Thanks for your edits to this article. It has not been deleted. I have rewritten it to make sure it contains the basic information that an article needs to be kept. Articles which are only a sentence or two in length, are often deleted. This is not because the topic is unimportant, simply that there is not enough information to prove its importance. Wilford H. Smith change

I marked the article patrolled after adding a source citation to prove claim of notability. The addition of dates not covered by the source citation broke text-source integrity. I separated the supreme court statement so as to match the source and statement. BTW, the source cited, p. 101, gave 1860 as a date of birth. I don't know the source of the dob and dod, so I couldn't say which is correct. I'm sure you can work that out. User:Rus793 (talk) 04:01, 7 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about breaking the text-source integrity, I will give it one more go though to make sure everything is referenced. I am still hoping that I can find his middle name and his full date of birth. If I can find him in the 1990 US census, I can at least have the month he was born in. I was moving quickly reading potential sources. I remember in one I skipped (for some reason) said his middle name was Horace. You might try a search with that middle name. Edith Claire Bryce change

I originally patrolled the article and seemed to have missed something. It turned up on my watchlist tonight and I clicked on the New York Times obit citation to see if it might lead to other sources. I was surprised to find it wasn't a link to the NYT, but to Find-a-Grave. If you're like me you just may have had two sources open at the same time and mistakenly copied the wrong url. Basically it's user submitted information, no editorial controls and no reputation for accuracy. I don't have time to get the exact guideline (Notre Dame is playing).   • If you have European ancestry you are related to everyone else in Europe at about 10 generations, most people only know 4 generations, unless they do research. You can go to Geni.com and see how you are related to each president of the United States. Thanks for your additions, if you need me to look anything up in Ancestry.com let me know, I have a paid subscription, and one for Newspapers.com. That seems about right. I understand the MRCA of all Europeans (except immigrants) lived only about 600 years ago. That would be about 10 generations or so. I belonged to Ancestry some time ago but grew away from it. At the time I was concentrating more on medieval genealogy. It might be more appropriate to continue any genealogy discussions via email. Creating RfD requests change

When you create an RfD request, as you did with Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2015/Lino Grech, be sure to add it to Wikipedia:Requests for deletion so that people will see it. It is also standard operating procedure to notify the creator of the page that it has been nominated (unlike the QD process). Thanks. I have undone your change to this article because "best-known" is not a peacock term. It isn't one because it doesn't "promote the subject of an article" (quote from the relevant guideline). Edit warring change

If you start reverting edits to articles, this can be seen as an "edit war". Wikipedia has very little tolerance of such behaviour, and this can often result in a user block. The article on Mabel Boll can not be deleted by you as some kind of "primary author". As mentioned in my last post, there has been more than one author, so it can only be deleted through other processes. In the English Wikipedia the primary author can request deletion. Making minor edits or adding a category does not transfer authorship, or transfer copyright, or every book published would have to share authorship credit with the book editor. Look this isn't working out well, when I create an article it gets deleted, when I want to delete it, you restore it. Lets part amicably. The articles were not welcome, and have already been deleted once, so let let me delete them. The only difference is that Auntof6 is not requesting the deletion. Hi Richard, I can understand a level of frustration when within a week we seem to be trying to delete your articles, and then stopping you from doing what we trying to do. However, we have our processes and they have worked pretty well for the seven years I have been involved. If you wish to part, then it is certainly amicable.
