Signing change

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you post messages on talkpages and Wikipedia pages , you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ("~~~~") at the end of your message. You may also click on the signature button   which is above the edit window. This will put a signature containing your user name or IP address and the time you posted the message. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 18:04, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Okay. Noted. I am not very used to talking in talk pages. But thanks for the reminder! Hydriz (talk) 03:52, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's okay. Everyone, including me, needs a reminder every now and then. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 20:10, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Input header box change

Hi Hydriz, your input box above links to the talk page of the Wikipedia's Main Page. You might need to fix that. Well done on fixing your edit on Ejaculation, it takes courage to admit a mistake, so well done. Peterdownunder (talk) 05:23, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your compliment! I am doing this for the community. But it will be better if I become an administrator so that I can fight vandalism fast without having to get another administrator to help me with it. Thanks! Hydriz[Discussions needed] 06:04, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done. Input box has been fixed. Hydriz[Discussions needed] 06:12, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming users change

Thank you for the initiative you've taken on welcoming new users. However, please only welcome users after they have actually made an edit as per custom here. Thanks! Kansan (talk) 04:06, 9 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Understood. Sorry for the inconvenience. I got a welcome message without posting anything here before. Thanks! Hydriz[Discussions needed] 04:09, 9 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was doing some work on it (mostly filling in redlinks). See User talk:WikiProject Countries/Singapore. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 14:20, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Roses change

Hello, dear Hydriz! :) I've seen your frequent vandal-fighting edits recently in new changes, so I decided you deserve some roses. I am the kind of editor that likes to give out more small enjoyments (such as {{cookies}}, {{milk}}, {{smile}}s etc.) than barnstars, and hopefully these roses will act sufficient enough as a token to your good work.

Belinda has given you some beautiful, lovely roses! Enjoy the scent!

I do sincerely wish to continue finding your quick vandal-reverting on new changes! God bless you, and let me know when you have any questions or concerns. ingly, Bella tête-à-tête 10:05, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Haha, thanks! I would appreciate that! Do give out more to other people, or else they think their work is not being appreciated. Hydriz (talk) 10:07, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Haaaaang on a sec. I give way too much already, and you're telling me to give more?   Oh, no, that would certainly be sickening for all of the editors here! I'm already relieved they're not complaining on my talk page. ingly, Bella tête-à-tête 10:28, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mmmm change

Belinda has given you some Hot chocolate with plump marshmallows and foamy cream! Drink it up!

Hello, darling Hydriz, I was just wondering if you would like a small mug of steaming Hot Chocolate to warm you up after all that priceless editing I see you do. At first I considered making some coffee, as that sounds more elegant, but it's less good for your dear health; I actually think Hot Chocolate tastes better. Besides, marshmallows go more well with it than it does with coffee, doesn't it? Well, then, sip it all up! ingly, Bella tête-à-tête 05:55, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Delicious! Thanks for the coffee! Hydriz (talk) 05:55, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Simple News is for news about the Simple English Wikipedia and anything related to it. Hydriz (talk) 10:10, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Of course, but how is your political analysis related? Goodvac (talk) 10:14, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
This is not political analysis. It is a view about Simple English, which is the language used on this Wikipedia. Hydriz (talk) 10:15, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Apparently, you aren't looking at the right article. I meant "North Korea against South Korea". Goodvac (talk) 10:17, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh, sorry! But the article was published, or the newspaper has already been published. (I thought you were referring to my new article. Hydriz (talk) 10:18, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Another account for bot edits? change

Hi, what would you think about creating a different account, which you can then use for your bot edits? - This would make it possible to flag that account with bot status. Depends ofc how often you use your bot to edit?. As always, this is just an idea...--Eptalon (talk) 11:40, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I am acting as a bot. Those edits were made by me. :) Hydriz (talk) 12:16, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh you have to be kidding, most of our pages are orphaned. Please don't tag them all...it makes articles look bad and hurts the reputation of the wiki. Requests to do tagging like this have been denied in the past, mass work like this should always be put up for discussion before doing. What a mess this will be to clean up now. -DJSasso (talk) 13:53, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry! I have tagged about 1000 pages orphaned. I was using a robot and one admin approved of it. Hydriz (talk) 14:00, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Bot approval requires a crat and must be requested on Wikipedia talk:Bots and should not be run on your own account. -DJSasso (talk) 14:01, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
But I discussed it on IRC. Hydriz (talk) 14:02, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
No official decisions can be made on IRC. Everything needs to be done on-wiki. -DJSasso (talk) 14:03, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
But I asked about this. I even did only 10 to let them see. Hydriz (talk) 14:03, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
Doesn't matter, everything has to be done on wiki for request like this because not everyone uses IRC and there is no paper trail with IRC. I can't see what was discussed for example. If the request had been made on-wiki I could have pointed you to other peoples requests to do the same thing which have been denied. Generally on simple mass tagging has been disapproved of because they do more harm than good on a wiki this small. -DJSasso (talk) 14:06, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) User:TeleComNasSprVen was blocked for 3 months for tagging and doing repetitious edits like adding complex tags to articles like a bot. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 15:17, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay then. How are we going to fix this? Hydriz (talk) 14:07, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
I am seriously, seriously sorry about this error. As I am *new* here, I did not know of these objections being made in the past. Hydriz (talk) 14:10, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
No worries, the admin should have known better. I will leave what you have done alone for the most part and just remove some now and then. No use you doing more useless edits to revert it. Just know in the future mass tagging like this is generally not good and is often looked at by people as someone with editcountitus. Editors who do things like that often get chased off the wiki eventually for just trying to boost their edit count. Ask Razorflame. -DJSasso (talk) 14:11, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
I am seriously sorry for this. I deserve my sentence. I hope you block me for three months. As in, seriously. I want the other editors to know the consequences of doing this. Hydriz (talk) 14:13, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lol. I did not see. In that case then I will take a Wikibreak. I have to take a break. More edits will disrupt peace in this wiki. Hydriz (talk) 14:27, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Haha you don't have to but if you want go for it. -DJSasso (talk) 14:36, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Bye bye. I also really need a break. Hydriz (talk) 14:37, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) Don't forget WP:AGF does apply to your case. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 15:19, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

All I did say at the start was that if you think that for some edits you will use a semi-automated script, and that this occurs "regularly", create an account for such scripts; the account/user can then be flagged accordingly. I didn't talk about the use of the edits done automatically; because that is a different discussion. Before you ask, I was intending to go through the regular bot-flag-request process... --Eptalon (talk) 16:35, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Sorry for any confusion that may have been caused by this. On IRC Hydriz was asking admins about his bot. I said that only 'crats could flag bots, and that he really should go through the appropriate form and request the flag. He was already working through his 10 edits at this time, and didn't think those ten would do any harm. Had he continued to run the bot I would have asked him to stop, but he did stop at ten. Sorry all. --Gordonrox24 | Talk 16:47, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Everyone, stop it, please. It is solely my fault and mistake. I shouldn't have ran the script in the first place. Lets just enjoy Christmas and see me back at around June 2011. Hydriz (talk) 17:21, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Don't lay all the blame on yourself. To be honest, we need editors here and leaving until June probably hurts the wiki more than adding some orphan tags. I would like to see you back editing very soon. Merry Christmas :) --Gordonrox24 | Talk 00:53, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

A few points. change

  Resolved.

First and foremost, this. Aside from the fact it's extremely unconstructive in what is meant to be a constructive process (Why can't they be an admin?), it's also extremely rude, borderline WP:PA and extremely WP:BITEy. Telling someone to 'come back in a year' when the criteria itself is only 3 months isn't on, whilst then going on to tell them to 'try harder' is just plain rude. There could be perfectly reasonable explanations why the user in question only edits as much as they do, and I think it's outrageous that you're telling someone who is a volunteer to try harder. What the hell? If you're wanting to turn people away from the wiki, you've done a good job as there could well be a chance that the user in question now leaves because you've basically told them their effort isn't wanted. Remember you're already being watched after the little vandalism debacle, and I'd tread very carefully if I was you.

Secondly, I also suggest that you immediately alter your signature to remove the external link to your IRC channel for a number of reasons. Not only is it in clear violation of our Signatures policy (See Wikipedia:Signatures#External_links), but it is also extremely misleading for people who do not have IRC and click the talk link expecting to come to this page, as I did. IRC is optional: you cannot force people onto it by containing an already-banned external link so ambiguously. Consider this a warning due to WP:DTTR. Goblin 14:34, 18 January 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Yottie!Reply

Okay, I see your point, which means I am playing the bad guy. In that case, I can just take my hands off Wikipedia. Hydriz 15:08, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's not what I said, I just suggested that you tread carefully and think twice before clicking save... Goblin 19:59, 18 January 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!Reply
Agreed. I don't think that was what Bleep was trying to do. I really don't think this should cause you to leave, your edits are very appreciated!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 04:10, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Even that sig is still confusing. Remove those links from every letter. The one and only...Mr. Berty! talk~stalk 20:03, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
The sig no longer violates the signature guidelines so he doesn't have to remove it if he doesn't want to. The links to the bots are borderline but it's nothing to make a fuss about. I've seen far more complex ones. Goblin 20:43, 18 January 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Pmlineditor!Reply

Above change

Honestly? Offensive and degrading? How about being told to try harder and come back in a year. No-one was offensive or degrading to you, only warning you to stop being so bitey towards people. That diff stinks of you trying to turn tables onto Goblin for warning you by calling him offensive and creating drama. Normandie Talk! 13:07, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your feedback, but lets just put an end to this and not bring up the matter again... Sigh. Hydriz 13:09, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well you could have easily brought an end to it by either:
  1. Leaving it there as no-one had commented in a while. The thread was dead.
  2. Delete the whole thread.
Instead you have brought this up again by claiming people are being offensive and degrading. I've just taken the bait you waved in front of us. Normandie Talk! 13:14, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I understand that, but it is plainly for archival purposes. Hydriz 13:15, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Err... archival purposes? You know that that won't work? Anyway, my point is that no-one has been offensive or degrading to you, please fix that. If not I'll give you a standard templated warning message which I'd rather not do to a regular. Normandie Talk! 13:19, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your feedback on my usage of Wikipedia. I do hope that this kind of event would not happen again, but if it does (which I hope it doesn't), it is settled only between the both of us and third parties should not be involved. I am dearly sorry about what I posted on your RfA.
