Taxobox colouring

I'm coming round to the idea that we could use the even lighter version of all taxoboxes, by which I mean the furthest right boxes in the Simple talk discussion (under the incorrect heading of 'extinct').

In which case I could just about bring myself to give up marking extinct species with a different colour or shade. I'd like to find some way of flagging extinct species or groups, however. At present the only graphic symbol we have is the small tombstone which can be placed before an extinct group name. Anyway, my real purpose here is to suggest that you change the code for taxoboxes to the extra-light colours. I think this is consistent with our previous discussion. Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:35, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have been changing the fossil lightblue to our new colour on theropod pages. All goes well until I get to Therizinosaur, which for some reason won't default to our new colour.
We still have the old colours on our mini-taxoboxes on those category pages which relate to biology pages. I expect that's because they have a different parent template... Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:07, 14 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

RfD on mixed nationality

I was about to construct a list of all the articles that would need to be checked for this, when I noticed that you mentioned there are about 960 of them. Does that mean that you already have a list? If the RfD passes, I was thinking that it could be divided, if there are two or more admins willing to do the work. Of course, I saw that at least one article has been added to one of the categories, so maybe we'd need to make a new list anyway. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:37, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

DYK

Hey Osiris, how's it been? I added four DYK hooks since its time for an update. Can you review them? Thanks. :) --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 22:38, 14 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Better Vocabulary

Hello, Osiris.

I would like to know about vocabulary on Simple English Wikipedia. Which one is better between British vocabulary and American Vocabulary for writing on the Wikipedia?

en:WP:ENGVAR while from English Wikipedia also applies here. So giving it a read might help you. -DJSasso (talk) 12:46, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

RfD nomination of Template:Citation London Underground performance exits

An editor has requested deletion of Template:Citation London Underground performance exits, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2014/Template:Citation London Underground performance exits and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Auntof6 (talk) 06:34, 9 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

taxoboxes on Animalia categories

There's a discussion on Aunt's talk page about this. Briefly, your excellent changes to the Kingdom taxobox templates leaves taxoboxes on Category pages still showing the old colours. It would be good if we didn't have to change them all manually... Low priority, of course... Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:18, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Gramophone record

I made some changes to Gramophone record, because there were some factual errors. Would you be so kind as to check for grammatical simplicity? I'm just not very good at it. Thanks! 78.26 (talk) 20:21, 14 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Question regarding template

I was bringing over some infoboxes from en.wiki for the article Choanoflagellata and one of the templates for the fossil range was deleted on here, I was wondering if it would be okay to recreate it as it would be used as the current template {{Fossil range}} does not go back far enough as {{Long fossil range}} does I was wondering if you could restore it. So, I may include the entirity of the taxobox. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 17:43, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Osiris hasn't been around for a couple months so I will answer. I will undelete it if you intend on using it ideally on more than one article. It was deleted for being unused so as long as it is used there is no problem recreating it. -DJSasso (talk) 19:01, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Chinese man 38202

I'm really irritated with Chinese man 38202. He's reverting my good edits. I'm reverting his vandalism and he reverts them. Plus he wrote on my talk page that I'm the one vandalizing the articles and is threating to block me. Please I think a longer block on this user is necessary. He's being very rude. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 07:24, 23 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear Osiris, hello. I also had a rather bizarre message from a Chinese-sounding chap on my Talk Page, bottom. Could you please be kind enough to give it a look? He says something about an IP Vandal? Not quite clear. Thanks and Regards Hamneto (talk) 15:47, 29 September 2014 (UTC)HamnetoReply

Cite book template : separator and point anomaly

Hi. I have seen on Sun article that there are an issue at "more reading" section. I thought that it is a problem from article but looking to {{Cite book}} template I have detected a little anomaly that responsible about separator and point in a white large rectangle. You are the author of this template. Please can you fixe it ? Thanks in advance. Your sincerely, --Neptunia (talk) 19:36, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) @Neptunia:, Osiris hasn't been around in a while. We had a discussion about this at WP:Simple talk, but it has been archived. Your best option is to bring it up there again. --Auntof6 (talk) 20:22, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

La Grande Mademoiselle

Greetings I thought I'd just ask as I only just noticed that you had moved La Grande Mademoiselle despite her being known better as La Grande Mademoiselle than a majority of other names. Just thought I'd ask. Simplegoose (talk) 15:06, 26 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Titled people are listed under their name and title. Bonnie Prince Charlie, far better known, is listed as Charles Edward Stuart. Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:37, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Back now! Will start editing again by the end of February. Sorry for my absence. Thanks everyone for answering my messages. I could have sworn I'd left a Wikibreak notice. Osiris (talk) 09:20, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Welcome back. Worried something had happened to you. Figured maybe you were cutting it cold turkey. 2 weeks and I would have had to remove your admin bit so you were cutting it close. ;) -DJSasso (talk) 15:21, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well, a year later almost and I couldn't keep my word. Things have just been too busy IRL this past year. Now I'm about to do that holding-on-by-100-edits-a-year thing I always laughed at so-and-so for... Humbling day for me. Someone shoot me. Osiris (talk) 00:02, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nope, no shooting for you! Welcome back, again. ;) --Auntof6 (talk) 00:17, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
