change- Since you are blocked on English Wikipedia, please read WP:ONESTRIKE as this will apply to you. Thanks --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 22:26, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Thegooduser: Don’t worry, I plan to cause no trouble here. I’m tired of being blocked, and will do everything possible to stay unblocked. SithJarJar666 (talk) 22:29, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hey SithJarJar (or TE2017, it's weird with the different names :) ), hope your staying well - becuase you probably wouldn't see my reply on you're en.wp account, I just wanted to drop by here and just clarify that there shouldn't be any hard feelings between us - I'm glad you learned something from CVUA, and while it's unfortunate that two of my graduates have since been blocked, I'm relieved it's not from any faults in my training, and I'll continue training there. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I have your en.wp talk page watchlisted and will be the first to welcome you back and support you in six months! In the meanwhile, if you need any help, you can reach out to me here! One last thing - in editing here and at en.wp later, I'd like you to remember the CVU motto: Civility - Maturity - Responsibilty; I hope you keep those attributes in mind while you edit and I'm glad you've stopped socking, that's not how you become an established editor. Good luck and cheers, Puddleglum2.0 (talk) 23:11, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Puddleglum2.0: (Hey, I didn’t know you were over here on simple wikipedia!) Well, if I ever get allowed back in to en.wp, I’m probably gonna change my name-I don’t really like this one all that much. Thank you for the offer of help - I’m glad there’s no hard feelings between us. (Of course, I may not ask much, since there’s no point in acting like I’m a newbie anymore, though I actually did learn many things through my socking ordeals.) And yeah, I actually didn’t like doing the socking all that much. I’m glad to be done with that.
Regards, --SithJarJar666 (talk) 23:39, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

- Actually, there is a copy editing WikiProject. User:Pending/WikiProject: Copy Editors; not changed in 2331 days.
- So there you go. WikiProjects here aren't active for very long; compared to enwiki, you most likely won't get that many active members, but it's still possible. Can I Log In (talk) 00:39, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I have 2 wikiprojects, see my userpage. unsure if you want to join them/or interested --Thegooduser Let's Talk! :) 🍁 00:41, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
While the enthusiasm is appreciated, it makes a lot more sense to focus on just editing for now and worry about things like WikiProjects down the road. As evidenced by how long it's bee since those other WikiProjects have been touched, there's not enthusiasm for them on Simple. Take some time to edit and familiarize the ins and outs of Simple before worrying about the projects. Only (talk) 02:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Only: Sorry, it’s just hard to get used to the fact that the main wiki projects i joined on en.wp don’t exist on here, which is kinda throwing me off... --SithJarJar666 (my profile | my contribs | speak to me) 17:05, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

Welcome, SithJarJar. If you're interested in other ways that this wiki is different from others, you can look at this list I made that lists several differences. That list is not a guideline or policy, it's just an informal list I have. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:09, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Auntof6: I read the page and found it very helpful, so thank you for sending me the link. Good luck
changeI'm not active here, so I probably won't see you around much, but I'd just like to say good luck with the Simple English Wikipedia, and I do hope you can eventually come back to en-Wikipedia as a constructive contributor. I was surprised when I saw the block notice, but as Puddleglum2.0 said, I'm glad you've stopped socking. Wishing you well, GalaxyDog (talk) 00:00, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Categorizing
changeThank you for adding categories to articles. When you categorize articles, please try to categorize them completely. I looked at the three listed below, and the categories needed a little more work.
- Thai street food -- You added Category:Thailand. I diffused that down to Category:Thai culture and added Category:Food.
- Professor X -- You added Category:Fictional characters. I diffused that down to Category:Comics characters and added Category:Movie characters.
- Michael Müller -- You added Category:1964 births and Category:Living people. With articles about people, you also need categories from other things. These could include categories for where they're from, they occupation, what makes them notable, etc. I added Category:Mayors of Berlin and Category:Politicians from Berlin. (Those are not redundant, because someone born outside Berlin could become mayor of Berlin.) I also added a DEFAULTSORT, which is needed with most biographical articles. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Categories#Categorizing people.
I know that learning how to fully categorize is a process. If I can be of help with that, feel free to ask. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:25, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Auntof6: Thank you for the help! I will keep it in mind as I keep adding articles to categories... --sithjarjar666 (my contribs | talk to me | email me | see my enwiki profile) 23:24, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- You're welcome. One more note: if you don't know the year of birth of a person, you can use Category:Year of birth missing or Category:Year of birth missing (living people), depending on whether the person is living. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:37, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I had similar issues with stubs in the past as I initially only knew "biography-stub". What helped me was to look through Show any page and simply looking through similar pages and what sort of categories are usually used in similar articles to give you a better sense of more specific stubs/categories. — Infogapp1 (talk) 23:59, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
/*Advice On Salman Jaberi Page Deletion*/
changeHello SithJarJar666, I hope you're well and staying safe during these unprecedented times. Thank you for your feedback on the deletion. I wanted to seek your advice on where I went wrong with forming the wikipage, I made changes since your deletion request as I am a legitimate notable artist in the underground electronic music industry with all appropriate citations and references. Is it too long for the Simple English Wikipedia? Have I put in inaccurate details that I am not aware of? Thank you for taking the time with leaving me your feedback. I am new to this and I am doing my best to learn how to communicate and use the proper rules for the Wiki platform.--MembersMember 01:09, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Themembersmember: Well, you usually shouldn’t write articles about yourself. If you meet the general notability standards, eventually someone else who doesn’t have a conflict of interest will write it for you. Does that make sense? --sithjarjar666 (my contribs | talk to me | email me | see my enwiki profile) 14:54, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
Welcome
changeHello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:
- An English Wikipedian's guide
- Writing in Simple English
- Simple talk: our help desk, reference desk and village pump- in one page

There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need help. ~Prahlad balaji (t / c) 15:28, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

sub-pages
change- To work on a page without presenting it to the rest of the wiki, use the page title: User SithJarJar666/[whatever]. The "whatever" bit is given the title of your intended new page. This means what you are working on not a new page on the wiki. It is a sub-page of your own. When ready, you can simply present the result as a new page. - IRC is a fun place to hang out, like talking politics in #wikipedia-politics or random nonsense in #wikipedia-offtopic. The private message function does work fine. My problem is that my computer and connection specifically don't stay connected for more than a couple hours at a time. The main difference between IRC and Wikipedia or a message board is that if you're not logged in when the message is posted, you don't get to see the message. You can leave your IRC on like a net to catch things while you go do something else, but if your computer powers down or if your internet connection turns itself off and on again, you'll get logged out (or at least I do). My biggest problem is that I can't be logged in to IRC and edit Wikipedia at the same time. Basically, IRC is a nice place to make friends and socialize and a good place to get answers in real time if that's what you need--but it's mostly real-time.
- My "email this user" is open for a reason. PM me if you want to PM me. Like I said, I already posted the short short version of my how I was blocked story months ago, and I'm cool with that version. Darkfrog24 (talk) 01:44, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Using Wiktionary links in articles, such as in Lamborghini Urraco
changeHi, SithJarJar666. When I saw your QD request for your sandbox for Lamborghini Urraco, I took a look at the article. It would be good if you didn't use so many Wiktionary links in articles. Instead, try to find simple words to substitute. Wiktionary links are allowed, but they make the reader have to leave the article to understand the meaning. Also, if it's a word that we might have an article for in the future, it can be better to leave the link red instead of linking to Wiktionary. That way, there's no need to look for all the Wiktionary links to a term and change them if we create an article in the future.
Also, when you do use Wiktionary links, make sure that Wiktionary actually has the page you're trying to link to. You had a link to "predecessor", but Simple English Wiktionary doesn't have that entry.
Note that I am not speaking as an admin here. I'm just mentioning things that make the process work a little better. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:23, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Auntof6: Thank you for the input. I didn’t realize that I was causing any problems, and I apologize for that. Regards, --sithjarjar666 (my contribs | talk to me | email me | see my enwiki profile) 15:05, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Clicker Heroes
changeHi! Just revisited EN:Wikipedia:Stub and whilst there's no standard way to figure when does the "stub" tagging stops, I think this section is helpful. "or that the threshold for another article may be 250 words. Others follow the Did you know? standard of 1,500 characters in the main text. AutoWikiBrowser is frequently set to automatically remove stub tags from any article with more than 500 words." Since your article is currently at 283, I think that's fair enough for it to be not called a stub, so I guess that clarifies. With that said, I think it's settled that yours is in the clear. Thanks! — Infogapp1 (talk) 17:32, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Infogapp1: Hey, no problem. I had a feeling that if I reverted, we would be able to discuss the disagreement and sort it out. Gotta love the ability for humans to solve disputes. Regards, --sithjarjar666 (my contribs | talk to me | email me | see my enwiki profile) 17:36, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- Haha! I normally would just thank you for the reversion to settle it and move on. But since I tend to tag a few stubs a lot, I think it's a great personal note/reminder for me, too. By opening the discussion, it will easier for me to remember this instance. — Infogapp1 (talk) 17:39, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

- I'm using proper old-school desktop, haha. In general, I notice that formatting usually changes say when I edit a long article and then sort of changes the spacing afterwards, especially when there's sub-sections in them. I'm sure there's a technical term for it, just can't put my finger on it. I thought that's just normal after first edit (after an article was created)? I've noticed it happening for long articles with several sections. --Infogapp1 (talk) 00:14, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

- There’s no reason why an RFD with a very strong consensus couldn’t be closed by a non-admin. The rules allow this. I agree that they are not as necessary here as they are on enwiki, however. --IWI (talk) 18:32, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- @ImprovedWikiImprovment: Yes, but when an admin gives me advice, I usually take it. I don’t really want to be seen as a rebel and blocked for ONESTRIKE violations... then I’d never get unblocked on enwiki... --sithjarjar (my contribs | talk to the sith lord) 18:46, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, but I believe Djsasso is mistaken here. His argument is rooted in "we don’t really do that here" as opposed to the rules. --IWI (talk) 18:49, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- No I am not, it has been discussed in the past. Non-admins don't close discussions here. It is one of our differences from en.wiki, it is because we don't have the number of discussions that en.wiki has where admins can't keep up, so there is never a need to have a non-admin close. -Djsasso (talk) 18:51, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Well, this needs to be added to a policy. We cannot expect users to follow rules that are not written anywhere, especially when WP:FOLLOW usually applies. --IWI (talk) 18:56, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- We don't expect them to know it, which is why I explained it to them politely and didn't just revert them or anything else. -Djsasso (talk) 18:58, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

I’m really fine with whatever, as long as the block button isn’t pulled out and used on me. I go work on Lamborghini Murciélago now... --sithjarjar (my contribs | talk to the sith lord) 18:59, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Oh no, of course. I’m just saying that we should have this as a firm policy so that users who are not sysops do not close discussions in the future. --IWI (talk) 19:02, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- And this proposed policy is completely wrong then. We need to adjust this page and then make it an official policy. --IWI (talk) 19:04, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, it should be marked as historical because it never happened, which I have now done. -Djsasso (talk) 19:12, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Closing RfDs
changeWhen you close an RfD, you need to:
- Remove the noinclude tags. (I removed them from the one I saw that you closed.)
- If the RfD is closed as keep (as all non-admin closures are), put an {{oldrfdfull}} template on the talk page of the article. Please take care of that.
- Remove the RfD template from the article. Please take care of that.
- Move the discussion on the main RfD page to the recently closedsection. (User:Djsasso did that for you.)
