Ad lib changes
changePlease do not make huge changes to pages which are well established and cover the issues properly. If you think something is not right, please discuss it on the relevant talk page. Macdonald-ross (talk) 19:02, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
- I'll explain a bit more. The main object of an encyclopedia is accuracy. Simplicity of language is an important aim for us, but it is second to accuracy, without which an encyclopedia has no value. There is no real conflict on many pages, but sometimes there is on scientific and other technical pages. On those pages it is necessary to use proper scientific terms and expressions because without that the text becomes vague or even incorrect. Almost all our scientific pages have been gone over with care to make sure they are as accurate as possible, and still simpler to read than the English wiki versions. If you think we have not done well enough, suggestions can be made on their talk pages. Macdonald-ross (talk) 19:39, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
- Rather pretentious of you to decide what is the main object is. Zedshort (talk) 21:03, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
- The issue has been discussed several times on the wiki, and what I said above is a consensus, not just a personal opinion. Replacing accurate text with text which loses information is not the way to go. Macdonald-ross (talk) 08:35, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, given that you were here briefly in 2013, and then only returned in April or so of this year, I'm not sure you have the right to accuse a veteran editor here of pretension. But the subject is, nevertheless, an important one. I'll move the current thread from WP:AN to WP:ST in the morning (US ET). StevenJ81 (talk) 04:09, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

changeWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make helpful changes to the encyclopedia. However, please do not attack other editors, as you did on User talk:Zedshort. If you disagree with changes, please talk about the changes and not the editors who made them. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about changing Wikipedia. Thank you. It is OK to disagree with another editor, but discuss the problem so as to reach a consensus. There is a lower tolerance for this kind of activity here. Please be more careful in the future. Rus793 (talk) 18:26, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
With regard to your comments on Talk:Star: Please see "Wikipedia:No personal attacks". Talk about changes editors have made, not the editors. Personal attacks damage the community and scare away users. Please note that more personal attacks will lead to you being blocked for disruption. Thank you. Rus793 (talk) 19:49, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors, which you did here: User talk:Auntof6/Archives/2016#Warning for comment. If you continue, you will be blocked from changing Wikipedia. Rus793 (talk) 14:37, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- I am less than impressed. Zedshort (talk) 14:53, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from changing pages without any more notices. For not Assuming Good Faith. We will not allow further project disruption and inappropriate comments about other editors, or their opinions. -- Enfcer (talk) 15:12, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
Discussion of simplewiki's goals, etc.
changeI wanted to make sure you knew that the discussion User:Macdonald-ross began with you at WP:AN was moved to Wikipedia talk:How to write Simple English pages. Please feel free to participate there in a civil fashion. I must second what Rus has said just above, though: there is far less tolerance for contentious discussion here than on enwiki. Assuming Good Faith / No Personal Attacks
changeThe last comments that you have made toward user:Auntof6 shows a disregard of our fundamental rule of Assuming Good Faith. We also have a guideline for no personal attacks, which clearly are present in this comments. Please refrain from those types of behaviors, as they are against our policies, and can result in sanctions. Please feel free to provide constructive input on the discussion at hand, and refrain from any negative. -- Enfcer (talk) 21:59, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
