User talk:Jonas D. Rand/Archive 1

Latest comment: 17 years ago by Creol in topic Page deletion

Hello, Jonas D. Rand/Archive 1, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! Nishkid64 (talk) 22:20, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just to clarify

change

Tdxiang did NOT block you for references to communism. Tdxiang blocked you because a very well-known vandal on the English Wikipedia uses the word communism in his usernames, and as not many other people do that, he took that to be you. This was not to censor your views. Thanks, Archer7 - talk 23:08, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Userpage

change

I apologize for that. I did not know that you also use your IP address to edit articles. I was suspicious when I saw [1], which is why I reverted. Nishkid64 (talk) 16:06, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RE:Userpage

change

Ooops! I didn't know that was your IP address. I can restore these versions if you'd like me to. --Choosnink TALK 17:42, 27 June 2007 (UTC) (P.S thanks for following most of the rules in my talk page :)Reply

No, I had already changed them. I didn't understand.

I have replied on my talk page. Thanks. · Tygartl1·talk· 02:42, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your signature

change

You need to fix your signature, Ionsa. It makes problems on talk pages, because its font tags are not closed properly. Look at this edit I did, to see which font tags need to be fixed, and which should be added. If you have a question, please ask on my talk page. - Huji reply 13:02, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Internationale

change

I'd help, but I don't have the text needed for pinyin (specifically, the intonations). Sorry. 218.186.9.5/User:Chacor 02:33, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Templates

change

When using templates, please put subst: in front of the template name to reduce the load on the server when the page loads. For example, please use ~~~~ to welcome a user. Thanks. Billz (Talk) 08:16, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also, please could you not welcome users until their first constructive edit? It's rather pointless to welcome users who could be vandals or those who simply do not want to edit. Thank you. Billz (Talk) 08:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Those users were blocked shortly after they created accounts, so nothing to worry about. Nevertheless, thank you for bringing this to my attention =). Billz (Talk) 21:43, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming users

change

Hello, Ionas68224. Although it's a good idea to welcome new users, please make sure that they will stay with this wiki. Thanks, --Isis§(talk) 23:54, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I sound so mean, but please make sure a user deserves a barnstar before giving it to them. Thanks, --Isis§(talk) 21:30, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I was referring to User:Bratz1. I say that not because the user is new. Just because he created an article of notable subject does not mean he deserves a barnstar. That article is a stub and has no cat, and only has interwiki links because another user added them. Remember, look for Quality, not notability. --Isis§(talk) 21:45, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

About translating The Internationale to Chinese Pinyin

change

I'm from Taiwan, not from China, so I have no idea about that song. And Taiwan don't use Pinyin, I can help you if you need Hanyu Pinyin(It is used in Taiwan). But I have already finished the Chinese lyrics, that's what I can only do. --Chen-Sian Lin 14:08, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Signature and Vande Mataram

change

Hello, Ionas68224. This should work:

<tt>j. rand</tt>|<tt>talk</tt>| <tt>contribs</tt>|<tt>email</tt>

It will show like this: j. rand|talk|contribs|email. It makes you put the tags in the correct layout.

I've archived the deletion request in Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Log 6. Hope this helps, --Isis§(talk) 12:24, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Translating

change

Hello! You leave the messeges there in Thai Wikipedia but you should leave the messege here. It's more easy! But that's ok. The meaning is

When you read finish, have to admit that he can be an example of good person in many ways. But not all such as eat his pee. That's not properly.

It's mean just to criticize him in Thai.

P.S. Where did you come from I wonder? I can speak in French and German, too. And I like to make friends with different nationality. And I'll have some English for you to translate to Tagalog (because my nearer is Phillipines).

Bye.--Passawuth 12:12, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Herl

change

The page Herl, which you tagged for quick deletion, would need to get through a request for deletion, as it could be look upon as being a legitimate stub article. Let me know if you have any questions. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  14:14, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

My blocking

change

Hello, Ionas68224. I want to clear any misunderstanding I have with you. Your previous username was "Communism" in Cryllic. Wikipedia is Communism is a very well known vandal on Wikipedia. Most of its sockpuppets (other accounts created by itself) had the words "Communist" or "Communism" in it. I took your previous username to be that of the vandal, so I blocked you. I am not anti-Communist and I respect everyone's views, so I did not block you just to censor your views. Hope this clears everything. Cheers!-- Tdxiang 02:41, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

JustJacklan

change

JustJacklan was blocked for the same reason Choosnink was blocked. If you look on Majorly's talk page there was some discussion regarding that block a few lines about your addition. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  04:46, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: WoW

change

'Willy on Wheels' was a notorious vandal that caused a large amount of disruption on EN Wikipedia. It's rumoured (although not confirmed) that the original vandal has now given up, but due to his fame, many more vandals use still his methods to cause disruption. Anyone that uses those methods now is called 'Willy on Wheels', so it doesn't really mean the person any more; just the method. Archer7 - talk 11:24, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

re:en.wikipedia

change

Hello, Ionas68224. On my talk page, it says that I am not the user from en wiki of the same name. My username on english wikipedia is Isis4563. Actually, I discovered Simple English wikipedia from English wikipedia. Hope this helps, --Isis§(talk) 13:17, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Page deletion

change

Looking at the page, it was deleted because it actually was tagged for Quick delete - user requst. This was because when you tagged the template (the page top template), the deletion request was not put in a <noinclude> section. That caused it to be included on any pages the template was used on. The template listed the page of your names in different languages for quick deletion with the same reason for deletion. I have restored the page for you. -- Creol(talk) 19:30, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
