User:Derpdart56 change

I've gotten better at editing over the year I've been here and I'd like to start helping out with patrolling stuff. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Derpdart56 (talkcontribs) 15:58, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator observation) The user has created around 70 articles, most of which appear to be uncategorised, unwikified stubs. --IWI (talk) 16:04, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done We only give out patroller to people with a history of good articles. As mentioned by IWI most of your articles are not up to the standards needed by a patroller. -Djsasso (talk) 18:51, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Saroj Uprety change

I'd like to patrol new pages. --Saroj Uprety (talk) 02:31, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I looked at some of the articles you've created. The biographical articles I checked don't appear to me to meet notability requirements. Since the patroller right here includes autopatrol, and the articles you've created need patrolling, giving the patroller right would not be appropriate right now. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:37, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks, but all the articles I've made are from enwiki and they meet the criteria of notability there. Saroj Uprety (talk) 03:12, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Saroj Uprety: Two comments about that:
  • First, the enwiki articles may show notability, but the articles here don't have everything that enwiki has. You may have removed the part(s) of the articles that show notability. To show notability, the article has to state something that makes the subject notable and support it with a reliable source. As an example of this, Shirley Setia says only "Shirley Setia is a singer and actress from Auckland." Being a singer and actress is not notable by itself. Carter Cruise also doesn't state anything that indicates notability.
  • To use one of the same articles as an example, the enwiki article on Shirley Setia has a notability tag on it, so it may not meet the criteria there, either.
I didn't check all your articles, but those two are of concern. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:39, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
ok, Thank you. Saroj Uprety (talk) 10:12, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:ShadowBallX change

I have been editing here for around 4 months, with a total of 115 pages created, and 3 deleted pages (Two QD A3 from October, and one QD G7). I think I am ready to request for Patroller. ShadowBallX (talk) 16:07, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator observation) Statements are   Confirmed as per [1]. DJRC (talk) 16:18, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I took a look at a handful of articles and they mostly all appear to be single sentence stubs or close to it. What we need to see for patroller is decent size articles that show your ability to write Simple English. I am unable to get a sense of that looking at your articles. -Djsasso (talk) 16:31, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator observation). See @ShadowBallX:, for getting patrolling rights, you have to simplify the articles as well during or after creating it, as stated by Djsasso. Only 110+ articles created doesn't give you good sign to assign the rights. See WP:Patrollers for more information. You can still try you level best to do editing in this simplewiki.DJRC (talk) 08:28, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator observation) @TTP1233: I think ShadowBallX's articles were simple and good. No, they weren't the longest articles in the world, but take a look at some of them, they are not awful articles by any means, and they are definitely simple. --Belwine💬📜 08:32, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
oh and with "only 110+" articles being created, it is worth noting that Darkfrog24 created 168 articles at patroller request, which is not too far off, so I think ShadowBallX could get the patroller right in the future. --Belwine💬📜 08:35, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Correct! Still most of the users never get this right either of two reason. 1. User edited less that 3 months. 2. Article simplication is failed.DJRC (talk) 08:50, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Theirs were also mostly longer articles (ie picked at random from articles created back then Common mist frog). Single sentence articles do not really show that you understand writing Simple English with simple sentence structure etc if you are only using a single sentence. Remember the main purpose on this wiki of the patroller flag is not to patrol articles but to have your articles marked autopatrolled. Single sentence stubs most definitely still need to be patrolled. -Djsasso (talk) 14:39, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:StarLightMe change

I would like to request the patroller user right. I am free now and hoping to contribute a lot to the Simple Wikipedia. Thanks in advance. StarLightMe (talk) 00:21, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done sorry, but I'm not comfortable granting patroller to a user as new as you are (only 35 edits here on simplewiki), especially since the patroller group includes autopatrol here. --DannyS712 (talk) 01:35, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Android 2113853211 change

I created lots of articles, reverted vandalisms and warned lots of vandals. Android 2113853211 (talk) 18:59, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Two reasons: first, you've been here less than three weeks, and I'd want to see more history before giving this right. Second, I checked some of the articles you created, and all of the ones I checked needed some work. That's an issue because 1) patroller here includes autopatrol and your articles need patrolling and 2) that indicates you don't know what an article should have to be patrolled. --Auntof6 (talk) 23:45, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Ferien change

I would like to help with patrolling new articles. Whilst the articles I used to create were quite stubby, I think the articles I have been creating over the past couple of months are patrollable and I know what a new article should look like. Thanks. --Ferien (talk) 20:11, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Done You have the necessary experience in page creation and new page patrol for this user group. No apparent need to patrol your new pages; granted. --IWI (talk) 00:10, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:PotsdamLamb change

I wanted to obtain my permissions back as I am not making any categories when I am bringing stuff over and instead looking to find the ones we have that they would exist in. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 08:27, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6: since you removed the rights that were previously held, Special:Redirect/logid/1992585, what do you think? --DannyS712 (talk) 03:31, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Sorry, PDL, but not yet. I don't see much page creation since I removed the right, so there isn't much for me to go on. Of what there is, the two articles you created recently had only redlinked categories copied from enwiki, until I recategorized them. It's good that you didn't create the categories, but the articles were left with no live categories. I also see that some templates you created had either no categories or redlinked categories, so the same issue exists with those. --Auntof6 (talk) 11:57, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 I admit I do not know a lot about the categories, and I thought we had a master list that I can get to (maybe you can send me that). I did not know templates had to be categorized. I thought it was just articles. But yeah if I can get that list instead of just randomly typing things into hotcat that would help me. Also, if you have any good links for me on CATS, you can post them on this page. Thanks! PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 12:57, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't really a master list, you would have to search up the appropriate categories for the page when you create a page. A way I usually do it is to switch to the English version see what the parents of the categories on en are and work my way up the tree until I find one that exists here. -Djsasso (talk) 13:00, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Djsasso - Ok. I thought at one point I saw a list. Too bad we couldn't create one. It would show the parent cat then sub cats. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 13:01, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I suppose Special:Categories exists, but I don't know well that would work. -Djsasso (talk) 13:03, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Djsasso - So Templates aren't auto categorized? PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 13:04, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No we manually add categories to them like anything else. You just have to make sure to put them on the documentation page or within noinclude tags if put on the main template page. -Djsasso (talk) 13:07, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Djsasso Gotcha - Thanks for the feedback. That will help as I have one I will be working on and bringing it out of my space to main, but want to make sure it is correct and then make sure it's catted. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 13:08, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Djsasso - So I think I found it Category:Container_categories. Does that look right to you? PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 13:13, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That is a Category of categories that should only contain other categories. -Djsasso (talk) 13:16, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I think it’s a good start for me so I can see which ones are active and such. Off to work I go. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 13:24, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb: Articles, templates, and categories all need to be categorized, and probably some other things. I can help you learn to categorize if you want, but right now I need to be AFK for a while (to get some sleep!). Just leave a message on my talk page of something you want to categorize, or an example of something you want to know how to categorize. --Auntof6 (talk) 13:28, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 I’m open to whatever you want to share. Have a good sleep. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 13:31, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:SHB2000 change

I often just check Recent Changes a lot and check new pages when I'm available. I've got patroller rights on meta, as well as on the English Wikivoyage (part of admin package) Thanks, SHB2000 (talk) 02:28, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Patroller here works differently that some of the other wikis as it also marks your page creations as not needing to be patrolled. Because of this we require a fairly long history of creating good Simple English articles because writing Simple English is a lot different than regular English. You have next to no page creations at this point. -Djsasso (talk) 18:15, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Fixing26 change

I make quite a few pages and check NewPages often, usually alongside RecentChanges. Patroller would help me in creating and looking at pages. Fixing26 (talk) 18:12, 12 August 2021 (UTC)}[reply]
Not done Patroller here works differently that some of the other wikis as it also marks your page creations as not needing to be patrolled. Because of this we require a fairly long history of creating good Simple English articles because writing Simple English is a lot different than regular English. In looking at your history you do have a number of page creations but they are all pretty much stubs (atleast the ones I looked at). Would need to see a bit more history with creating Simple English articles. -Djsasso (talk) 18:16, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Derpdart56 change

I've felt like I've gotten a better feel for editing pages and doing work that needs done. Derpdart56 (talk) 17:46, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. You have only created one article since your last request, and that article needed patrolling done to it. I don't feel comfortable giving the right to you right now, sorry. --Ferien (talk) 19:50, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Was about to come here and say the same. Patroller requires many many many articles created and not just stubs. And they should be of the quality that they don't need patrolling and that show you understand how to write a bunch of Simple English. Patroller is intended for very long time editors who have a big history of content creation. We used to say the person should have multiple years here before they were given it, but we have been a bit more free with it lately. The idea originally was that it was to be given to people that were admin level in all but flag. -Djsasso (talk) 19:55, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Sakura emad change

hello 👋 i want this right to patrol new pages, and i know how this right works i've used it before[ckb], thank you ^_^ /--Sakura emad (talk) 09:40, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Thank you for joining us, but the patroller right here works differently to some other wikis, and requires quite a lot of experience in page creating here, as patrol here includes autopatrol. You have only created two articles, and they both needed patrolling in some way or another. Before granting the patroller right, we want to see many articles being created that don't need patrolling. --Ferien (talk) 12:24, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
i am working on it, thank you dear. Sakura emad (talk) 13:21, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Am I eligible for using patroller feature tool? If you think that this is appropriate for me then give, if not, then it's ok! No problem! Thanks <3 Xpërt100 (talk) 13:16, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Far too new of an editor on this wiki for this. Once you get a history of creating Simple English articles for a good period of time we can consider it. -Djsasso (talk) 14:01, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 👋, Patroller's Right, for duration of one month as a trial, Thank you --🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 15:33, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done We don't do trials of flags. Generally this flag is not given out until someone has a long term history here. Think closer to a year or more. Basically the idea behind this flag originally was that we gave it to people who were our best content creators but who were not already admins. Create lots of substantial content and in the future you may get it. -Djsasso (talk) 15:58, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Djsasso the request is for patrolling pages, which we have so many of them that has not yet been patrolled, i wonder if it is to hard to get patrolled right for a month or so. 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 18:29, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As Ferien tried to explain to you above this flag is different here than on other wikis. The main purpose of our patroller tag is different from other wiki's. We don't use the patrolling part as actively as other wikis, rather that is mostly done by admins and the few patrollers we have. Our patroller flag auto marks any pages created by people who have the flag as patrolled unlike other wikis. As such people such as yourself who have little to no page creations would have their pages automatically marked as patrolled when they should not be. The flag here is used more to lessen the work load on admins by marking experienced editors creations as patrolled automatically than it is to have other editors patrol. -Djsasso (talk) 18:33, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
ok i understand you want to see my works here before granting me further rights, it was just for Helping unpatrolled Pages    Thank you 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 20:50, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have been reviewing and tagging many new pages, and I have a lot of experience on Wikipedia. I think this would be a great tool for me. Mwiqdoh (talk) 04:03, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Your work here so far has been great in my opinion but for patroller, many new articles need to be created. You have created quite a few articles but I'd like to see some more experience with this before the patroller right is given to you. Please keep up the good work. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 14:35, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
