Your articles change

Hello, TBrandley. Welcome to the project.

You have created a total of 41 new articles as of this message. As you can see from above, many of them were tagged for quick deletion. It would be a good idea for you to take a look at the quick deletion criteria so that you can stop this from happening. It is also essential that, if you're copying things over from the English Wikipedia, you give attribution to the original authors to avoid issues with copyright.

Thanks, and best regards, Osiris (talk) 19:11, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

QD Disney XD change

I requested quick deletion of Disney XD. Please see the talk page. Gotanda (talk) 23:40, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I see that it was Quick Deleted, not once, but twice and you have recreated it again. The advertising content is gone, but this stub still has problems. I believe you have already been cautioned about incorrect or incomplete references. Disney XD still has these problems. I believe this is wasting the time of other editors and could be considered disruptive. Please be aware that we have One Strike Rule here at Simple English Wikipedia. I would suggest taking a break from creating any further articles until you clean up your mass-produced stubs. Gotanda (talk) 04:29, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

FIFA 13 Nominated for Deletion change

This is to let you know that the article you created, FIFA 13, has been nominated for deletion. Gotanda (talk) 22:31, 15 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please compare your work with other articles in Category:Future events.

For example, perhaps it will help to compare your work here with my work here? May I suggest you take a look at the newly-created cut-and-paste simple:List of G8 summits.

Do these examples help you begin to figure out some of the problems which develop because of flaws in way you create cut-and-paste articles? --Horeki (talk) 16:07, 17 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Importing stubs from EnWP: Attribution change

Hi, it is fine to bring in information from English Wikipedia as long as it is simplified and you give credit/attribution. Please see Wikipedia:How_to_copy_from_another_Wikipedia#Steps_required where it says (among other things):

Save it with an change summary that includes where and when you got the information from on the other Wikipedia (e.g.: "started article using information at exact revision of the article used at the other Wikipedia) This should be done by clicking on the "Permanent link" link in the toolbox of the article on the other Wikipedia and copying the exact URL of the revision used into the change summary of the new article here before you save it. If you forget to do this, you can add an attribution template to the article's talk page instead.

The new article, Criminal_Minds, appears to be copied since it includes exactly the same reference and infobox. Please add the attribution in the edit summary or the talk page. Thanks, Gotanda (talk) 00:29, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Quick deletion of Template:Infobox media franchise change

The page you wrote, Template:Infobox media franchise, has been selected for quick deletion. This is because the page was deprecated or replaced by a newer template and are completely unused and not linked to. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. Auntof6 (talk) 23:47, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

QD Mr. Mann change

I tagged your new article, Mr. Mann, for quick deletion because it is an exact and complex copy from En Wikipedia. There is no need for copies of En pages here on Simple English Wikipedia. I'd suggest working on simplifying articles in your userspace or offline before pasting them in. Gotanda (talk) 01:13, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Touch articles change

Hello, TBrandley. As you may have noticed, I've removed the episode summaries from Touch (TV series)‎. Two of them were copied directly from the English Wikipedia version of the article, without so much as a punctuation mark of difference. The remainders appear to have been copied from various Fox-affiliated websites.

I'd like you to read our terms of use. When you add text to anywhere on a Wikimedia project like the Simple English Wikipedia, it must be your own work. You cannot copy text from a website and paste it here. There are many reasons for this, but the most important is that you're leaving Wikipedia open to serious legal issues.

Secondly, even when you have permission to reuse content from a website (for example, the English Wikipedia), our policy requires that you give attribution to the people who wrote it. Read Copying within Wikipedia which is also relevant to this project. You can see here how to do give attribution to another Wikipedia. I'm concerned because I notified you of this two weeks ago (above) and you don't appear to have taken it on board.

Lastly, because this is the Simple English Wikipedia, anything you copy over has to be simplified. You wouldn't copy over text from the French Wikipedia and paste it here without translating it, so please treat content from the English Wikipedia as needing to be translated.

Please take on what I've said, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask (either me or any other regular editor here). Regards, Osiris (talk) 16:39, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I see you've now reinserted different descriptions from another set of websites. I know this from a simple Google search. Please respond to my request. If you continue this, I'll have to bring it to the community's attention. Osiris (talk) 16:54, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Also, the many new articles created simply as redirects are not helpful. See Entanglement as an example. That word and other has several more common uses. You are creating a real disambiguation problem here for no good reason. Please stop creating articles like that. Gotanda (talk) 22:08, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nightswimming (Awake) change

Hi, I see that you have created a new article, Nightswimming (Awake). I have three questions:

  • Does this TV episode really need a separate article? The main article for the series is a stub.
  • Did you base this on English Wikipedia? It seems that way, so if you did, you need to give attribution.
  • Can you please write in simple English here? Look at the second sentence. "It was Leonard Chang and co-executive producer Davey Holmes that wrote "Nightswimming", which was watched by 2.80 million viewers, including 0.9 percent of those aged between 18 and 49, when it was first broadcast on television in the United States." It includes several clauses and a phrases strung together with commas. It is not simple or even written in a clear style. Writing on this wiki should use simple subject-verb-object sentences when possible. (I have rewritten the sentence simply and removed some unsourced an unimportant detail. Thanks, Gotanda (talk) 10:25, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I'd prefer so. It is a very good article (featured article) in the English, and I would like to get it up to that status here too. Yes, I try to, but I'm not that good, sorry, will try though. Thanks for your edits and help though! I added the {{based on}} template to the article for attribution. Cheers, TBrandley (talk) 04:12, 29 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
