Welcome! change

Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

If you need help just click here and type {{helpme}} and your question and someone will reply to you shortly. You can also check out the help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page.

There is a lot you can do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that have not been created yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Just remember you can not directly copy them. They must be simplified. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us. Happy changing! — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 08:38, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

RfD nomination of Iselin Solheim change

An editor has requested deletion of Iselin Solheim, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Iselin Solheim and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. User talk:2A01:B340:63:FEC5:... change

You don't have you revert every their edits, it floods the recent changes. If an admin sees they'll just revoke talk page access. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 08:37, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Fehufanga: Oh...thanks. It's usually quicker on enWP. NytharT.C 08:39, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
It is also preferred that non-admins do not revert unblock requests. --Ferien (talk) 14:52, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Ferien: I didn't know that, but unblock requests such as this...didn't appear too constructive :). NytharT.C 04:04, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah unfortunately non-admins cannot remove them. That template puts it in a que for the them to handle. Da LambTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 04:23, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

New articles change

Hi and thanks for creating all those articles. When you do then can you please ensure a couple of things are done before you move on.

  1. Place the stub at the very bottom of the article (2 full spaces down from the categories and nothing should be below it)
  2. Where you list the references please add {{commonscat}} and {{wikivoyage}} right under {{reflist}}.
  3. Just below the navigation bars please add {{authority control}}.

This helps in completing the article and also adds more information to it.

You can take a look at La Chapelle-d'Angillon where I made those adjustments already. Thanks - Da LambTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 07:58, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@PotsdamLamb: Yes, I saw your edit there a few minutes ago; I haven't made too many articles before, though. Thanks! NytharT.C 08:03, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
No worries just helping you get better at creating them and making sure they are laid out. There may be times when you bring something over that has a template showing red or an error about an LUA feel free to let me know and I can help you out. Thanks - Da LambTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 08:06, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
@PotsdamLamb: Thanks for that. NytharT.C 08:14, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
@PotsdamLamb: By the way, are the points you described above usable in any geographic article? Such as Mercenasco? NytharT.C 08:23, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
You mean like that? Thanks - Da LambTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 09:04, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

RFDs change

Hi, Nythar. First, I want to thank you for participating in RFD discussions. It's good to have people participating there.

Second, I saw that several of your RFD comments mentioned that English Wikipedia (enwiki) doesn't have an article for the subject. Not having an article on enwiki is not a reason to delete an article here. There are at least a couple of reasons for that.

  • It's true that enwiki probably has articles on most notable topics, but they might not have all of them.
  • The subjects of some articles here on Simple are combined into bigger articles on enwiki, so you might not see a separate article there even if the subject is notable. An example of this is 2010 FIFA Puskás Award. On enwiki, the individual years of this award are included in the main article about the award.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. -- Auntof6 (talk) 06:50, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Auntof6: I know! I say this sometimes along with other arguments because even IPs can make articles on Simple and we don't appear to have basic standards for articles. Thanks for the reminder anyway :) NytharT.C 06:59, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Elaine Denniston category change

This should go in some categories besides her birth year. Such as relating to occupation, but I don't know which category belongs there. Lights and freedom (talk) 04:29, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Lights and freedom: I can't think of any either. I'll self-revert. NytharT.C 04:33, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Striking out user comments on RFDs change

Hello, Nythar. I noticed that you struck out a user's comment at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2023/Alicyn Packard. Please don't do that, even if the user is indeffed or locked or otherwise ineligible to comment, because it can be seen as interfering with another user's input. What you can do is leave a comment under such a user's comment saying what the issue is. An admin may or may not strike the comment out, but they will see your comment. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 19:25, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Auntof6: They've been indeffed as a sockpuppet (see here). Are sockpuppets allowed to vote on AfDs? (at the English Wikipedia, sockpuppet !votes are stricken because of the obvious implications of sockpuppetry; i.e., editors voting multiple times, banned users participating in various Wikipedia processes via a sock (even though they're banned), etc. I understand that this isn't the English Wikipedia, but I still thought striking sock !votes (even by non-admins) was the least likely rule to differ (see en:WP:SOCKSTRIKE).) Offwiki message change

Hello I'd like to send you a message off-wiki preferably by email, but it seems you have emails disabled. Please message me on Discord, IRC or send me an email either using Special:EmailUser or to ferienpublic gmail.com. Whichever is easiest for you. If you are unable to do offwiki messages entirely, I understand but would prefer to message you privately. --Ferien (talk) 15:39, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Ferien: You can email me now; I've connected an account. NytharT.C 15:49, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
