Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser

(Redirected from Wikipedia:SPI)
Latest comment: 3 hours ago by BRPever in topic Cyber Crime Break editing

CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IP addresses). Some administrators are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy.

On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.

Use of the tool

This tool is to be used to fight vandalism, to check for sockpuppet abuse, and to limit disruption of the project. It must be used only to prevent damage to the project.

The tool should not be used for political control; to apply pressure on editors; or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to check a user. Note that alternative accounts are not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of the policies (for example, to vote more than once or to make it look like more people support an idea). Checkusers will refuse a request, if the reason for checking is not good enough to warrant the use of the tool.

Please see the CheckUser policy for all the rules related to CheckUser.

The list of users with CheckUser access can be seen at: Special:ListUsers/checkuser.

Current requests

change

Dhadhor accounts again

change

After the previous CU request (Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Dhadhor_accounts) and content dispute, another account (2nd user) has joined the conflict.

The 3rd-5th users are already blocked in the previous request (by user:Bsadowski1) and w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rao Devilal Pratap.

The previous conflict was between the 1st and 3rd-5th users versus an IP range where the involvement of the 6th user is estimated. Please see the block log and related records of the 6th user (special:redirect/logid/2765016, w:special:redirect/logid/163138137, w:special:permalink/1234083914#Question_about_special:redirect/logid/163138137) and here/

The relation between the 6th and 7th user is explained in w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/R2dra.

Please note that the 2nd user aimed to restore previously removed statements in the intro (Dhadhor is ... Ahir or Yadav), please compare special:diff/9758784, special:diff/9585825, and special:diff/9575519 for example.

The 1st and 3rd-5th users are working to do the opposite of the above actions (removing the statement: "Dhadhor is ... Ahir or Yadav" and relevant references, see special:diff/9765543 and special:diff/9580657). Also, I have previously pointed out that the 3rd-5th users are using similar edit summaries as one of our former admins in Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Dhadhor_accounts. Please note that the 1st user started using the same kind of edit summary (please compare special:diff/9765543, special:diff/9580657, and special:diff/9570001). Recent problematic cross-namespace pagemovers

change

I would like to note that several users are moving non-userpages to userspace with similar tone (complicated language that may not make sense) and vice versa. The 2nd user has WP:ONESTRIKE for this reason. In w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Krishan avatar, an editor pointed out similarities between the 1st and 3rd user (who is equal to the 4th-11th user, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Behgal_Jats_accounts, Special:Diff/9737930, w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Truthfindervert, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Truthfindervert/Khalsajudicary). Both the 1st and 3rd user has interests in similar South Asian history topics, and have a history of problematic page moves (examples are explained in Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Behgal_Jats_accounts and Special:Diff/9737930). MathXplore (talk) 03:25, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please also note that the users like to move pages with semi-protection (especially the 1st and 2nd users). MathXplore (talk) 05:13, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I will also add Repulsive hegemony card (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log)) for doing similar page moves against semi-protected entries. MathXplore (talk) 00:20, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Return of Sockpuppet

change

The suspect, AlvaKedak is an sockpuppet of users which I had already reported here Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser#Personal Attacks & Disruptive Edits of Socks

  • AlvaKedak has created his account 3 hours ago and the first articles he edited were also edited by the sockpuppet [1]
  • AlvaKedak tries to remove the same content which the blocked socks tried to remove multiple times [2] Based Kashmiri (talk) 14:48, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am not a sockpuppet. I used to edit without an account (I am the IP user who created the Rashrakuta Empire Page), I made an account specifically so I could talk to @Based Kashmiri about the Pala Empire map and then from then on started editing using this account (there is a glitch that sometimes logs me out while I am in the middle of editing, I mentioned this in my user page).
I tried to remove that damned map because it was inaccurate, if you added it to the Regular Wikipedia page, it would be removed instantly and for good reason. I just want to preserve the integrity of this site.
Is this enough to clear my name, or do you need more proof ? Also "a sockpuppet" not "an sockpuppet", get that right at least. AlvaKedak (talk) 14:20, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
You still have not given a single reliable source which says that map (which is based on Oxford & Archeological Sources) is inaccurate, Even in the discussion at the talk page you failed to prove it.
“I tried to remove that damned map because it was inaccurate, if you added it to the Regular Wikipedia page, it would be removed instantly and for good reason. I just want to preserve the integrity of this site.”
I'm not replying this because you're being agnorant atp, see Wikipedia:Researching with Wikipedia. Based Kashmiri (talk) 18:13, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I will discuss the map later.
But has my name been cleared at least ? AlvaKedak (talk) 21:22, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Based Kashmiri still hasn't responded for for the past three days. I assume this either means that the sockpuppet allegations against me have been resolved, or they are busy with other things. AlvaKedak (talk) 19:54, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The user did however did state in the Commons: Deletion Request page for the map they created, that I am a long term sockpuppet who has been personal attacking them and creating disruptive edits in multiple wiki projects, I want to make it clear that these claims are entirely false. While I am not fully familiar with the entire situation, I did see that there are four other users listed below me, who I assume may have engaged in sockpuppetry and personally disliked this user. I would like to clarify that I am not associated with any of them. I have no personal animosity toward @Based Kashmiri; I simply have disagreements with them on the map that's all. AlvaKedak (talk) 19:57, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I can find no evidence to suggest that the user is engaging in sockpuppetry. Our database shows nothing. fr33kman 20:03, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well that's the end of that. Thank you @Fr33kman for looking into this situation.
And while I do disagree with @Based Kashmiri on the map, I do think it's unfortunate that the user has received personal attacks for reporting actual sockpuppetry, I hope they're doing alright. AlvaKedak (talk) 17:43, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Openfabric AI accounts

change

The 1st user is the author of this article and the 2nd user uploaded File:Openfabric.png. The 3rd user removed tags from the article (special:diff/9917531) and there is also an IP editor that did the same tag removal (special:diff/9917554). I believe there is an abuse of logout edits. MathXplore (talk) 14:08, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

The checks don't overlap. The data show that the user agent is the same but there is no IP overlap. Therefore we have to say it's not confirmed. fr33kman 02:33, 3 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Fr33kman: Thank you for the feedback, but I have an update for this case. A new user (Xuyna (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · SUL · CA · checkuser (log))) has appeared on the same page to remove maintainance tags (special:diff/9926118, special:diff/9926121). Can this be related? MathXplore (talk) 02:08, 6 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Again, the user agent is the same but there is no IP overlap. fr33kman 03:01, 6 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Cyber Crime Break editing

change

Cyber Crime Break was an article recreated multiple times by two now globally locked editors. Cyber Crime Break Org was created by an IP but then significant edits from AERCTANGE. They've removed QD and RFD tags multiple times [3], [4]. Same with Jaydatt Mahendra Khodave, [5]. There's also some promotional editing by Jaydatt Mahendra Khodave around The Blaze Times. Nyanzi Martin Luther accounts

change

I'm seeing several users and IPs advertising the same person. The 1st user did this in their user page, etc. (User:Bobobbtt and Example article name deleted by user:Fr33kman), and the 2nd user did this in Special:DeletedContributions/Katoproo. Please also see Special:AbuseLog/552768 and Special:AbuseLog/552781 for related abuse filter logs caused by IP users. MathXplore (talk) 02:02, 6 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Revisiting User:Nsochido

change

The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd user have CU-blocks based on Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archives/2024-11#Editors_removing_QD/RFD_templates_from_Pamela_N._Furr (done by user:BRPever), and the 1st user is now locked based on the activity overlap with the 4th and 5th user (CU-blocked by user:Bsadowski1) at w:Bashir Y Jamoh, where more blocked/locked users can be found. I recently found another new user (6th user) around them. The 6th user's only edit in enwiki was part of a content dispute in w:Sadique Abubakar, and the similarity between w:special:diff/1259096995 and w:special:diff/1258904266 show that the 1st and 6th user share the same intent. Please also note that there is another locked user (7th user) who joined editing w:Sadique Abubakar (w:special:diff/1254298990, only edit in enwiki), and the 7th user also has a CU-block in this project. Please also note that the 6th user's only creation in this project is Prophet Israel Oladele (pastor from Nigeria), which is another popular subject for the block evaders in this project (Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive21#Isaiah4christ, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive21#Isaiah_Oghenevwegba_Ogedegbe). Farsad (rapper) accounts

change

This report is related to this article, its RFD (Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2024/Farsad (rapper)), and its Wikidata item (d:Q127698895).

The 1st user is the author of the article, and the 4th user is named after the subject. The 4th user is mainly focused on RFDs, and while many of their opinions are w:WP:PERNOM-like comments, Special:Diff/9931930 shows a stronger interest than other RFDs. The 4th user also promoted the same subject in en:n:Special:Diff/4686264. In addition, the 1st and 4th user has activity overlaps at w:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fadaei (please see w:special:diff/1254060000 for example). Also, the 4th user made the same subject in enwiki (w:special:permalink/1254216483, w:special:redirect/logid/97419798, w:special:redirect/logid/122132706).

The 2nd user is another new participant that appeared in the RFD (Special:Diff/9910765), and this is their only one vote in RFDs as of today. The 2nd user recently requested assistance for page creation (User_talk:MathXplore/2024/11#25_November_2024), but in my opinion their RFD comment is very unusual for a user who may need assistance.

The 3rd user has a similar name to the 2nd user, they edited d:Q127698895 (Wikidata item for the article, d:special:diff/2280730600), and the 3rd user is locked as a LTA. MathXplore (talk) 12:55, 8 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

"Tito11 years" and "Luisraimundotito"

change

Hi, I believe the users Tito11 years and Luisraimundotito are the same person, Both have made the exact same edits to articles and both have created fish bites, Tito11 is CU indeffed on enwiki too,

Both are quacking at this point however as of writing this SRG haven't done anything so I assume I need to come here first ? (which seems a whole waste of time if they're CU blocked on enwiki?, Am I doing this backwards? feels like I am but seems like I'm the only person at SRG that sees the quacking here?), If I'm being impatient then I apologise but usually when SRG ignores a report it 9/10 means they don't see a problem, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 22:38, 9 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yep, they quack like a duck... a closer look revealed... a duck... so rejoice... free blocks for everyone... Eptalon (talk) 22:43, 9 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Eptalon Brilliant thanks so much for your extremely quick actions, I'll add this to the report in the hope something happens, Suspect not but it's worth a bash, Thanks again, Warm Regards, –Davey2010Talk 22:47, 9 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Revisiting the Battle of Qara-Hamid accounts

change

Possible WP:EVASION around this article. After the previous CU-blocks at Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archives/2024-12#Battle_of_Qara-Hamid_accounts by Bsadowski1, more new users have joined here to continue the content dispute of the previous accounts. Despite having lower edit counts, many of them were able to find this article. The 7th and 9th user made statements about casualities with similar scale ([8], [9]) trying to deny the claim of being "unknown" made by their opponents (such as the 4th user, [10]). The 1st user is the author of this article and the 6th user has tried to blank this page (see the deleted edits like [11]), and the page history is a conflict among them. I guess the 7th and 9th user is on the same of the 1st user and the 8th user who tagged this page ([12]) is on the same side with the 6th user. MathXplore (talk) 14:11, 11 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
