Ireland
changePlease have consensus before you make a move like you did with Republic of Ireland. You posted a thread about it an hour and a half ago. That is not enough time to get input and make a controversial change. The English Wikipedia also has their article at Republic of Ireland with Ireland (state) redirecting to it. Let's stick with what they have unless there is consensus to move. Only (talk) 12:26, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- Why is English Wiki the model? What about Britannica, Encarta, the United Nations, and all the many other sources that call this country just plain "Ireland"? Kauffner (talk) 12:56, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- DjSasso has a decent response at Talk:Republic of Ireland as to why. We were formed as an off-shoot of the English Wikipedia. Because of that, we generally follow a lot of their guidelines/discussions unless we form consensus of our own. If you're able to get consensus here for a move, then we'll move it, but it's too "big" of a move to happen without it. Only (talk) 21:07, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
