Hello, "deserves to win" is not an excuse to add information without any citations. In addition, I have not seen any poll results (the election starts tomorrow) as of the writing of this reply. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 07:55, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
They added a source, which you wrongly cited down as "not a real source". I have used some of Franceinfo's references in other articles, and as a Frenchperson I can assure you it is a real website. @Unknown polygon Hello, adding original research is generally not allowed. You need to provide actual reliable and credible sources to verify your statement. "I heard it from a scientist" is not a source. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 00:01, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Categories by continent

Hi, just in case you are wondering why I added Category:Categories by continent to the articles that already were in a subcategory of this, it was because this seems to be the way it's done: Category:Categories by continent includes every category that is by continent. It's probably for maintenance purposes of some kind. Thanks for adding the other category. Lights and freedom (talk) 08:32, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Lights and freedom ah, sorry about that! I didn't notice that. It's a non-diffusing category. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 08:34, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Azerbaijan stubs

Hello.

I added the stubs and categories, because there are many short articles about Azerbaijanis and Azerbaijan. A United States stub exists in Simple Wikipedia.

Youes sincerely, 31.200.18.237 (talk) 06:23, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

A stub category is not created simply because there are many articles in a category. For example, we have numerous articles in Category:Companies that are at the stub level, but we don't have a company stub. A stub category is created when there are enough stubs for the category, there's people actively working to improve the stub, and the community approves the stub. Keep in mind, this is the Simple English Wikipedia, we try to keep things simple here. While English Wikipedia may have a stub category as detailed as "Bolivian Roman Catholic bishop stubs", we don't. Because that's not simple. You may ask for input from the community at the Simple Stub Project's talkpage. Best, — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 06:28, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

User:Recorded-IP-Address

With this account, they explained their series of self-reverts with this edit summary: "I’m sorry, but what keeps happening is I kept getting logged out every time I try to edit and I couldn’t figure out how to link the English version to this version". Yes, it was a little suspicious, but now they have stopped with the self reverts. Might it be better to assume good faith for now, and to report them to VIP later if they cause disruption? Lights and freedom (talk) 06:27, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Lights and freedom I was going to say that an admin should review it first, but looks like Griff has already blocked them. They can always appeal if they think the block was unjustified. Blocks are preventative, not punitive. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 06:38, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I just want to alert @Griffinofwales: to this, although maybe you've noticed and decided to block them anyway. This user did contribute significant content to the article (although maybe the topic of the article wasn't notable enough, I'm not expressing opinion on that), however now the article is nominated for quick deletion and all the content has been removed. Ok, after leaving this comment I won't bother about this topic anymore. Lights and freedom (talk) 06:39, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
L&F and Fehufanga, thanks to both of you for noticing their edits. I blocked them as the IP attached with this account was long term blocked for similar disruptive edits at enWP. As I strongly suspect this is all the same user, this user is well aware of how Wikipedia functions, and simply using this project as their playground. Griff (talk) 06:45, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Template changes

Would you please explain why you are removing content categories from template categories? An example is this change to Category:Baseball templates. In the past, I've emphasized that templates need to be in content categories, either individually or by being in a template category that is in one or more content categories. These changes are undoing that. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:55, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Auntof6 Following how English Wikipedia does it, and the way I see it, mixing template categories with content categories is confusing to anyone who uses categories. They are not content by themselves. Would it be fine to remove Category:Albania from Category:Albania templates while keeping Category:Countries in Category:Country templates? — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 07:04, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Your changes aren't following how enwiki does it. For example, en:Category:Baseball templates is in en:Category:Baseball. Category:Albania templates should be a subcategory of Category:Albania, Category:Country templates should be a subcategory of Category:Countries, and so on. Not having them there makes it harder to find the template(s) you want.
As for mixing templates in content categories, templates appear at the end of any content category they're in because they use a special sort key that puts them there. (Any that don't use the special sort key should be changed to use it.) This is documented at Wikipedia:Categories#Special sorting, under Special character sort keys; the fact that it's documented shows that templates and template categories are expected to be in content categories. That plus the fact that templates and template categories mostly have names that indicate that they are (for) templates keep things from being confusing (not that I've ever heard anyone else say they thought it was confusing).
Finally, we are not required to do things the way enwiki does. Sometimes there are reasons to and sometimes there aren't. Before continuing with this, and before making any other significant changes, please discuss to get consensus and let others know you want to change established processes. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 08:05, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Auntof6 en:Category Baseball templates seems to be an odd one in this case - other sport template categories are not categorized under a content category, such as en:Category:Basketball_templates or en:Category:Table_tennis_templates. In most cases, template categories are not placed in content categories. I'm not going to remove any more content categories. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 08:45, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Now that I look more into it, categories in en:Sports_templates_by_sport appear to be inconsistent, more than I had thought previously. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 08:51, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello hope your doing well , I need you to check this article https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/EFEM it can be restored in this case the article was deleted with 9 ref one time and again with 24 references. I outlined that the artist name does not pop up on google evrytime due to similar companies with the same name, which is why the name does not show up when you search on google some times this is google id https://g.co/kgs/nV68eZ

I think this is the issue in this case he has notability178.197.197.173 (talk) 00:51, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have checked the search results again, and I have tried including terms such as "artist" and "musician", etc. There are still no indications that the subject passes the general notability guidelines. If you object, please take it to WP:Deletion review, I cannot do anything here. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 00:56, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

They have all been verified sources, yet I disagree. I've also tagged administrators to investigate this case, because you can't just delete just like that with 24 references. I think administrators should investigate some adminis here because those who abuse thair privileges should be taken178.197.197.173 (talk) 01:02, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have seen pages with more references get deleted. The number of references does not always dictate whether or not an article should be kept or be deleted. I don't see any administrative abuse here. Again, I cannot help you here. I have no tools to undelete the page. I suggest that you take this to WP:Deletion review, not my talk page. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 01:04, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Prince Sayyid Raphael Dakik

I honestly tell you It is not bad to prejudice to fast. But maybe you can improve the article and make it in Chinese language in order to gather more valuable encyclopedic information for people. Let us work on it together in a friendly and harmonic manner, respecting our works. I am looking forward to a fruitful cooperation.--Warburton123 (talk) 14:21, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Warburton123 I am still not convinced that the subject is notable enough for an article on Wikipedia. Repeatedly accusing me of having a prejudice without evidence is casting an aspersion. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 14:26, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
But you honetsly made a disruptive change, which is vandalistic and in this manner you seemingly have a prejudice to say that the Hazrat Ishaan from a neutral perspective is not a worthy post. The prejudice is based on your lack of knowledge on this topic, which is no problem at all. It can happen as nobody is perfect. So please accept your mistake and let us work together by first removing the template that is discrediting the content of the article. So you consider https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Christophe,_Prince_Napol%C3%A9on more worth noting? a person who represents a dynasty that does not exist since 150 years rather than a Prince of a dynasty of the last 40 years, who simultaneosly is the current Hazrat Ishaan? The Hazrat Ishaan in Sunni Islam is similar to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aga_Khan in Shia Islam. Warburton123 (talk) 14:32, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
PS: I am not casting any aspersions, as I am only honest, You give the impression of prejudicing, so you should honestly for your own sake, work of your conduct. This is no problem at all as nobody is perfect. Warburton123 (talk) 14:39, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Warburton123 just because a page about a similar subject exists doesn't mean that the article being discussed should be kept. And no, I don't think Jean-Christopher is notable. That doesn't change my opinion on Prince Sayyid Raphael Dakik. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 14:42, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Then you should stay on your principles and delete Jean-Christopher. Please go ahead. Warburton123 (talk) 14:47, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Lol, if "Look, if we have an article on Pokémon species, we should be able to have an article on this band" is kept, than you should for sure keep Prince Sayyid Raphael Dakik as he is the current Hazrat Ishaan and not a band that calls himself after Hazrat Ishaan. Why don´t you just accept that your arguments are not strong enough. This is not a fighting plattform where anyone just promotes his own interests, based on how many badges and edits he has, but a neutral plattform. Warburton123 (talk) 14:49, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Warburton123 I don't see how pokemon is even relevant here. This is off topic. I'm not replying here any further. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 15:02, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
No it is not, it is mentioned in the link you gave me here just because a page about a similar subject exists doesn't mean that the article being discussed should be kept.. I say honestly you are a very prejudicing person, who first acts and then thinks. Sorry for being too harsh. Warburton123 (talk) 15:05, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

In these cases as this one (as you pointed out was a snowball) at en for deletion a QD can happen instead. The only people who keep editing it are IPs but the page is only protected for 2 days. This could just be an admin decision because as soon as it gets unprotected it will get vandalized again. I did ask an admin in private and they will get back to me later tonight if the RfD can be turned into a QD under non-notable. PotsdamLamb (talk) 23:32, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

please read this. disambiguation page links.

Links to disambiguation pages from mainspace are typically errors. In order to find and fix those errors, disambiguators generate reports of links needing to be checked and fixed. Because these reports cannot distinguish cases where an editor has made such a link with the intent to point to the disambiguation page, the community has adopted the standard of routing all intentional disambiguation links in mainspace through "Foo (disambiguation)" redirects. This makes it clear that such links are intended to point to the disambiguation page.

For example:

  • In text or in a "See also" section of an article that is not itself a disambiguation page:
    • Incorrect: There are many places named Springfield
    • Correct: There are many places named Springfield
  • On a disambiguation page, an intentional link to another disambiguation page that does not contain "(disambiguation)" in the title:
    • Incorrect: Springfield
    • Incorrect: Springfield
    • Incorrect: Springfield (disambiguation)
    • Correct: Springfield (disambiguation)
  • In a hatnote:
    • Incorrect: Springfield
    • Correct: Springfield (disambiguation)
    • Correct: [a]

It may be necessary to create the redirect ("Springfield (disambiguation)" in these examples) if it does not already exist. This is described below.

With few exceptions, creating links to disambiguation pages is erroneous. Links should instead point to a relevant article. The purpose of a disambiguation page is to give a list of articles that is likely to include what a reader is looking for when they have typed an ambiguous term into the search box. Disambiguation pages are not articles and so should not be tagged as orphans per the Orphan criteria.

The exceptions, when an intentional link to a disambiguation page is appropriate, are:

  • Links from set indexes: Laing (surname) contains a link to John Laing (disambiguation).
  • Exceptionally, in a "See also" list of interesting internal links where several different articles might be of interest to the reader and multiple ones are listed on the disambiguation page.
  • In a redirect page (below)

To link to a disambiguation page (rather than to a page whose topic is a specific meaning), link to the title that includes the text "(disambiguation)", even if that is a redirect—for example, link to the redirect Springfield (disambiguation) rather than the target page at "Springfield".

  • If the redirect does not yet exist, create it and tag it with R to disambiguation page.
  • If you are linking within a template, such as a hatnote template, you can still use pipe syntax so that the link does not show the new qualifier. To do this, use the character-substitution template.

This helps distinguish accidental links to the disambiguation page from intentional ones. (For use in navboxes, see the D' template.) There is nothing wrong with linking to a redirect instead of linking directly to the disambiguation page; redirects are "cheap" and are basically transparent to the reader.

Redirects to disambiguation pages

Valid causes for redirecting to a disambiguation page include:

  • Incomplete disambiguation (see above)
  • Redirects from misspellings: Britian redirects to the "Britain" disambiguation page.
  • Redirects from alternative spellings if separate disambiguation pages are not warranted: Türk redirects to the Turk disambiguation page.
  • Redirects from variations in capitalisation, word separation, or punctuation, if separate disambiguation pages are not warranted: Bullet Proof redirects to "Bulletproof (disambiguation)".

The rule about linking through a "(disambiguation)" redirect does not apply to redirects to disambiguation pages: Do not create a double redirect, but make a redirect to the disambiguation page directly (thus Bill Cox, a redirect from an alternative name, redirects to the disambiguation page and does not go through the redirect William Cox (disambiguation)). Although it is permissible for this redirect to be made, it generally should not be linked to in an article for the same reasons direct links to disambiguation pages are discouraged.

See Category:Redirects to disambiguation pages.

Links to disambiguation pages can be displayed in orange in the settings under "Gadgets" by checking "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange". 2405:8D40:B11:10F3:8AD:80BD:ABF6:C201 (talk) 05:53, 17 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your statement above concerns me when you say “my team” and “we are looking forward..” So you know, we do have a guideline called Conflict of Interest that I encourage you to read. I am not accusing you of such things but I am encouraging you to read it and if it applies to you, to please follow the instructions on the page!
