Identifying vandalism

Hi Pratyya. You're doing a good job lately keeping the wiki clean! I just wanted to make sure that you're aware that Wikipedia:Introduction is a sandbox page, where new editors are encouraged to experiment with changing. You identified the change you reverted here as vandalism, and then warned the author; but it's actually a legitimate test on a page designed for testing. The page is automatically cleaned by a bot, so try not to revert changes to that page.

One more thing: edits that only consist of a string of letters that make no sense (such as wejfnwetnyxdt) are generally called test changes; they can only reasonably be called vandalism when the user keeps making them after they've been warned. New things

Hi Pratyya. Regarding some of your new articles, such as Gakkel Ridge, Cooling tower, ‎Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, European badger and Cyclone Mahasen... these are obviously translated from the English Wikipedia, yes? If indeed so, please have a quick look over these steps on giving attribution. You might have noticed some of the other editors doing this on RecentChanges when creating new articles. If you're reusing somebody else's work from another Wikipedia, our licensing policies require a link to show where you got it from.

Also, can I ask you why you decided to create Template:Polluted category? We don't have any bots that filter database reports for our categories... Did you have another purpose for it? I also don't understand what Boxing the compass is... Perhaps you could add an introduction for the page so that readers know what it's about? Regards, Osiris (talk) 12:49, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

I'd also like to know what Template:Infobox indian current is for. It seems to be used for the same thing as existing hurricane/tropical cyclone templates. The related new category, ‎Category:Incomplete hurricane infoboxes, could probably be either given a better name of just deleted -- I don't know that we really need a category for that. --Auntof6 (talk) 23:41, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply. I was busy these days. I created the Template:Infobox indian current to use it in Indian Cyclone related articles like Sidr, Nargis etc. For the Cyclone Mahasen we faced it.
