Welcome!

Some cookies to welcome you!

Hello, I am Magnolioideae and welcome to Wikipedia, Haumeon! Thank you for your changes. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions check out Wikipedia:Questions, or send me a message on my talk page. I like to help new people, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like Wikipedia and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Maggie🌺 talk edit 18:57, 12 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I love Wikipedia and I am definitely going to stay! Also thanks for telling me about the tilde thing, though I learned it by now.
Sincerely, Haumeon the Adventurer

Also, if you want to learn how to create an article, I'd suggest you read How to write Simple English pages, Citing sources, Cheatsheet (you'll get used to not using it overtime), then finally, the Article Wizard. Have a great day and happy editing! Maggie🌺 talk edit 19:14, 12 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Alright! I'll be working mostly in WikiProject Astronomy (and bringing it back to life...it's been dead for years now) and WikiProject Anti-Vandalism. There aren't too many pages about astronomy here, so I guess sooner or later I'll have to create one; thanks again! Haumeon (talk) 19:20, 12 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

August 2024

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Just in case you didn't know, when you post messages on talkpages and Wikipedia pages, such as you did in "Template talk:Did you know", you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ("~~~~") at the end of your message. You can also click on the signature button (  or  ), located in the edit toolbar, which is above the change window. This will put a signature containing your user name or IP address and the time you posted the message. This information is useful because other users will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! VirusDontKill (talk) 05:12, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Oh, thanks for the reminder! Though the heading of the post kinda scared me...I thought I had vandalised unknowingly or something. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 05:14, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I should have left a more personal message. Thanks for adding your signature! VirusDontKill (talk) 05:17, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's fine. Though I was initially a bit shocked by the speediness of your post...I thought you were a bot or something. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 05:18, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
The message is from a template and I added it via Twinkle so that's why it was so fast. VirusDontKill (talk) 05:20, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I know about Twinkle, but I was shocked because just a few seconds after I put the comment, you answered. Most of the time it would take a few minutes at least. Also about the citation problem, I didn't notice the citiation was not about the Santa thing, so I'll go find another fact. I'm not too good at citations. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 05:21, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's okay, there was a source on the enwiki article for that fact, so I've added it to Haumea. Someone else can approve it now, unless you'd rather use a different fact. VirusDontKill (talk) 05:25, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, I also found one about Saturn's biggest moon Titan. Perhaps the others could choose between the two. I would personally choose the newer one, though I think the Haumea fact has potential. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 05:31, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Replying to Article

Hello! First, I don't think you can get references from the same place over and over, and also, an official book website probably can't be used as a reference. Because I'm busy with an article of my own right now, I will put a few tags on it so it can be found on the Wikipedia backlog. Hope this helps. Maggie🌺 talk edit 19:23, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Alright, thanks. Even the enwiki one was pretty bad, so thanks. I'll try to find better sources. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 19:30, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Question: For plot summaries, do I need references? 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 19:31, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You're supposed to use references so people can believe it's true. In order for your summary to be taken as true, you'd need references. Hope this helps! Maggie🌺 talk edit 19:46, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 19:48, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just so you know, I reviewed your nomination. Maggie🌺 talk edit 19:50, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Left A Comment

Hi. Instead of giving you a nomination, I gave you a comment, but I still like the hook. Maggie🌺 talk edit 21:46, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think I would nominate two facts then. One is about the moon being bigger than Mercury, and the other about having a subsurface ocean. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 21:49, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I saw the one about the ocean and nominated that. Are there any more questions? I'm about to log off in ten minutes. Maggie🌺 talk edit 21:51, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No, fine. I guess I'll go new changes patrolling or article fixing. Thanks! 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 21:54, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Happy editing! Maggie🌺 talk edit 21:54, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Also, one question. How do I archive my talk page? 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 21:56, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello! Archiving is very simple. There are two kinds. Which do you want to learn, bot or manual? Maggie🌺 talk edit 21:57, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Whichever is more efficient and interesting. I like bots and programming, so maybe the bot method. Though I thought bots were restricted to admins and all that stuff 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 22:01, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, so here's what you need.
Note: Don't save it before changing the stuff!
{{User:MiszaBot/config
|archive = User talk:YourUsername/%(year)d/%(monthname)s
|algo = old(how old?)
|counter = 1
|minthreadsleft = How many do you want it to archive?
|minthreadstoarchive = At least how many messages should there be in order to archive?
}}
Note: ONLY CHANGE THE THINGS THAT ARE ITALIC. Maggie🌺 talk edit 22:05, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Should I do it for you? Maggie🌺 talk edit 22:06, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Do I put it in a common js file or where? 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 22:07, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
On the talk page. Should I do it for you instead? Maggie🌺 talk edit 22:10, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, that would be good. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 22:11, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 22:15, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Finished. Added archives box and header. It's set for 48 hours. Soon, a bot will be up and running! If you have any other questions, leave them on my talkpage as I'm logging off now. Bye! Maggie🌺 talk edit 22:16, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

More Sources

Hello! By any chance, could you add some more references to Eraser? I'm a bit busy with new articles. Maggie🌺 talk edit 21:06, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Well, I am working on that article, so yeah, I'll try to find some. Yw 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 21:12, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also, there are a lot of excessive photographs there. Can you try and some of those (without starting an edit war with the IP who keeps putting them up?) Maggie🌺 talk edit 21:14, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, there is a source backing up the DYK nomination sentence already, so I'll start with the photos. (Update: There is some unfixable, weird bug on my computer that never lets me see Wiki images, so I don't know what to do)🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 21:15, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello Haumeon, was the logged-out edit made to this page intentional? If so, would you like your IP address be hidden? — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 08:26, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes. I accidentally set the wikibreak enforcer script too long and I wanted to edit, so I used my IP. THanks. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 22:38, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just to be clear, you are fine with using your IP address, right? If you are, then I won't hide it. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 11:51, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, yes, I am fine with using it. I just want a way that if I am logged out for some reason and can't get back in, others will associate my IP adress with my account. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 16:01, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey there, Haumeon! Here are a few good ideas that you can use to help making articles in the future:

  • If the article that you made is under 1,500 characters, please add the {{stub}} template into the article near the end (below the "Other websites" section, and below any categories). This will let other editors know that it is a short article that needs to be made longer.
  • If you have no idea what categories an article that you begin should go under, please add the {{uncat}} template to the article. This will let other editors know that you need help categorizing the article properly.

Thanks for reading this long message, and happy changing here on Simple English Wikipedia! – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 05:53, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The message is actually pretty short.
Thanks for the advice, but how would I know how many characters my article is? 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 06:00, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Minor comment

At User talk:2600:8803:B107:7D00:A14D:83B2:BB46:9568, I don't think they made any more bad pages after I gave them a level 3 warning. 2601:644:9083:5730:294A:5DB7:96CE:3220 (talk) 04:22, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Oh sorry, I was warning for the same page you were warning. It took me some time to find the right template. Either way, I think I should keep the lvl 4 warning in case the IP makes any more. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 04:23, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see they made another short article after you added the level 4 warning. Thanks for watching this! 2601:644:9083:5730:294A:5DB7:96CE:3220 (talk) 04:25, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and with all the useful changes you've made to the encyclopedia, and all the user warnings, ANI work, and QD templating, I really think you should get an account. Then, there will be a lot more things you can do, like voting in discussions, moving articles, using this super cool script called Twinkle and more!

Also the IP we are talking about seems to not care about the warnings, and get ready to report to VIP. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 04:26, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Year categories and popcat

Hi, Haumeon. Please stop adding the {{popcat}} template to categories for years. Some types of categories are allowed to have fewer than 3 entries, and that includes these categories. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 19:29, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ok. Thanks for the notice. I will go and remove the popcat templates from the years categories. 🪐 Haumeon the Adventurer 🪐 19:29, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. In the meantime, I noticed that you created Category:1913 works with only 2 entries. That type of category is not an exception to the 3-entry rule. Please don't create categories with too few entries unless you know for sure that they're exceptions. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 01:15, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

It's just decoration. You can check out the code at the bottom (press "edit source"). Also the lines are planets. If you look closely you can see they are rings around a planet.
