Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia change

Hi, OnBeyondZebrax, welcome to Simple English Wikipedia! Thank you for your changes. If you need help, check out the Help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page. Whenever leaving messages on talk pages, please remember to sign your name by typing four 'tildes' (like this: ~~~~); doing this makes your name and the date show up. Also, it helps if you write something in the box that says 'change summary' whenever you change an article. Below are some useful links to make your time here simpler. Happy changing! References change

Hi there, OnBeyondZebrax! Welcome to the project!   I notice that much of the content you're adding is translated from the English Wikipedia. Would you please consider also copying over any relevant citations (references) for those statements? It helps us know where the information comes from and maintains quality and reliability. It'll also help to prevent things like this happening.

If you need any help with anything, please let me know. Regards, Osiris (talk) 00:02, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

New articles change

Hello, OnBeyondZebrax, and thanks for the great new articles! Now that you have the hang of creating the articles, how about taking the next steps and making sure they have categories and internal links? You can look at the changes I made to some of them to see what I mean. If the articles are based on English Wikipedia articles, there are a couple of other things to do. One is to establish an interwiki link in Wikidata. I wrote some instructions for that at User:Auntof6/How to#Interwiki language links for new pages. The other is to give attribution. That is very important because it is a legal requirement. There are instructions for that at WP:Transwiki attribution. Please let me know if you have any questions. --Auntof6 (talk) 22:31, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I have been going through the articles I created and its seems that you or somebody else has added the language links to the en WP. Thank you!OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 23:48, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Look, I am improving! [1]OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 00:40, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well, the articles are a lot simpler. I am adding links to some of your earlier articles. The attribution boxes go on the talk pages. Osiris (talk) 00:45, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ahhh.... So that explains why I wasn't seeing the TA boxes on any other pages!OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 00:56, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Maintenance tags change

Hi OnBeyondZebrax, welcome. I noticed you're copying and pasting articles from enWP. Nice job in giving attribution and in simplifying. One thing though, try not to copy maintenance tags along with the article. What they would tag there is not necessarily what would be tagged here. Also, test any images and infoboxes to see if they work here. Some don't. Good luck. Rus793 (talk) 05:25, 26 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

You're also leaving a lot of stuff that we don't have here (templates and files hosted only on the English Wikipedia). We only use files hosted on Wikimedia Commons. Leaving them there results in red links that are pretty easy to spot (example here). I've gone through and fixed all of the ones you've left already, but it would be good if you could do that yourself in the future. Even if they do work here, there might not be enough room for them after you've translated the content (example here and here).
The things you should not leave off are the complete references. In many instances, you've left citations without any words in them (example here) or not added the {{reflist}} at the bottom of the page (example here and here). These will result in big red error messages that should be pretty easy to spot... You also need to show the complete citations. I've fixed most of those for you as well (example here), but I've tagged others so that you can go back and fix them. You will find those in Category:Articles with incomplete citations. Any of the red error messages that I haven't fixed will be in Category:Pages with broken reference names. Look in there for any articles that you've created. Great work on simplifying, though.   Readability is much better. Osiris (talk) 04:04, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
You're still doing it, here... Should I fix the rest of the broken references, or are you going to? Osiris (talk) 07:23, 28 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I did a poor job. The references are fixed nowOnBeyondZebrax (talk) 21:49, 28 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Quick deletion of Battle of the Netherlands change

The page you wrote, Battle of the Netherlands, has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. Baseball Watcher 23:13, 4 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I know that you've given it a good try, but these articles (Battle of the Netherlands, Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Aachen, Battle of the Coral Sea) are still really complex. Be aware that the size of a page and the detail it goes into will contribute to the textual difficulty. Content of that size will inevitably take a lot of effort to simplify sufficiently. Osiris (talk) 09:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your feedback. I am going to go back to these articles and work on simplifying them.OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 22:23, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Might I suggest that you work on them in your userspace? I just undid your changes to Battle of Iwo Jima because they weren't simplified enough from enwiki. I was about to undo some of the others until I remembered seeing this conversation here. How about moving them to your userspace and reverting the live articles to their previous state until you're ready with your changes? Also please remember that you need to give attribution to enwiki when you copy a significant amount of text from there, even if you're adding to an existing article. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:41, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
I just looked at Iwo Jima and I saw that it was my worst job at simplification so far. I tried again and this time it is much simpler.OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 01:56, 9 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
