Hye, Eurodyne I reviewed your hook which is very interesting! I was wondering if you can keep these hooks going because we need them! Oh and can you review the rest of my hooks so that we can get that update. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 02:53, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yeah we sure do need to update the template. I'll review your hooks right now. Eurodyne (talk) 02:59, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Don't rush through an update, particularly as you're both nominating and reviewing each others. As things are slow going it is far more prudent to slow the updates and start to get a "bank" of well-reviewed hooks. Goblin 21:03, 13 January 2015 (UTC) I ♥ Kennedy!Reply

wealthy and rich

I don't agree that "rich" is a good substitute for "wealthy"; see top of my talk page. The main reason is that "rich" is ambiguous (my Concise Oxford dictionary lists nine meanings) whereas "wealthy" has only one meaning. And, neither is on the Simple list of words, so the changes are not justified on that ground. Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:45, 20 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

When the reason for deleting an article about a person is lack of notability, quick deletion is a better option than RfD. In any case, I redirected this article to the band's article -- that's what we've been doing with similar articles where there's minimal info about the person and the discography all belongs to the band instead of the individual. --Auntof6 (talk) 23:26, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguating "director"

Hi, Eurodyne. I changed your change to February 18‎, where you changed [[art]] [[director]] to [[art]] director. I changed it to [[art director]] because having the separate link to "art" isn't really helpful. (Yes, I know it was separate before your change.) It's better to link the entire term "art director", even though we don't currently have an article for that. I also added "art director" to the dab page. Let me know if you have any questions. And by the way, thanks for tackling the disambiguation of "director" -- I know we have a ton of things that link to it! --Auntof6 (talk) 05:34, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sure, Thanks for that. Eurodyne (talk) 16:08, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

A disambiguation tool

Hi, Eurodyne. Thanks again for all the disambiguating you have been doing! I noticed that you use popups to do the disambiguating. I used to use those, too, until they stopped working for me for some reason. I'll have to look at your js files to see if you have it set up differently.

One disadvantage of doing that is that it changes all the links on the page to the same thing. I wonder if you know about the dab solver tool. It lets you specify a page and gives you the ability to fix all dab links on a page, not only the links to one thing. You do each one individually, so if there are multiple links to, for example, "director", and not all of them are the same kind of director, you can fix them individually. If you'd like to try it, the URL is here. When you get to that page, under "Page title or URL" you type something like "simple:My page name" then click "disambiguate". (You might or might not want to deselect "apply common fixes" first.) Anyway, it's just another tool. Let me know if you need any help with it. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:43, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Auntof6: Thanks, I'll try it out. Actually, the tool is in my global.js file on meta and all I had to do was enable popups here. Let me know if you have any questions. Eurodyne (talk) 17:22, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I'd like to know more about having the global file. When you have that, is it automatically used on Wikipedias, Commons, etc.? Is there a place I can read about using that? --Auntof6 (talk) 21:21, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Since it is in my global.js, it works on all wikis that have popups enabled I think. You can ask Billinghurst for more information. See this. Eurodyne (talk) 21:52, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Just a heads up. We were both marking the page QD at the same time but it's a copyright violation. The page copied from is: http://eric.ed.gov/?id=ED542979 User:Rus793 (talk) 23:57, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I've tagged the page for deletion. Eurodyne (talk) 00:51, 23 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

DYK

I know that you're a busy user, but the DYK hasn't been getting enough attention lately. It is against the "guidelines" for me to move my own hooks to the queue because it's simply not permitted. When you're not busy, can you please help add the hooks in the queue and check the nominations so that they can be moved as well. I'll do the updating I just need the hooks in the queue for another update...this in fact maybe the last because frankly it's pointless of having something that's being abandoned. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 00:57, 9 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your joke

Your Barnstar Was EATEN BY A BEAR!

Your joke (or pun) this evening came at a time when I actually needed a laugh. So I was going to give you a barnstar but... it was EATEN BY A BEAR! This award is for good humor (and nice timing). User:Rus793 (talk) 03:02, 27 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dovrefjellet page language?

Hello, Eurodyne.

Could you lookover the language to see if it's not as complex as before? Thank you :)

Actually, I think this edit might be correct. Is there a reason you think the use wasn't a noun adjunct? I admit I wasn't familiar with noun adjuncts before. I had to look it up, but it seems to apply. --Auntof6 (talk) 09:18, 2 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I apologize, I haven't checked my messages in a while. I may have made a mistake on that one. If you think it was correct, by all means, feel free to revert me. eurodyne (talk) 05:12, 4 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well, I'm not really sure. I was just asking in case you were more familiar with the technicalities than I am. I do English tutoring through my local library system: maybe I'll see if the program I work with has any grammar books that talk about noun adjuncts. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:34, 4 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguating nationalities

About this edit: when the word being disambiguated means a person's nationality like this, it should be disambiguated to point to the entry for people, not the entry for the country (even if that entry is a redirect to the country). In cases where there is no entry for the people, it would be great if you'd create one: it can redirect to the country page if there's no actual article for the people. Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 09:26, 2 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thew Monkey's Paw...

Hello Eurodyne,

I am sure that I read the story somewhere, but I am not an English literature major; so my article paraphrases another wikipedia at best. Feel free to correct/extend, if you feel qualified.

And yes, that you. :) --Eptalon (talk) 20:30, 20 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yay! Thanks so much! :) eurodyne (talk) 04:44, 21 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
You can put it on your User page (in this or several other forms) if you like. Yeoman editor is a milestone and an accomplishment in itself. Congratulations. User:Rus793 (talk) 13:23, 21 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

For taking care of my talk page. Fun fact : Your rollback is slighty faster than mine, because you get yours in page history, recent changes, and diffs. Mine is just in diffs. Krett12 (talk) 04:47, 21 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your warning to IP user 185.22.183.203

When a user has not had any warnings before, as was the case with this one, please do not start off with a final warning. A user needs to have more warnings than that before we block them. Where possible, start with level 1, or level 2 at the most if the problem was particularly bad. This is especially true with an IP user, because we do not assume that all edits made by the IP were made by the same person. Warnings are intended for the person, not the IP (that's how Wikipedia sees it). Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:01, 16 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Krett12 and Only

Just saying but we just want peace between all users of SEW. --DonLandry2 (talk) 01:15, 8 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I agree and was going to suggest we stay out of eachother's way as much as possible, but I think Only will probably say "No, if you do something I don't agree with, I will tell you". Krett12 (talk) 01:19, 8 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
