Make it much smaller.

Well I was reffering to all the IPs that vandalize. For I've been here for 3 days and the only vandalism I've seen was by IPs. ←Kalajan→ 15:54, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Yes, you've been here for 3 days, perhaps you should reconsider your actions, My advice would be to stop trying to change policy, stop vandal fighting (leave it to the seasoned regulars), stop pasting ads everywhere (which is basically a vandalism in itself) and get editing in mainspace. Your mainspace edits are only at 16%. You've been here 3 days and seem to think that you should go around fixing what ain't broke. Show us you can be a good editor in mainspace first. You're heading down a bad path! fr33kman t - c 15:58, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- I'm trying to make an improvement by adding those templates. Truth be that this place isn't
nothingmuch compared to en. Ps. There isn't much mainspace to edit. Also vandal fighting is great. In my opinion. ←Kalajan→ 16:00, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply- There's lots of mainspace to be improved. Pick a random article and check it for errors. If you don't like simple: don't stay! fr33kman t - c 16:03, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- I haven't got a choice really. XD. rv vandalism is mainspace, I'll follow your idea too though. ←Kalajan→ 16:05, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Why don't you try finding articles that exist at en: but don't (and should) exist here. Click on the source link, copy and paste it to the same page title here; then reword it using Basic English, get rid of formatting errors and then save it and add the {{enwp based|url=...}} template to the talkpage? That would be really useful work and wouldn't step on any toes. You're welcome to be here, but right now you seem to be disruptive to the project rather than an asset (which I know you really do want to be)! :-) fr33kman t - c 16:10, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

- Sorry! An assest is something that is valuable. Basically it is a person that the community has come to value because they are a good contributor to the project and help it grow in its main purpose; ie: being an encyclopedia for people with limited skills in English. Once you've proven yourself in mainspace, then you'll be more than welcome to venture into other areas. The other editors here have paid their dues in mainspace (notice that even the admins and vandal fighters keep plugging away in mainspace). An editor's mainspace edits really should hover around the 50%-60% point; yours should be higher than even that until you've proven yourself. You're here because you are looking for a second chance on a Wikimedia project. That's cool, we've got others in the same boat, most have succeeded. I think you could use an adoption; I'd be willing to do that for you if you'd like. Perhaps being under adoption for a couple of moths would give you some focus and help you grow here. Click on the redlink and bring the info over from enWP using my instructions; then when you've done one, save it and contact me so I can check it for you and let you know you're on the right track. You go do it and I'll wath the vandals for a while :-) fr33kman t - c 18:45, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Understand and true. But it was two days, it should have been a week before the ban was proposed. Not every one is immediately willing to turn around like I was.-- † CM16 t c r 21:12, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Normally I'd agree, but I think some of the reasons people were thinking of here were a) the reasons for the ban at enWP; b) the very first actions; c) the advice that was given, accepted and then ignored (multiple times I gave advice that he/she agreed with then ignored within 5 minutes), d) the degree of disruption it was causing to the project, e) the fact that one of the first posts was how to get around SOCK, f) the fact that their only real actions since coming here was to propose changes to the project rather than help out by editing, f) the fact that all this happened in the first 48 hours! A lot of "second chance charlies" may do these things also, but not so quickly, not so many and not after being warned so many times. fr33kman t - c 21:19, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Your edits
Thanx for calling my english complicated, lol. But do not revert everything as that constitutes vandalism. I undderstand you are trying to become administrator but that's not the way to do it. I'de like you to check Rudoplh Valentino page. It says he was Italian actor, but he made all his movies in America, thus should he be called Italian american actor?
- Firstly, I'm not trying to be an admin, lol. I have the right to revert anything that is vandalism, and actually undid your edits, rather than using rollback. I'd suggest you calm down and conform to the way we already do things rather than trying to impose your viewpoint on the already established viewpoint of the community. Please sign your posts with ~~~~, to not do so is against the rules! Perhaps you should take your concerns to either WP:ST or WP:ANI if you feel I'm acting against the rules and see what the community or the admins have to say to you about the matter! Good day! fr33kman t - c 20:41, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Talking to this editor will probably get you nowhere. It's another sockpuppet of the banned user Freddy. He has been banned here numerous times and keeps showing up, making disruptive edits. If anyone tries to fix them, he accuses them of vandalism.MKil (talk) 20:45, 13 February 2009 (UTC)MKilReply

- Isn't that always the way?! :) I'm dyslexic so it's even worse at times. Sometimes I have to close my eyes and listen to a screen reader so I can catch mistakes. btw: Did they arrest anyone for those awful fires yet? I was so moved to see the Oz PM comforting a man whose whole town was wiped out; he said that all his friends had died and all of their children had died also. Terrible! fr33kman t - c 20:54, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- They have arrested one person so far. The whole town of Marysville (pop.500) where more than 100 people died and 100 are still missing has been closed by the police as a crime scene. The Ballarat fire came within 300 metres of my house, so things got quite exciting. --Peterdownunder (talk) 21:35, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Joke warnings
Hi there. I don't think that it is a good idea to include joke warnings and block messages here on the Simple English Wikipedia. I would highly advise that you keep them in your userspace as they could be seen as offensive (if used against the wrong people), and because they don't really belong in the template namespace. Thanks, Razorflame 00:19, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- I disagree, Razor, i think they could be useful.-- † CM16 t c r 00:21, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- And how exactly could making someone think that they did something wrong when they really didn't useful? It is not appropriate for the Simple English Wikipedia, no matter what way you look at it. Razorflame 00:30, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- So no apology for implying that I placed them in Template space then? Oh well. Also note that any warning would be considered offensive if used against the wrong person, wouldn't they? fr33kman t - c 00:49, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Oh, I wasn't implying that you placed them in the template space. I know you put them in your userspace :). Sorry if I offended you in any way, though. Cheers, Razorflame 00:56, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- It kinda did sound like that Razor, apology accepted. I'm actually just trying to fix Twinkle, because a lot of warnings and notices don't work on it (unfortunately slapping in a load of redirects from the missing templates to the existing templates would probably not work). I also understand that there are some PHP code issues that I'm willing to look at. I am still planning on seeking consensus before moving any templates into production; as I would in any change I wanted to make to this (or any other) project (True European socialist here!). PS: How's the bot coming? You must be sick of getting messages about it by now :) fr33kman t - c 01:05, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: How's the bot coming?
Eh, it's coming along all right. Yes, I was getting a lot of messages about it, but now, they have all be taken care of. It has gotten a few more flags in the past couple of days, but there are still more that I need flags on. Anyways, most of the Wikipedias that I have applied for bot status on have granted me the bit, and there are only a few that don't want me to have the bit (hy, ko (for some reason)). That's one of the reasosn why I haven't been very active on here; because I've been busy getting bot flags on other Wikipedias. I'll be more active once I finish work with my bot, which shouldn't take too much longer. Cheers, Razorflame 01:09, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Well good luck with it. I do quite a bit of coding myself so can understand the issues involved. fr33kman t - c 01:12, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Stub templates
Hi there. Stub templates are only supposed to be created for articles and topics that have a lot of pages in them. Also, they are supposed to be discussed at Wikipedia talk:Simple Stub Project before you create them so that you have the community's approval beforehand. Hope this helps :). Razorflame 01:51, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Hi, very shortly there will be quite a few articles for both the nazi-stub and the police-stub. I have a list of over 30 for both of them. fr33kman t - c 01:54, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Sorry, but that isn't enough. Proposed stub types on that talk page that I linked you to had hundreds of articles that use them (some even thousands). When I say quite a few articles, I mean more than 100, although the community might disagree with me. I think you should propose the new stub types at the talk page that I linked you to first. Cheers, Razorflame 01:56, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- I was unaware that such a project existed on such a small wiki and was merely creating what exists elsewhere and doing so in the interests of the project and organization and using similar logic to the creation of categories (which are, after all a similar concept). If you feel that their creation is wrong, please put them up for deletion (a good chance to try out the new WP:MFD process). I will not oppose their deletion. Thanks for pointing this out to me :) fr33kman t - c 02:01, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- That wasn't what I meant :). Now that they are created, there is no need to delete them. I know that you were doing so for the good of the project, don't get me wrong there. Let me rephrase what I said earlier: In the future, please propose new stub types on the page that I linked you to. No need to delete the ones that you've already made :). Cheers, Razorflame 02:06, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- No worries. I didn't take any offense, honestly. btw: the Template:Police-stub over at enWP only has 16 stubs in it so I guess that 100 is too high of a number here at seWP. I'll take part in the dicussion at some point; when I've finished writting all these damned articles :) fr33kman t - c 02:12, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK, I get it now. Thanks for telling me! :) Versus22 talk 05:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- it's freddy again! I've been thinking about contacting a steward because there seems to be a serious lack of admins tonight. fr33kman t - c 05:33, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Offer
Thanks for your offer to nominate me, but at this stage I will say no. I would like to spend more time building up my skills as an editor and administrator before taking on anything extra. But thankyou for being prepared to nominate, and trust me. Best wishes --Peterdownunder (talk) 08:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- No problems, keep up the very good work :) fr33kman t - c 14:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Anomaly
I have been looking at the anomaly you discovered in relation to reading level data. Interesting, but I don't have an idea yet. I have been looking at the differences between different online reading calculators; one page scored 46.5, 52, and 63.1 on the Flesch, the same page scored 56 on MS Word's Flesch calculator. Quite a variation! --Peterdownunder (talk) 08:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Yeah, it's a strage one. Stumped me! fr33kman t - c 14:04, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Weespenaar
Hi former Weesper ;-)
Thank you for responding on my Dutch talk page. The problem is that there are 5 en:Five Dhyani Buddhas and one of them is simple:Ratnasambhava. Now Barliner has put the interwiki's of Five Dhyani Buddhas in the article of Ratnasambhava, while yet this article in en: existed. Subsequently interiki bots have added simple:Ratnasambhava to all other languages of Five Dhyani Buddhas, with the consequence that the interwiki's (21) have to be corrected of those two articles manually.
I didn't know Barliner isn't here anymore. I didn't look actually. I can change it myself too, no problem.
Veel plezier op Wikipedia en tot ziens! Davin (talk) 18:50, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The medal is notable yes, but that doesn't automatically make a recipient notable. Just like it doesn't make a recipient of a Medal of Honor notable (the US equivalent).-- † CM16 t c r 08:48, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- To expand on that after rereading your comment, I'm not saying all recipients aren't notable, some are, which again is the same way for the Medal of Honor, but you have to prove this particular one is by citing some of his other accomplishments, what he did to earn it, Peter establish notability for him afterwords with this edit.-- † CM16 t c r 08:59, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- I'd say that the issue of the VC does make one notable; look at the many articles on enWP where the only notable thing the person did was to win the VC (en:William Speakman comes to mind). fr33kman t - c 21:38, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey, that's great! I give you the page when I'm done. SimonKSK 01:34, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Thanks, I wasn't going to accept a nom for a while; but I think that I could make some use of the bit; given our current issues with a certain vandal ;) fr33kman t - c 01:39, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Done. Thanks. SimonKSK 01:45, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Thanks, I truly feel quite humbled by what you said, regardless of the final result! Thanks! :) fr33kman t - c 01:52, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks
Just a note to say thanks, Fr33kman, for your comments and vote in my RFB which closed as successful with 25 supports and no opposes. It is my second unanimous request, which I find astounding. In my previous thanks (from where I stole the code for this one) I promised you I would do my best as an admin. I promise I will continue to do my best as an editor, admin and 'crat, and I won't let you down! Thanks again, Kennedy (talk) 20:57, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply |
RE: Trombone
Yeah, I know, it's fine. On a day like this, with massive vandalism and high activity, when in doubt, I think you should generally revert. (And I've made the exact mistake before.) Good work otherwise, and good luck on your RfA! TheAE talk 04:13, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Cheers. The only one of us that never made a mistake, hasn't been born yet ;) Thanks for the backup! fr33kman t - c 04:15, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Burger King
Hi, I had a quick look, you are probably right, I will put an afd on it, but it could be a useful page with info about a major global burger company. --Peterdownunder (talk) 22:01, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Had a better look, this one is odd as it is a User page. I'll ask one of the others for advice.--Peterdownunder (talk) 22:05, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- That was my concern also. U1 and U2 don't fit, but G11 might. Cheers :) fr33kman t - c 22:07, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Yeah, I looked at it. I'm kind of unsure if it is acceptable. Maybe, but maybe simply advertising.TheAE talk 22:08, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. You voted weak oppose here and as I did what was asked, you could maybe reconsider. Thanks, Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 23:03, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Great job! Glad to support now. I'll try and work on the referencing and a bit more simplification over the next couple of days. It'd be a VGA then! Excellent work Yot! fr33kman t - c 23:10, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
- Thanks, no problem ;). I'm to to help on anything you want, whenever needed. Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 23:12, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
