Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need help. Rus793 (talk) 16:24, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Quick deletion of Bodo language

change

The page you wrote, Bodo language, has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. You asked me to help with this article. But it was deleted before I could finish simplifying and wikifying it. Understand that patrollers recommend actions for articles. An administrator then makes the decision. In this case, being it was a complex article, I recommended it be QD'd (Quick Delete). Converting a complex article from another project takes time and other editors are often busy with projects of their own. I took the time to bring it back with improvements to give you an example. I suggest you find more reliable sources for the article. We also need to remove any unsupported templates, categories, and information boxes. Also, the English Wikipedia (Enwiki or En) uses local images. We are required to use images from the Wikimedia Commons. Do not worry about making mistakes, just do the best you can and keep learning how this project works. We all learn as we go. You can ask questions on your talk page, other editor's talk pages or at Wikipedia:Simple talk. I'm going to add a welcome message at the top of the page. In there you will find a number of links to guidelines and policies of the Simple English Wikipedia. You should find them very helpful in editing here. Before going any further, however, please read WP:ONESTRIKE so you understand our policy on the subject. Keep in mind, our readers include children and those new to the English language. So we try to use simple sentences and simpler words wherever possible. Good luck in your editing here. Rus793 (talk) 16:23, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but "Bodo language" was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex. They need to be simplified before or immediately after being added to the Simple English Wikipedia. In addition, be sure to include attribution on the article's talk page. Thank you. Rus793 (talk) 14:29, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove quick deletion tags from articles, as you did to "Bodo language", without a good reason. If you think the article should not be deleted, please explain your reason on the article's talk page. Thank you. Rus793 (talk) 15:13, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please stop copying and pasting article content directly from the English Wikipedia. Chenzw  Talk  06:16, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Stub templates

change

Hello, Mr. Nijwmsa Boro. I noticed that you created a stub template for India universities. You probably didn't know, but here on Simple English Wikipedia we manage stubs differently from what you might have seen elsewhere. This is explained at Wikipedia:Simple Stub Project. We keep the number of different stub templates and categories to a minimum. Before creating a new one, it must be discussed and approved at Wikipedia talk:Simple Stub Project. Because of this, the stub template you created has been deleted. Feel free to start a discussion about it if you want to, and let me know if you have any questions. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:49, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove quick deletion tags from articles, as you did to "List of colleges affiliated to Gauhati University", without a good reason. If you think the article should not be deleted, please explain your reason on the article's talk page. Thank you. When an article is marked Quick Delete, it is reviewed by an administrator. The admin may decide the article is sufficiently simple to remain or may decide to delete. Again, if you disagree with the tag give your reasons why it should not be deleted on the article talk page. This is your second warning against removing QD tags. If you have questions regarding bringing over articles from Enwiki or about QD, please ask. Rus793 (talk) 14:35, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

RfD nomination of Template:Universities in Assam

change

An editor has requested deletion of Template:Universities in Assam, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2017/Template:Universities in Assam and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Auntof6 (talk) 08:08, 24 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
