in Simple English that are closed! I wish I could have helped out so they would have not been closed. For the edit notices, do you like, just text, or template style edit notices? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:14, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: I would prefer template style ones. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:19, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

┌────────────────┘
BTW, if you would like something similar to Simple English Wikibooks, you may wish to contribute in the Wikijunior section of English Wikibooks. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:22, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

(change conflict) look here, never mind the colors, do you like something like that? We can play with the colors and font after --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:23, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: I love something like that. Thank you! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:25, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Do you want me to copy and paste it all in your sandbox, and you can change it up? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:27, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Sure, but maybe change it up a little bit so I can have an easier time getting started. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:28, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
What color do you want on it? I'll remove all the texts on it too. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:29, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

┌────────────────┘
Maybe dark red or blue. I would suggest you keep some of the words on it so I can modify it that way. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:31, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yep, one second while I bring it over here! --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:32, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Thank you! Feel free to erase the contents of my sandbox and replace it with the editnotice! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:33, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Copy and paste from here, I could not figure out how to make the background blue, but I made the border blue. Best --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:39, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Thank you very much! So do I just use the same editnotice for user and user talk page? Or do I switch the format for both? --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:40, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
You can change the text if you want, but the template itself, is the same. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:41, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

No Problem! (We're flooding New Changes, now you have a sense, of how calm this wiki is) --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:44, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Thank you! BTW, I have a question about Wikipedia I've wondered for a while, unrelated to editnotices. Not sure if you know the answer to this, but do you know what the difference is between Special:History and Special:PageHistory? Both are page histories, but I can't figure out what the actual difference is. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:47, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Special:History is a dead link --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:48, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Special:History only works when followed by a slash to an existing page. Try this: Special:History/Example. It seems that Special:History is intended for mobile view, and Special:PageHistory is intended for desktop view. Not sure if my hypothesis is correct. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:51, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I think that's the case. Not to be rude, but we are flooding New Changes and it's almost time for me to go to bed, so if you have any more questions, best to wait a few hours before posting it (or wait until our names go away from New Changes. You can also email me questions if you want. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 03:54, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Twinkle

change
@Thegooduser: Thank you for letting me know about Twinkle, can we get started? --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 20:51, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
No Problem! What do you mean by 'get started'? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 20:52, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: "getting started" would mean knowing about a set of js/css coding that I can put in my personal settings page. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 20:52, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have no experience with code, sorry. Though, you should be careful of what code you put in your userscripts.--Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 20:56, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Ok, I guess I'll look at WP:Twinkle and kind of look at some appropriate codes to put in my userpage. Thank you for your introduction, though! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 20:57, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Twinkle is for editing Wikipedia, it doesn't really help to design pages, except that it contain categories for tagging, etc. Are you talking about how you want your userpage to look? --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 20:58, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: I want to try out Twinkle and enable it, but not for my user page in this moment. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 21:00, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

┌───────────────────┘
Twinkle once enabled, will give you a tab that says "TW" on the top right of the vector skin. Twinkle will not effect your userpage, if you don't use it on your userpage. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 21:02, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Thegooduser: I had noticed that, thank you for letting me know! Unfortunately, I cannot use Twinkle yet since my account is too new, but I will once I become autoconfirmed. Thank you! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 21:11, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
You will be autoconfirmed in about 3 days from now --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 21:12, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, FdPATgg. You have new messages at FdPATgg's talk page.
Message added 21:03, 11 November 2020 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

What's your username? I'm on there sometimes, we can chat there if we start flooding new changes. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:04, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: I’ll just use FdPATgg. Also, what’s yours? What does “flooding new changes” mean? FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 01:06, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Special:RecentChanges, contain a list of the new changes to this wiki. There is a minimum of 50 changes, If we keep talking here, we will jam it with our edits, making it very hard for other editors to patrol the new changes for spam, vandalism, etc. I believe the most changes one can make with no flood flag is 100 changes. With the flood flag, you can make new changes, and they will not show up on new changes, now here's the sticky wicked (I guess) -- The flood flag, can only be used for very minor changes, and is removed once you are done, and you cannot do any other edits under the flood flag, then what's it assigned for, even when you are finished the task, you may not do any other editing, until the userright for the flood flag is removed (expired). The flood flag is requested at WP:AN. This talk page discussion does not qualify for the flood flag in anyway. Now, my IRC nick is realthegooduser, but click on my username there, and you should see 'thegooduser@wikipedia' or something similar as the cloak, if you see an IP address as the cloak, then it is not me. I'm not on IRC a lot. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:12, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: Ok, and thanks for letting me know! --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 01:42, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Thegooduser: By the way, what is the purpose of Special:CNReporter? It seems like a useless special page that just blanks your screen. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 01:45, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

┌───────────────────────┘
I wouldn't go clicking on random special pages, you could break something, although you can't pretty much can't do much damage if you're not an Adminstrator, it's best to not go looking/clicking to random special pages, if unsure ask at Simple Talk, because I don't know what it is. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:48, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Thegooduser: Ok, but why could I break something when I click on random special pages? I thought that wasn't possible. --FdPATgg 😃 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 01:49, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
It really depends, as mentioned, if you are not an Adminstrator, then there's a low chance you could damage something. But its not likely that you'll do damage. The only damage you can do to your own account, is putting random userscripts that you don't know what they are. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:52, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
And be careful you don't trip the Special:AbuseFilter, when looking at special pages. That's why I say not to go looking at random special pages. --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:55, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've never tripped the Abuse Filter when looking at Special Pages, and I don't know if that's possible, but I'm just letting you know --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 01:56, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
