Mark Donaldson

G'day Tholly, my removal of the French link to Mark Donaldson was entirely appropriate. There are two Mark Donaldson's. Mark Donaldson, VC is the subject of articles on the en: no: and simple: Wikipedias. Mark Donaldson, NZ All Black player is the subject of the fr: article and, now that I have created it, an en: article. The en:Mark Donaldson, VC page was subjected to continual inappropriate linking to the French page on the NZ rugby player. To fix this I have done a bunch of disambiguation work including raising the en:Mark Donaldson (rugby player) page, moving the French page to fr:Mark Donaldson (jeuer de rugby), linking fr:Mark Donaldson (jeuer de rugby) to en:Mark Donaldson (rugby player), removing fr:Mark Donaldson (jeuer de rugby) links to fr:Mark Donaldson and simple:Mark Donaldson and removing links on no:Mark Donaldson and simple:Mark Donaldson to fr:Mark Donaldson (jeuer de rugby). This ensures that each site only links to the appropriate corresponding individual. I have also provided a hat link on en:Mark Donaldson to en:Mark Donaldson (rugby player).

If you wish to correspond further, my primary page and talk page are on the English wikipedia (see links in my following signature). Cheers AusTerrapin (talk) 15:44, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ahh I see, my mistake, very sorry! I should have looked more closely at the content of the articles, sorry for confusion :) - tholly --Talk-- 16:23, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Localisation

Hey Tholly,

Not totally sure that localisation to Simple would actually be that worthwhile now, considering most - if not all - localisation has been done to EN. I doubt any users would either change to EN now nor new users look to change it to Simple.

Still, I don't think there would be objections if you did - just wanted to say "Don't potentially waste your time!".

Goblin 17:20, 25 June 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Kennedy!Reply

Yeah I realised that, but thought I'd do it anyway :) - I use en-gb and see "bot users" everywhere so am about to change those too! Thanks - tholly --Talk-- 17:22, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem at all :). Just thought I'd mention it! If you do want a hand, just shout... I have nothing better to do! Goblin 17:24, 25 June 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!Reply
Haha, thanks but all done now :) Congrats on sysopship btw - you weren't one before I took my wikibreak! - tholly --Talk-- 17:28, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hehe, thanks! Are we talking first time or second time here, btw? ;) Perhaps it should be a double congrats! :P Goblin 17:30, 25 June 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Kennedy!Reply
Twice??! :P Well that's a bit over the top isn't it? ;) Haha, yes, double congrats. Why'd you lose adminship first time then...? - tholly --Talk-- 17:37, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Haha. It's entombed in my talk archives, the AN archives and the RfA archives somewhere! All a bit of a mess that stemmed from one user's misunderstanding. Goblin 17:41, 25 June 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Meganmccarty!Reply
Fair enough, maybe I'll dig it out if I'm bored later ;P - tholly --Talk-- 17:42, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Flood.

Deletions should not be done with the flood flag because they need to be transparent. -DJSasso (talk) 18:48, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ah yes... Of course, that was stupid. Sorry, flag removed :) - tholly --Talk-- 18:49, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Not that I disagree with what you are deleting, but I remember a big fuss awhile back when someone else did it. So might as well try and avoid the drama. -DJSasso (talk) 18:50, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, we've been battling these for years... But I agree flood flag shouldn't be used, thanks for reminding me. Sorry about RC ;) - tholly --Talk-- 18:51, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
User talk:PiRSquared17#QD:A4 πr2 18:59, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well I've been using A4 for places since I was a sysop and no one's complained, and I know other people (like Chenzw) have too. To me the "No or little meaning" indicates something that doesn't really make sense, whereas these places had nothing to give any notability which is different. The policy may not include places in its list of A4 articles that can be deleted, but in this case I thought that A4 did apply. To be honest, there is often little between those two (A1 & A4). Hopefully no one is too offended... - tholly --Talk-- 20:06, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Tholly, just dropped in to give you cookies. Cool name, by the way! It gives a christmas touch. ;) Even though it's summer in Korea.... Well, I'm glad you're back, wikipedia needs you and loves you. Enjoy your cookies, and don't forget to excercise after you eat them :p!

Yours Sincerely,
