Rating boxes
changeZzmonty, what exactly is your intention in creating the rating boxes that you are currently making in your user space? Per the several discussions at Simple Talk, the community does not feel that these should be added to articles at all, however, based on your wording of the templates, it seems like your intention will be to add these to article talk pages. What are you planning to use these for? Either way (talk) 22:05, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Re:
changeThis is true, but not everyone has Vista, most people don't have due to some kind of problem in the OS that I can't fathom, thus we need to do this anyway...You welcome.-- CM16 MLB 02:57, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Bot
changeHello ZZmonty,
I am not writing this bot to specifically change sexuality-related articles; When it is finished the bot will do the following:
- List Categories with many (probably more than 50) articles in them; these Categories probably need splitting up, or some of the article need to be pushed down into subcategories. This cannot be done by the bot, so they will be listed on a special page. (see Category:Religion for an example)
- List categories with very few (less than 5/less than 3) articles and subcategories in them. There are two options, I have not yet decided which I will implement
- Move the articles and categories one level up, flag the category for deletion
- List the category on a page
- As announced on the talk page, removing unneeded categories in articles; very often articles are listed in a category and one of the parents of that category. In that case the parent categories can be removed. --Eptalon (talk) 09:23, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Quick update: Until I know the bot works, all the bot will do is list categories with too few or too many articles; When in the second stage, implementing a mechanism to specify exceptions is not difficult, for example a list of categories (which will not be removed), or a regular expression of such categories; if the category name matches either the list or the expression it will not be removed. --Eptalon (talk) 14:44, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- Also, can you help me understand your problem? - You are trying to filter articles like penis, but at the same time want to allow ones like nudity - Nudity, eg. on a beach is not considered bad, but articles that talk about the ways humans reproduce are? - Similarly, articles on sexual orientation (some men prefer men, some women prefer women), or even more generally, articles like the Kinsey reports should be filtered?--Eptalon (talk) 14:53, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
An editor has requested deletion of User:Zzmonty/WikiProject My first wikipedia, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2014/User:Zzmonty/WikiProject My first wikipedia and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Auntof6 (talk) 00:45, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
