Oregonian2012 DYK reasons

Hey. I've been writing a lot of DYK facts and so I wrote my last one. I wrote a fact about Pat Hingle, but Oregonian declined it because "it happened soooooo long ago" and that "Hingle is not a household name". Can you try to talk some sense to that user. I would but whenever I write something on his talk page he deletes it and ignores it. Can you please reply on my talk page. Thanks a bunch. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk), 30 May 2013, 16:13 (UTC).

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner on this; I've been somewhat busy IRL recently. I'll see what I can post put it seems that most things are deleted by this user from their talk page. I'll also bounce some suggestions off others as to an appropriate way forwards; I'm leaning towards a thread on WP:AN to bring this to the wider community, as I agree that it is somewhat disruptive behaviour. dyk edit

I edited the manson dyk because manson was not the actual killer. he ordered his followers to kill Tate which they did. the dyk is misleading. some readers will think he actually stabbed her to death. please remove the "Sharon tate killer" . thanks. Oregonian2012 (talk) 19:07, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

If this is the case then the entire hook must be removed back to the nominations page and it must be discussed again. The hook as it stands is the one approved; if you alter it (Even if it is factual) then it has not been approved by the community, and thus is not eligible to appear on DYK. Hope this makes sense. No, I am not. Like the rest of Wikipedia, DYK is run by the community on community consensus. Anyone can change something (as long as it follows the rules), and no 'permission' is required. • He's the custodian of the DYK page. Read his User page: "Here at Simple, my work so far has mainly involved looking after the Did you know section." He doesn't tell us if this "work" has been arrived at by community consensus or just something he has taken upon himself to do without that consensus. Would love to know! Good Article

Hello! I'm wondering if my article James Gandolfini can be a good article. It has good reliable sources in every sentence in the article. If a hook is unreviewed then it is usually okay to just edit it inline, however a hook that has been reviewed (positively or negatively) should always be revised with a re-statement of the hook, for what I hope are apparent reasons.
