You can vote, but new users votes generally don't count as much. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask me. Exert 16:55, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Doctor

change

Hi. I just wanted to open your mind up to possibility that that anon was making a good faith edit to Doctor. I agree it was not helpful, but I doubt (given the details edit summary) that it was vandalism. I'd have put a custom message on their talk page rather than "warning" tag them. Just an FYI, just an opinion. Take care :) fr33kman talk 19:59, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I should have left a friendlier comment as the change was in good faith. Do you think I should change my message? --Tb240904 (talk) 20:04, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's up to you. You could just leave it as is (not much harm) or change it. Personally, I'd leave it as the editor has probably already seen it. Just think about it a bit next time! :-) Cheers fr33kman talk 20:31, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Michael Jackson

change

It's occured to me that my semi-pp on Michael Jackson has probably caught you in its net, as an non-autoconfirmed user. If you want to edit the article before the protection expires, ask any admin to unprotect the page for you and to reprotect it after you are finished editing it. (show them this edit of mine as proof of it being okay and not being wheel warring). Cheers! fr33kman talk 23:17, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks but I'm okay for now. I was going to update his discography but it can wait, the sales will change a lot just now anyway. --Tb240904 (talk) 23:34, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
And that's one of the important reasons we tend to semi-pp in cases such as these. MJ is a MAJOR news event right now, and as such the "facts" (or people's perception of them} changes every hour. As an encyclopedia, we need to be more stable. News is what wiki news was invented for, after all. Take care, glad you're here!! :) fr33kman talk 23:40, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Quick Deletion tagging

change

Hey Tb,

Firstly, welcome to the community - you're doing a great job!

When tagging articles for Quick Deleteion ("QD"), all you need to do is type {{qd}}. There is no need to copy the entire template or substitute the template as it appears you have been doing.

If you need any assistance, just ask.

Template talk:Did you know

change

Hey there,

I've just reviewed your hook at DYK, and i'm afraid that I had to "no" it because it fails to meet the most basic criteria - the fact must be referenced. Please read through the DYK criteria carefully and then try again. Thanks for your input!

References are also a basic part of Wikipedia, and all articles should contain some.

If you need more help, just shout :).

I got the information from a book. If I referenced it, would I be able to re-submit my DYK suggestion? --Terry Talk - Changes 14:38, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yup, if the hook itself and the article has sufficient references, then just add {{subst:DYKfixed}}, say what you have fixed and a reviewer will come and re-review it. Please do also read the DYK suggestions though as they give a better look on what hooks require. Thanks, Goblin 14:40, 2 July 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Kennedy!Reply

Holidays

change

Terry, I hope you have a nice holiday!! See you when you get back! fr33kman talk 04:40, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much. I'm back now, ready to edit. Did I miss anything important while I was away. I would came on Wikipedia as I had internet access but I only had 1 hour a night on my sisters laptop so I spent it catching up on the special Torchwood episodes. --Terry Talk - Changes 17:39, 11 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
A few things have happened. A quick review of WP:ST and WP:AN should get you up to speed. WP:DYK started using level 3 headings to separate nominations; there is a proposal to start up a en:WP:ABUSE page here (to report persistant vandals and people who make unlawful edits to ISPs etc.); there is a discussion about if we want to have local meta:Oversighters here at simpleWP (this is due to an increase in needing oversight actions due to a change in attitude by some admins (myself included), I'm pro myself; Bluegoblin7 resigned his admin flag; and there are some WP:RFDs you are welcome to take part in. That's about it. Glad you're back hope you had a nice holiday. Cheers :) fr33kman talk 19:40, 11 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
