Complex Articles change

Hi, I just wanted to inform you that your articles are too complex. You should simplify them or add a {{complex}} tag on top of the articles. Thanks!--Beefball Talk 12:46, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok. --Beefball Talk 12:56, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Its done now, some other examples are Ubuntu or Linux. --Beefball Talk 13:16, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I added the categories on the page. An easier way to do it is to enable hotcat in your preferences. --Beefball Talk 04:43, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Blowfish (cypher) has been simplified. I am not an expert in this topic so feel free to correct any mistakes I make --Beefball Talk 12:46, 24 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unsimple change

Although the subject you are writing about is hard to use Simple words, take a look at this link for some helpful information, and this one for a wordlist of words you should try and use.

Try and make the words you use shorter, so that, for instance, "infant" becomes "baby". Any hard words, try and link it to an article explaining the meaning, or link it to Wikitionary by using [[wikt:Soccer|Soccer]], giving Soccer. You can then create the definition at our sister project. Hope this helps, MC8 (talk) 12:11, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's hard to do so when I don't know anything about the topic. Adding the tag lets other people know, so they can help you. MC8 (talk) 12:57, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
If it isn't able to be put across in Simple English, it is outside our project scope. Just try changing the words to slightly shorter ones. The tag is only there so that other people can help: don't take it personally. I understand that Cryptography is a hard subject, but you should be able to make it simpler. Just start with a basic, simple english stub, and then expand it. Hope this helps, MC8 (talk) 17:04, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Embedded system change

Hello there,

I have seen that you copied articles like Embedded system form English wikipedia. Then only sipmlified a little bit. Most of our users are better served by an article that is shorter (possibly a stub) and simple, than by one that is longer, and hard to understand. Therefore please try to to sipmlify the articles enough when you copy them. As an example to see what I mean, compare en:Real-time computing with real-time computing. Thanks. --Eptalon (talk) 19:01, 29 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, I am done with it for today. Do you know there is the {{inuse}} template that can prevent some change conflicts? - And of course you are free to revert my changes if you do not like them. What I was trying to say: work in small steps; copy over a section, simplify it, copy over the next,...--Eptalon (talk) 19:07, 29 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

REDIRECT HOW TO change

Is it possible to make a link to redirect Exclusive or to Exclusive disjunction? BR Puttyschool (talk) 13:40, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done. In future, write #REDIRECT [[Exclusive disjunction]]. --Gwib -(talk)- 13:53, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Network computing change

Hello there; to me this article has many problems:

  • If we are talking about computers being hooked up and talking to each other, we are probably talking about Computer network
  • If we are talking about computers solving problems together, rather than alone, we are probably talking about distributed computing (with its facettes, like Grid computing)

Can I therefore suggest making network computing a disambig page, to link to the different other articles? - IMO the ENWP definition is just plain wrong. Sorry.--Eptalon (talk) 11:27, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good article change

Hello Puttyschool; I have very little time, and I fear that my next candidate for an article might be controversial to an extent. Nevertheless I wish you best of luck with your articles. While I am one of those people who know what they talk about when they talk about computers, I rarely write on those subject. Rather, I prefer to spread my ignorance on other things. --Eptalon (talk) 17:07, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The page you wrote, Block size (cryptography), has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. PotsdamLamb (talk) 06:37, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
