Hi there.

I have a possible translation request. Can you maybe translate the article Lancet MMR autism fraud from en.wiki, please? Thanks. Derpdart56 (talk) 15:30, 1 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm a bit busy this week to be creating new pages, but I will try and simplify that some time soon. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 17:25, 1 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Alrighty then. Derpdart56 (talk) 14:40, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Derpdart56, looks like a bit of a complex page to create. I think I'll have a bit more time now and I'll see if I can create it within the next few days. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 17:12, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Okie dokie. Derpdart56 (talk) 17:16, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Talk page foul language

Hi, can you please delete the diffs from 93.143.73.189 and 93.143.105.184 on my talk page? It contains foul language and sensitive info. Nehme1499 (talk) 13:59, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I completely forgot to respond to this. As you've seen, I think I have deleted most, if not all, of the revisions eligible for RevDel but if you still think some more should be deleted, please let me know. --Ferien (talk) 15:20, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, he's back again. Can you please delete this diff, and protect my page? He's cross-wiki abusing again (with multiple IPs). Nehme1499 (talk) 11:06, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
All done. :) --Ferien (talk) 16:09, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Closing RfDs

Hi Ferien. I'm here to ask that if I am allowed to close any RfD? For instance, I wanted to close Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/RAJWADE SOCIETY CHHATTISGARH because the article has already been QDed by an admin, but I thought that I might be breaking any guideline. Seeking your advises. Thanks. ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:12, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@TheAafi: Hello, usually if an article has been deleted by an admin and they forgot to close, you could close it yourself, but otherwise, non-admins shouldn't close RfDs. I closed this one. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 17:15, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request to import

Hi! Can I ask you to import some templates from enwiki? They are en:WP:Template:IPA pulmonic consonants and en:WP:Template:IPA non-pulmonic consonants. Both of them depend customs CSS styles. The current template that we have isn't up to par with other wikis. --*Fehufangą✉ Talk page12:28, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Done Thanks for finding that. --Ferien (talk) 16:17, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't think the import work, as the page seems to have stayed the same. Should I just try importing it manually? --*Fehufangą✉ Talk page00:53, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, I'm not sure why that didn't work. Tymewalk has imported it manually. Thanks. --Ferien (talk) 07:14, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Import Request

Can you please import en:Template:pagelinks to this wiki? Thank you, Sir. Bobherry (talk) 00:54, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Bobherry: I've redirected the page to Template:La for now, I think that'll work for now. --Ferien (talk) 07:17, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Bobherry (talk) 11:16, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

110.150.13.4

Hey, thanks for the block on that IP, but would you mind extending it to at least a month? I made it three months on enwiki. It's block evasion, self-admitted. I'll probably request a global block later. Thanks! Graham87 (talk) 11:00, 11 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

  Done, thanks :) --Ferien (talk) 11:20, 11 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Import (to IP talk page)

Hi Ferien! Would it please be possible if you or any other admin, imports the following to my talk page (a talk page for IP-user)? I can remove that import from my talk page, as soon as I polish and release that article:

https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stortingsvalget_2021_i_Finnmark (The article is about the Parliamentary Election in Finnmark - a province until 2020. That place is scheduled to become a province again during the current "four-year period of Parliament".)--FWIW: i am planning (for later) to consider making a stub of Politics ... Norway. Regards! 89.8.114.155 (talk) 14:25, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Thank you for your request. However, to have a subpage or a sandbox, you'll need to register an account. If you do register an account and create a sandbox, simply copy and pasting to your sandbox and saying where it's from in the edit summary is acceptable. Thanks for understanding, --Ferien (talk) 14:48, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I am simply looking for an admin to dump a " < nowiki > text-file" on my talk page (and I can remove that text-file, as soon as I see it).--I advise anyone to start a user account on Wikipedia. 89.8.114.155 (talk) 15:11, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

blocked User Templates

hello @Ferien when you block a user you're placing these templates in accordance to their talk page can you send them to me please?   Thank you 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 21:12, 13 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppetry is not allowed in the Wikipedia. If you would like a block appeal, there is a page for that. Use that. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 21:44, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Feel free to email me regarding your accusation of admin abuse towards me, and the users involved. You've been blocked yourself for your bad username and trolling but if you think I've abused my tools, I am always open to discussion about that. --Ferien (talk) 21:53, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Transwiki importer

is it possible for me to request Transwiki importer on this wiki? i need the tool to import Templates and Modules on other wiki especially English wikipedia. 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 06:03, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) @Sakura emad: The editor must meet certain requirements:
Gain a local consensus
Have a minimum of three months on the project
Have a minimum of 200 mainspace edits on the project
Have a clear, specified task
Once all the requirements are met, a local bureaucrat will issue the flag. :The same user will remove the flag once the task is done.
With the importer tool, if you need it, get it. Once you are done, then give it back. Good luck! Haoreima (talk) 06:06, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
i know how the right works, i've requested it on other wiki and granted to me before, but in case if this wiki works differently that's why i asked @Ferien, i need the Transwiki Importer tool just to import templates and Modules. to clarify i'm familiar with this tool and i have it on CKB Wikipedia. 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 06:43, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello Sakura emad. Importer works quite differently here to how it does on other Wikipedias. The idea is that you request importer for a certain task and then it will be taken away when done. I believe you also need to have a consensus, in the past I have seen requests for importer formatted almost as RfAs (like Wikipedia:Requests for importer/USERNAME). I think you won't have a problem seeing as you have used it on ckbwiki. As long as you have a clear task I think you'll be good to request. --Ferien (talk) 13:30, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Importer is a very dangerous tool. For non-admins it is generally much preferred that they just do copy pastes with attribution. It is very easy to make very difficult to fix mistakes that become that much harder to fix if you are not an admin. I would strongly advise just following the copy/paste method of importing that pretty much all non-admins use. I especially would be hesitant when it is templates/modules they want to do it with. If there is something you want brought over you can even just ask me. -Djsasso (talk) 13:37, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Ferien i think there is a difference between Importer and Transwiki importer; i understand that importer is dangerous; i don't need or have any use of Uploading XML files and such; i am requesting Transwiki importer; it's just for importing template and modules from English Wikipedia; @Djsasso i use and used Transwiki Importer quite alot before, before becoming a sysop on ckb and after becoming one; i believe i know what i am doing that's why i want to request it. 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) (refactored) 15:35, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Transwiki importer is the one I am talking about, it is the one that is very dangerous. Well both are, but Transwiki importer is the one I am referring to. It is the importing of templates and modules which in particular is something I am concerned about. Trying to do that without the admin flag is problematic for cleanup when the inevitable mistake does happen. Using it on a small wiki like ckb and Simple are very different things. -Djsasso (talk) 15:39, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Djsasso: i think i know what you concerned about; but Mainly i want to import non-existing templates and modules, and as for existing ones; i only use copying and pasting method to update them :). (refactored) 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 16:33, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

That also isn't a reliable source. As long as you have reliable sources (typically not ones you can be edited) then you can be bold and make any change to Wikipedia, there's no need to check with me for everything... --Ferien (talk) 10:14, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Template:Politics_of_Italy

hello @Ferien i created Template:Politics_of_Italy, is it possible for me to request a QD to be deleted? as a creator of the template. 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 10:10, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes, G7 applies as long as no-one else has made any edits/significant contributions to it. --Ferien (talk) 10:11, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
thanks. 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 11:18, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Citation bot

Hello Ferein! The citation bot's alterations of urls change the search results (which are specially designed by me to get explicit results) are in fact really deteriorated. What shall I do? That bot has edited 40-50 articles I have edited last few weeks. Shall I revert the edits one by one though it will be very exhaustive for me? In some cases, unaware of its actions, I did some other edits in the articles it has edited. In such case, reverting will not be possible. I hope you can help me in restoring edits in such exceptional cases. Haoreima (talk) 14:18, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@AManWithNoPlan: Hello AManWithNoPlan! I wish to talk to you too. I can't come to English wikipedia because I am blocked there. So, please let's talk here for you kept a soft redirect at your simple English wikipedia user talk page! Haoreima (talk) 14:21, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello Haoreima, how do these alterations change the search results? I'm just trying to get more info here... --Ferien (talk) 14:26, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Here is one explicit example! This reference is the citation number 2 of the article Panam Ningthou before the bot's edit. Please see the reference number 2 of the article now as it's already altered by the bot. Haoreima (talk) 14:30, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Haoreima: I see, it is the same page though and the text is still visible, so I'm not sure whether it's a massive problem. I am not too skilled with citation things so I will let AManWithNoPlan comment. --Ferien (talk) 14:41, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sometimes, some editors comment randomly that a certain page is not reliable source when the information is not explicitly appeared. To avoid this, I especially designed the inner contents of most urls I added to the articles I edited. It's very important because sometimes, some information are located in the middle of a paragraph, that needs to be specially highlighted to appear explicitly. Else, editors (verifying editors for reliability of references) gave negative comments on such things. Haoreima (talk) 14:43, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Haoreima: Ok, I understand. I don't think it can be done on an image, but I've noticed some search engines have #text= or ?text= or something similar in the URL to highlight certain texts, I can't remember exactly how it's done right now though. --Ferien (talk) 14:48, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I can make it appear explicitly as I am always dealing with citations for the last few months. Shall we revert? Haoreima (talk) 14:51, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I concern links about Google Books and Internet Archive mainly. Google Books have either yellow highlighter or black boldings. archive.org has blue highlighter in ocr readable pages. Haoreima (talk) 14:53, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Those Google Books urls are somewhat unexpected form. I have fixed the bot, and the URL clean-up code will handle them correctly now. It has been running on English Wikipedia for years, and either no one cared or noticed or perhaps that specific URL formulation is rare. AManWithNoPlan (talk) 14:58, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have updated the bot talk page to point to my simple talk page, for those that do not want to head over to the main page. AManWithNoPlan (talk) 14:58, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@AManWithNoPlan: I could not understand what you mean by "URL clean-up code will handle them correctly now"? Do you mean the bot will do things correctly in future or the bot will rectify the deteriorated URLs once again? I am little bit confused. Haoreima (talk) 15:03, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Fixing the urls is not possible by bot, but I can easily do that by hand. Going forward URLs should be correct. AManWithNoPlan (talk) 15:41, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
