Your "only" warning to IP user 195.194.75.218

change

Hello, Strauss. I noticed that you left a level 4im warning (also called "only warning") for this user. Those are not needed when other warnings have already been given. Level 4im warnings are not the next level in the graduated warnings. They are intended to be used when a user's changes are very serious from the beginning, such as when a user is making personal attacks or cyberbullying. If that is not the case, then the level 4im warning is not used. If you have questions about this, feel free to ask. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 17:45, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Auntof6, thanks for the tip, I hadn't realised all the speedy deletions had left warnings too! Best, StraussInTheHouse (talk) 18:45, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
The speedy deletions didn't, but other editors did. There's a glitch in Twinkle when it looks to see if there's already a "month year" section for leaving warnings: when it sees that the section exists, it leaves the warning at the bottom of the page even if the "month year" section isn't the last section on the page. That can result in the warnings being scattered among different sections, so you have to look around to see if there are warnings. Sometimes I combine them when I see that. --Auntof6 (talk) 19:14, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'll try that approach next time! StraussInTheHouse (talk) 21:53, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Refill

change

Hi StraussInTheHouse, Just wondering when you use Refill do you then change "en" to "simple" in the URL or is there another simpler way ?, I only ask as I've been doing it this way for yonks and as I said wasn't sure if there was a simpler way, Many thanks, –Davey2010Talk 19:39, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Davey2010, you can use this modified bookmarklet for Simple, however at the moment I'm running requests off a Debian server to get them done en masse. javascript:options='defaults=y&nowatch=y';location.href='https://tools.wmflabs.org/refill/result.php?wiki=simple&page='+encodeURIComponent(wgPageName)+'&'+options;
Many thanks, SITH (talk) 19:42, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi Strauss, Ahhh okay, Well thanks for doing these, many thanks –Davey2010Talk 20:17, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Davey2010, no problem, I'll be putting a report out in a couple of hours once the analysis has finished. FWIW, if you don't want it as a bookmarklet, take the line of code from my common.js (User:StraussInTheHouse/common.js) - I've modified it to work on Simple, there should be a sidebar link. You can test to see if it works on User:StraussInTheHouse/sandbox/test. Thanks, SITH (talk) 19:15, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Refs

change

Just notices that this change stripped most of the ref out of the URL so the ref no longer goes to the correct page. Have been wondering how many of your other fixes did this? -DJSasso (talk) 18:09, 17 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
