Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that your signature messed up on WP:Simple Talk. You may want to fix it. Thanks!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 04:49, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've been trying to make my sigs look cool...thinking Purple for the username and gold for talk and contribs if it's regular me, but olive green if it's Trail. But it just ain't working Purplebackpack89 (talk) 20:21, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you'll be a bit more specific with what you're looking for (i.e. Purplebackpack89 (talk) (contribs)), I can probably help you. ···Lauryn 02:58, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I want it to look like this: Purplebackpack89(Notes Taken) (Locker); with Purplebackpack89 linking to user page; Notes taken linking here; and Locker link to my contribs And for my alternate account (Purplebackpackonthetrail): Purplebackpack89(Notes Taken) (Trails blazed); and with them linking to my standard user page; here; and my alternate acct's contribus

For your main account use:
 • <font color="purple">Purplebackpack89</font> <font color="gold">(Notes Taken)</font> <font color="gold">(Locker)</font>
For your road account use:
 • <font color="purple">Purplebackpack89</font> <font color="olive">(Notes Taken)</font> <font color="olive">(Trails blazed)</font>
Obviously leave out the nowiki tags. :) Cheers, ···Lauryn 21:08, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:18, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
To make life easy, please use User talk:Purplebackpack89#top like normal siggys. I was confused when I tried clicking on a link. Griffinofwales (talk) 00:20, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
That better? (Note that Boy Scout drab means trail and Laker gold means standard) Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Trails blazed) 00:23, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, thanks for fixing. I'll never remember the color code though. Griffinofwales (talk) 00:27, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Not that it particularly matters...if somebody's mad at my acct., they're probably also frustrated at my alt acct., and vice versa. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:29, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Meowth

Thanks. It takes alot of effort to try and simplify the article and cut out what isn't needed. I could create many more articles in the future such as Psyduck, Snorlax, Mr. Mime, Jynx, etc. Since I helped create many of the articles at en.wiki, it helps me better understand how to simplify the articles here. I would probably have alot of trouble with something written by somebody else. Blake (Talk·Edits) 23:14, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! The article Joe Biden you proposed to good article status is now a good article and has been promoted. --Raymondnivet (talk) 23:45, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lauryn said it and I'll say it too...it ain't persecution. And even if the article was kept on English wikipedia, you still recreated deleted content, which you really shouldn't do Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 23:48, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

No it's not the same content. It's has been improved by WP Community !!! But you did'nt read it ??? You are abble to ask the deletion of something you hav'nt read ?? --Raymondnivet (talk) 23:53, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I voted delete this (and last) time because of notability, not quality. It's perfectly acceptable to delete a non-notable article of any quality. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:06, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cities, towns, and villages in the United States

Hi there PBP89. I would indeed like to help you with your project in any way that I can, so I will help you by giving you some advice: Don't forget the Infoboxes, as they are very helpful :) Even though they are from the English Wikipedia, they still provide a healthy amount of information and, in my opinion, are vital for our articles here to help expand the information that we have on certain articles. Also, you don't have to do this, but if you could, could you make sure that you include a category for the county that they are in, as well as the County template from the English Wikipedia? They both provide even more information that I think would be very helpful for our users here, although it is up to you on whether or not you want to do it. If you don't want to, I would be more than willing to do it for you, but in might take a while ;). I'm active in quite a few other places right now :) Cheers, Razorflame 00:01, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Counties will be difficult because there are thousands of them in the United States, because many cities that are close together are in different counties, and also because it's likely many counties will only have one or two. I'll start with Category:Cities in Los Angeles County, California Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:08, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think you should follow what the English Wikipedia has for categories, which would be Category:Los Angeles County, California instead of what you had. Anyways, hope this helps :) Cheers, Razorflame 07:02, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rollback

Please remember that rollback is only for cases of obvious vandalism. This revert is not a case of obvious vandalism. This is a content dispute and does not deserve to be rollbacked as you did. Thanks, Either way (talk) 00:02, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I used rollback in that instance because I have encountered that user on other projects, and she is a POV pusher and a disruptive editor. Maybe questionable, but I had my reasons. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:06, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well there seems to be nothing wrong with that edit there at all. On En. "Lincoln" goes to the disambiguation page, so it's not "disruptive" or "POV pushing" or vandalism to have our page going there too. Either way (talk) 00:15, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I would have undid it if I hadn't rolled it back, which is well within my rights. There are several Wikipedias where Lincoln goes straight to Abe Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:18, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Then undo it rather than roll it back. But what you did was misuse the rollback tool. Either way (talk) 00:19, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

As you see, JenUK persists in her POV pushing...she undid my rollback. JenUK is a clear POV pusher; I have reason to believe she is a sockpuppet, and I seriously think she should be blocked Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:20, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Any proof for that? Jenuk1985 (talk) 00:21, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
On most other wikipedia projects, you operate as Jeni, but for some reason not here. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:26, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
As mentioned in the other place where you are throwing sockpuppet accusations around, I don't own the user account Jeni on here, so I have to use my previous SUL of Jenuk1985. Perhaps do a little bit of research in future ;-) Jenuk1985 (talk) 00:31, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, Jeni, but that's another one of your outright lies. According to here, Jenuk1985 and Jeni are one and the same. This user should be blocked for lying in addition to her blatant POV pushing and disruption. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:36, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
That is on commons, you'll find! Again, do your research. Jenuk1985 (talk) 00:37, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Stop this idiotic bickering or I'll block you, Purplebackpack89. If you can't discuss this rationally, don't discuss it at all. PeterSymonds (talk) 00:39, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why should I be blocked? I didn't start a POV-based row at Lincoln, and when I use two different usernames, it's clear and transparent. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:41, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is no abuse of accounts here, and you know it. Clouding the discussion with this silliness only serves to distract other editor's from the real issue. Concentrate on that issue, not this unrelated nonsense. PeterSymonds (talk) 00:43, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is no rule that says I can't use different usernames on different projects. The only reason I don't use the Jeni name on here is because it is already taken. On projects where I have previously edited under the Jenuk1985 username, it is perfectly clear. End of Jenuk1985 (talk) 00:44, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring

Please stop your edit warring. You reverted three times on Lincoln and then moved the page after PeterSymonds moved it. If you continue this edit warring, you may find yourself blocked. Edit warring is disruptive to the project. Discussion is what matters right now, not maintaining "the way things were" as you seem to be attempting to do here. Please keep this in mind, Either way (talk) 01:05, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's 1R on the move and Jeni was being disruptive. I have my reasons Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 01:10, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
It was a content dispute. Both of you were disruptive. You reverted her three times. "Your reasons" are bound to get you blocked if you continue. Either way (talk) 01:13, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

pbp89 q for ya.

images can u help put some up for me? (DFIII)

OK, first off, you need to sing posts like ~~~~. Second, you can get images yourself at commons, just type in what you're looking for, copy the file name of what you want, put it in double brackets [[]], and in the brackets, after the file name, add |thumb|left|150px|(Whatever you want your caption to be). Third, we want you to go to IRC chat with us, which is here here Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 00:13, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Japan chronology projects

Thank you for your helpful contribution at WP:AN#User:Tenmei.

If you please, will you take a look at two articles about Japanese era names: Shōō (Kamakura period) and Einin?

I plan to re-use this format with 200+ articles about the traditional Japanese calendar which is still in use today. I plan for the lead paragraph and Template:succession box to be similar to these examples. In addition, I propose to briefly mention

(a) major occurrences in the lives of the List of Emperors of Japan, and
(b) significant natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, famines, etc.

As you can see, the Wikipedia:Basic English combined wordlist is supplemented with more difficult words. I provided links to relevant simple:Wikipedia articles and simple:Wiktionary definitions.

Do you have comments? questions? suggestions? --Tenmei (talk) 00:32, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm not entirely familiar with the foreign character policy or the diacritical policy. You may want to ask someone about that. I'm considering asking that the BE 850 be placed in RecentChanges navbox. The content in the articles looks reasonable. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 05:10, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your feedback. In response, I posted:
If you have additional comments or suggestions as these projects develop during the coming year, I would welcome them. --Tenmei (talk) 14:33, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hey there,

You recently voted to demote the current very good article Violin at proposed article demotion. The article has now had most, if not all, of its issues fixed by Meganmccarty and so may no longer be eligible for demotion.

Please re-voice your opinion on the article's changed appearance!

Rollback is for vandalism. If you do this again, you'll quickly find yours gone. Consider this an only warning.  — laurynashby 22:27, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The guy cut a sentence of text and violated style guidelines. It's a bad edit, even if not a bad faith one. I consider it a perfectly legitimate use of rollback Purplebackpack89 22:32, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Rollback is only for vandalism and your own edits, nothing else. Read the policy. Griffinofwales (talk) 22:34, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) And you should have used undo with an edit summary - rollback is for obvious vandalism. Back up with what the other two have said - re-read the rollback guidelines or you may have found that it has gone. Goblin 22:35, 11 April 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Chenzw!Reply
Regardless, the guy violated POV and style guidelines, and his edit should have been killed. Don't you guys have better things to do than patrol edits of well-established users? Purplebackpack89 22:40, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Rollback is for blatant vandalism, not style and POV guidelines - use undo for that. Goblin 22:41, 11 April 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Chenzw!Reply
