About the low-RAM devices

Hi Ferien, I recently came back after a long break. I am totally amazed that I can edit pages on Wikipedia on an Android tablet with only 512 MB of RAM, even on desktop version. This model is EBL71024, a 7 inch EGL tablet that runs Android 4.4, and I am using Chrome version 81 on this device. It is possible to edit Wikipedia on any device that has less than 512 MB of RAM? Thank you. BP001002004008 (talk) 21:00, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) Windows 10 PRO/Home from what I've heard can run on 512mb ram, so you likely can edit Wikipedia with that little ram. --Tsugaru let's talk! :) 01:15, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
I guess you could with a properly optimized operating system eg: Linux, its entirely possible and one person has probably tried it before. kolva | chat? 01:26, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) Hi, I have reviewed the changes and undone some as necessary. It appears to be a mix of good, bad, and some neutral changes. Thank you for bringing this to Ferien's (and my) attention, if you notice any further issues, feel free to be bold and change the articles yourself. Griff (talk) 02:09, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

User Deppiyy

Ferien, I added in the page of Turkey and Northern Cyprus under culter that circumcision of male is a big event etc. but this User Deppiyy changend it and claim I made vandalisim.

Why is this Vandalism, when I got information of a important part in the culture ?

Please have a Look.

It seems the only one who made Vandalisim is this User Deppiyy itself

--Nalanidil (talk) 23:37, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) I can see this being misread as vandalism. It also was perhaps not a very suitable place to put it. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 23:43, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Nalanidil: Sorry for the late reply to this, I actually thought I had replied to it earlier but my internet has been bad recently so clearly the reply didn't save. Please try bringing up this problem on Deppiyy's user talk page first and try and resolve the issue with them first. Thank you for understanding. --Ferien (talk) 17:17, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
No this User Deppliyy now is against ALL what I wrote, I wrote on Admins Griff talk page about this problem.
This is enough yet. As long such Users are active in wikipedia, it doesnt made fun two wrote.
This user all changend, all sources he changend, but this user didnt give any source.
No, its ok, Im out of this, this user can do what he want, change or delete. Nalanidil (talk) 17:25, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

A very important part in the Turkish Culture is the circumcision of boys, so why is it not allowed to mentioned under culture? and why it is considered as vandalism? I cant understand.

--Nalanidil (talk) 23:45, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

If it’s important, then a new article should be made, a relevant article exist on English Wikipedia en:Khitan_(circumcision). Deppiyy (talk) 17:38, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Deppiyy: We can choose to create a page that doesn't exist on the English Wikipedia if the community feels differently about the page. --Ferien (talk) 07:14, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Deletion

Why did you request for deletion of my page?197.248.126.109 (talk) 09:43, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I can't see any pages that you have created. Could you please tell me the page you created that has been requested for deletion? --Ferien (talk) 09:45, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
I think they meant the Bannacis universe page, I was the one who requested G4 deletion. --*Fehufangą✉ Talk page23:03, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
If you were indeed talking about the page Fehufanga mentioned, there was a consensus to delete it at requests for deletion, which you can see here. --Ferien (talk) 07:13, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikiquote's preparation

Hello Ferien! I want to come to Wikiquote! But before editing there, I was checking on the list of admins and I found you! :-) Well, is the following passage notable or eligible for the entry to Wikiquote?

It was the time of setting sun when the bright light on the face of the hills deceased, and the rising smoke in the hills gradually receded to meet the rising smoke from the plain.

Panthoibi was unaware of the whereabouts of Nongpok Ningthou and in her helpless condition she beseeched the tall trees of the hills and the leafy ones of the plains to help her find her beloved.[1]

Haoreima (talk) 05:58, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's not a private/personal literary work of someone. It's a passage of an ancient oral folksong! However, the English translation is done by someone. Haoreima (talk) 06:00, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello Haoreima, which page would this quote be added to? --Ferien (talk) 19:57, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Probably if possible, we can create a new page named "Panthoibi" for goddess Panthoibi. I am inspired by the existence of many Wikiquote pages on Greek deities. Haoreima (talk) 04:42, 19 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Is it allowed? Haoreima (talk) 04:27, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello Haoreima. Apologies I forgot to reply to your message. I don't see many issues, apart from the length; I feel the quote could be a bit too long. --Ferien (talk) 12:02, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
I thought you might be busy. Well, it's ok. Btw, do you mean it's not good enough to make an article? Is Lengthiness an issue? Haoreima (talk) 13:07, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Haoreima, as in the quote may be too lengthy to put into an article, not that it's not good enough. You could always be bold and create the page, someone will probably fix it if they feel it is too long. --Ferien (talk) 14:18, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh and another thing, no need to apologize, you have not done anything wrong. After all, you are my pal! :-) Haoreima (talk) 04:26, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
