Putting the country names of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Wales next to the United Kingdom. change

Should I put the country names of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland next to the United Kingdom and if not, why? -- PK2 (talk) 12:16, 15 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

No. I realize that those four are called "constituent countries". However, Wikipedia treats the UK as the country, not those four. It's just the standard way Wikipedia does it, just like what it considers the continents to be. It doesn't mean that's the only way to look at it, just that we treat them that way to be consistent. --Auntof6 (talk) 17:51, 15 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Democratic republic of Congo change

Just a little suggestion, why don't you put the DRoC under D, instead of putting int under Z, saying it used to be Zaire?

Kosovo change

Kosovo should be on here

Why we do not use flags in this wiki? change

I've checked this page in other languages and every one of them uses flags. They make easy to remember the countries and not confuse them. Also, some wikis even keep them ordered in a list, that makes easier to find the names. So why we do not use it? 🕵📚 NeopunkLM 💬 Talk 19:42, 2 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Taiwan change

restoration of the old layout change

I propose that we restore the old layout for this article like we had until three and a half years ago, because it looks much simpler than the current tabled version, but with flags beside their names as well. What do you think? -- PK2 (talk) 21:30, 11 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Countries? change

Why are places like reunion listed here, in a list of countries?- FusionSub (Talk page) (Contributions) 12:53, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is one of the most contended pages we have. What defines a country? It seems there is no perfect answer. I, personally, agree that colonies should be under their respective owners (especially French which list them as overseas departments). fr33kman 12:56, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disputed countries change

I think the disputed countries section has too many items. Is anyone seriously suggesting that regions of Russia like Altai Republic or Sakha are countries? 2601:644:907E:A450:A433:8BBE:85C1:4869 (talk) 08:38, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

P and V sections change

I think two countries were missing on these sections, is anyone seriously suggesting that Palestine and Vatican City are not countries? ThePurgatori (talk) 21:30, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Pretty sure Vatican is considered a country by reliable sources. Palestine is a bit iffy, but AFAIK a lot of other countries recognize it. LilianaUwU (talk / changes) 21:31, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Palestine change

is Palestine a country 2800:CD0:AD01:C700:8D4E:FA39:5ACB:ACCE (talk) 21:34, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, Palestine is considered a country because it's an observer state of the UN ThePurgatori (talk) 21:35, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Criteria for inclusion change

I think because of the frequent disruption on this page, we should just adopt the English Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 22:28, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Countries with no indigenous population change

What countries had no indigenous population? ThePurgatori (talk) 22:30, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

1. Iceland all at once was settled in the 800 AD, but then, the indigenous populations of them is now dead due to some reasons.
2. Vatican City is so small and has no indigenous peoples, so these are the 2 countries that don't have any indigenous population. ThePurgatori (talk) 22:33, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
