Response
In response to the French/Việtnamese diacritics: there is also no English name for, say, Quốc Ngữ ("National Writing System" conveys the message of "Việtnamese alphabet" about as much as "Cup of the State" does "overthrow of a country's leader"). Either call it Việtnamese alphabet like ENWIKI or use its proper name, but don't replace letters with other letters. For example, ệ is a different letter (in Việtnamese) than e, and the pronunciation is changed. If Erik Möller's name is written with the ö, which is differently pronounced in German than o, with a redir from Moller, why can the same not be done with a non-European language? The only answer, in my opinion, is Eurocentrism, that is, in laypeople terms, racism. — Jonas Rand · (talk) 01:42, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Great! Thanks for helping with it. I'm hoping to keep it as a good article. All the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:57, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
- No problem. I'll look into it further tomorrow after I speak to a mate in Austria and see if he'll do a proper translation of the whole article for us. :-) fr33kman t - c 20:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Your Welcomes
I noticed you've made a lot of welcomes in the past couple of hours...just make sure they make they're first edit to a main article space before you welcome them.-- † ChristianMan16 02:02, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I thought that we were, as per WP:Simple talk#More editors?, starting to welcome people as soon as they made an account (as long as they had made either no edits or no inappropriate edits) ?? :-) fr33kman t - c 02:12, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
- I'm just telling you what they told me because sometimes they make an account and never make an edit or just make one or two edits to they're user page then disappear forever...we just want to make sure they serious. which is why we wait for they're first main space edit.-- † ChristianMan16 02:16, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
- Good point...we should discuss this at WP:ST and come to a consensus.-- † ChristianMan16 02:29, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
