Making sure you use the correct template is a big deal because say if you start off on a level 4 warning which says “if you do xyz again you will be blocked from editing” then you might discourage a good faith editor which we definitely do not want. Additionally, (as stated in WP:AGF) we always want to assume good faith, especially when dealing with new users. That said you don’t want to completely ignore the fact that a user is acting in bad faith when they are really not. A good rule of thumb is to assume good faith unless you have hard evidence that it is bad faith. Happy editing! --Examknow^talk 02:02, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

I tagged the QD under the critera G6 because it could be used in order to merge histories in articles. Wikipedia:Deletion_policy#G6 "Pages that do not need discussion to be deleted, for example if the page needs to be deleted to merge histories." I thought it was a valid QD that don't need discussion because the title is his common name and is the same for many other wikis as well... and I thought admins can only remove QD templates. Making a request at the admins' noticeboard explaining exactly what move or merge you have in mind might be the best way to go. The admin can decide whether deletion is necessary first. It is reasonable to request an existing redirect be quickly deleted if you intend to move the page to that redirect. An RfD to move a page is unnecessary, imo. Conducting discussion on the talk page (as it's contested) is definitey better than doing so in an RfD. Vermont (talk) 11:13, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

For technical move requests just ask an admin to move the page. en.wiki has a board for moves like this but we have so few that you just need to ask an admin and they will do it. We have an option on our move page that says delete destination page for these sorts of moves. An update to a template got pulled in with a different import. But it was for a related but slightly different template than what simple.wiki uses. Our template maps to another one of theirs which is for listing the links but for categories instead of articles. It is actually a good example of why I try to standardize the naming of our templates to match en.wiki except where it is a case of simplification. ie something like Template:Movies and Template:Films. As of now I just reverted the change. But I might think about renaming and adjusting twinkle to match, but that is a bigger job than I wanted to tackle this morning. -DJSasso (talk) 17:21, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Duplicate templates

Careful about redirecting templates that appear to be duplicates. They don't always match up with the code on the articles using them as was the case with the NBA team one you redirected and probably the reason it was never redirected. This was an inappropriate revert that is not within the scope of rollback. Even if worshiping was an incorrect spelling, which it isn't, rollback was used improperly as rollbacking simply changed what words you believed were spelled incorrectly. It would have been better to simply change the spelling without rollbacking it first. Regardless, I've undone your edits to that page as they were incorrect.
