Copying from English Wikipedia

Could you please stop copying from the English Wikipedia with no/few changes as you did in your Avatar articles? Such articles will be deleted and could lead to a block for you if you are not careful. Regards, Pmlineditor ∞ 06:27, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi there. Further to what Pmlineditor just told you above, copying an article from the English Wikipedia (or any Wikipedia for that matter), removing one paragraph, and putting {{enwp based}} on the talk page isn't sufficient simplification enough for the article to stay around. It's fine to use en.wiki articles as a starting point, but when entire paragraphs are the same (or in the case of Nicktoons Nitro and the Avatar article I deleted yesterday entire articles are the same), we have a problem. Please have a look at this page before creating any more articles based off en.wiki ones. Thanks, @Lauryn (parlez) 19:25, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Simple English

If you are using Firefox, you can download a Simple English dictionary. This uses about 2500 simple words. Any word that is not simple is underlined as if it is a spelling mistake. This makes it easy to see what needs to be changed or linked. In this reply there are five words: Firefox, dictionary, underlined, spelling and mistake which would need to be changed or linked to. Rollback

Rollback is a function which enables user to revert all the consecutive changes made by the most recent user on a page. It is similar to "undo", in a sense, but it automatically provides an edit summary and in is automatically marked as a minor edit. As I said before, if, for example, "Vandal A" made three vandalism changes in a row to a page and another user uses rollback, all three changes will be "undone", replacing it with the newest change before "Vandal A". Way to go! :) In case you didn't know, people usually check out the New Changes or their watchlist to see if you've put up an article for peer review, so you don't have to say it to other people. New articles

Hi Nataly8. I notice you have started many new articles, but many of them are simply copies of the English Wikipedia article with little or no apparent simplification. Deleting a few paragraphs is not the same as making it more simple. I have deleted a few of them, but rather than deleting more, I have decided to ask you if you plan on simplifying them soon or not. You are still making many new articles per day and not simplifying them at all. Articles like Deus ex machina are copies from the English Wikipedia without simplification and are not acceptable here. If you continue to do that, you may be blocked. Please make sure you simplify each new article before you import the next one. I will be deleting them per WP:QD#A3 if they are not simple and issuing a block if needed. Adding dozens on new non-simple articles is not acceptable. EhJJ^TALK 20:16, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

That translates to

which makes a bit more sense.

Also, you can use this tool to translate from English into Greek, if you want. It makes it a bit easier to understand.

Don't get into edit wars, especially on user talk pages. Edit wars are a waste of time and clog up the page history. It is best to get an administrator to help out.
