RE:

"Please remember to add interwiki links to articles that you create. This is important because it helps editors from other Wikipedias navigate to our version of the article and vice versa."

What is a interwiki?

(are you able to give an example?)

Runningblader 01:52, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I am most certainly able to give you an example. An interwiki is a link that allows a user that is viewing an article to check and read other articles from other language Wikipedias quickly without having to type it into their address bar.
They are usually placed at the very bottom of an article, and they use the language code to identify which Wikipedia it comes from. The language code is what you type in before the wikipedia.org in the address bar. For example, this Wikipedia's language code is simple. If I wanted to add an interwiki link from this Wikipedia on another Wikipedia, say, for example, the English Wikipedia, I would load the English Wikipedia's version of said article and add this to the bottom of the article (make sure to alphabatize them): simple:<insert article name here> You would replace the <insert article name here> with the name of the article.
For example, if I wanted to add an interwiki to the article Magnetism for the English Wikipedia, I would add this to the bottom of the article Magnetism: en:Magnetism
It's that simple. If you need more help, please let me know on my talk page. Cheers, Razorflame 01:58, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
If i get info on OGame off of English Wikipedia. Do do I add en:OGame at the bottom?

Runningblader 02:02, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that's exactly right, however, you need not get information from that Wikipedia's article in order to put it onto an article. In fact, you can just put in onto an article if that article exists on that Wikipedia. Cheers, Razorflame 02:05, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Very well, but isn't there bots that do the ones that are in a differnt language?

--Runningblader 02:09, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is. The only one that you should worry about is the English interwiki. So long as an article has at least 1 interwiki, the bot will be able to add the others to it. Cheers, Razorflame 02:11, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mission

What did I mess up for the article mission?

Runningblader 02:11, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

You didn't mess anything up. In fact, you did everything right! The only thing that you didn't do correctly was the interwiki link. You got the basic idea down, but interwiki links (as far as I know), are case-sensitive. If an article exists on another Wikipedia, you need to make sure that you type in the name of the article the same way that it does at the top of the page. Also, when dealing with articles like Mission, it is a good idea to first check the English Wikipedia to see if it is a disambiguation page. A disambiguation page is a type of article that says all the different meanings for that word, and/or all of its different uses. The article that exists currently at Mission is closest to the English article en:Mission statement. Mission is a disambiguation page on the English Wikipedia, so it should also be a disambiguation page here. Cheers, Razorflame 02:17, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the welcome

Hi, thanks for the welcome message. Interesting that I've been editing since 2006 and it's the first time I've been welcomed. :) ONUnicorn (talk) 02:25, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'll give you the standard welcome that I give to any new user now. Cheers, Razorflame 02:25, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

You Notice?

Have you noticed my editing at all? It's mostly QDs. Due to vandalism. Speaking of vandalism. I was wondering if you would like to join Wikiproject Anti-Vandalism.

Runningblader 02:49, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not to contradict what you just said, but most of your articles have not been helping to revert vandalism. Most of them, in fact, have been to improving articles. As for the WikiProject Vandalism, as much as I would like to join it, I am already the creator of a WikiProject, and that takes most of the time that I spend on this site. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind joining it. Cheers, Razorflame 02:51, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: To-do list

I think that I can do some. But I know so little about Greece or the Flag of Romania (I mean, what does this mean?) I'll try to do some things to expand them a bit, but I wont be on much tomorrow (church). Both look very complicated to me. Did you see the sig? (I think you may know what I am talking about, without going further) Cheers --  AmericanEagle  03:53, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I saw the signature. Just let it be...it will eventually get changed. Cheers, Razorflame 03:55, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE:

I'd be happy to help you with Romania. I'll add the government section later or tomorrow, as I don't have enough time right now. I've looked at the section on enWP, some of the words are hard for me to comprehend it also, but I'll use wiktionary and enWP articles. I think that the Romania article has the potential to be a good article or even a very good article in the future.

I'll review you and the other editors in a minute. It is a good idea to add the WP:ER link on the main page, to make it more accesable to all editors.

I got a little bored with creating asteroid articles a while ago, so I've been taking a break. Don't worry, I'll be creating more articles (see below).

The guy who was creating all the sockpuppets was definately trying to test our patience. He/she seems to have stopped for now.

Wow that's a lot of articles to create on rivers of Romania! If you like I could help you on rivers, and you could ask editors you think would be willing to help. It would probably take several months to create all the 8,000+ articles alone.

While I do think it would be a good idea to try to write articles, I'd say stick to creating stubs if you want, just as long as they aren't short enough to meet QD criteria, but I think that you should expand some articles too. There is no problem with stubs; some of our best articles started out as stubs.

Thank you for notifying me about the WikiProject, I will join. I'd be happy to help. After I'm finished the islands, I'll probably start creating articles on cities and counties in Canada (I know a lot of the cities in Ontario and British Colombia, and a lot of the counties in southwestern Ontario). Then I'll be creating lots of articles with you again :-)

Cheers and happy editing,--  Lights  talk  22:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would like to point out to you that I didn't really ask for you to review me, I was just trying to increase your awareness in the page because it seems as though you've turned a deaf ear to it. Thanks for the barnstar! Sorry for snapping at you earlier. But everytime I logged on here to edit it seemed like you were pointing out another thing I was doing not to your liking. I understand completely. I was just trying to help you get acclimatized to this Wikipedia more easily. When you make a new page, please remember to change External links to Other websites, as that is the norm on this Wikipedia. Thanks, Razorflame 21:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

How small

This is a small wiki. Every time I go somewhere I see you, Gwib, American Eagle, Running blader, Microchip18, or Archer7. It is small huh?Mattkenn3 talk 19:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC) Reply

We like to say: Growing... :) It is pretty small, but of our top twenty or so editors, we're very active. I fixed a few names above, unless he wanted to be called "Running-Bladder." But we have more active editors then the above 6. It's more like 25-30+. Oh wait, make that 31.... :) Cheers --  AmericanEagle  20:18, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
We have around 25-30 active editors on this site. Therefore, we are pretty small in comparison to other Wikipedias :) Razorflame 21:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry, but I am not yet ready. It's only been a month since my last Request for Adminship, so I do not think that it is a good idea to run one right now. RE: Conflicts

Very good job on your message to Djsasso. It sounded very sincere and sorry. You're welcome for the review. You mean the RfA joke, is it not true? lol. I will be on/off today. Cheers --  AmericanEagle  17:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean by RfA joke? Razorflame 19:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
"I haven't seen your name on any RfA's this week." What, was that not what was humorous? --  AmericanEagle  19:02, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
To tell you the truth, I didn't really get it...Razorflame 19:04, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Than what "got you laughing a little bit"? What I meant was that you've had an RfA about every week since I've been here. This was your first review (since I've been here) that wasn't right after a failed RfA. Cheers --  AmericanEagle  19:09, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
The part about, without tripping up is what got me laughing. And I do realize that that was the first time that you have ever reviewed me since you actually became a member of this site. Cheers, Razorflame 19:11, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. Now that I think about that, that would either be really mean, or sarcastically funny. When I wrote it I really wasn't trying to be funny, but now that I think about it, I see. I had never reviewed you before? Hmm. I didn't know that. Cheers --  AmericanEagle  19:21, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I assure you that I was not trying to be mean towards you :). Yes, as far as I am concerned, you hadn't reviewed me before the review you gave me earlier this week. Cheers, Razorflame 23:49, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, no. It thought that my saying that could be thought to be mean, not you! Just clearing that up. You've always been nice (at least, to me. lol). I've been working more on Charles Spurgeon. I have now worked it out, but even after it became a GA, the whole church situation I couldn't figure out. But I got that. I have just searched so many things related to him. I just got rid of some wrong references, added several, not to bore you further... :) I'm not sure what is happening in my family tomorrow and Sunday, I may or may not be editing. Probably will. Cheers --  AmericanEagle  00:25, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hope to see you on sometime this weekend, then :). I will not be on on the 8th of June for personal reasons. Cheers, Razorflame 02:32, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also, since you put something my my To-Do List, would you go through Charles Spurgeon and put fact template where it is needed (I can find any reference on him, I just want to know what needs it, I have found so much information on him). Or anybody else who reads it and wants to. Cheers --  AmericanEagle  00:37, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done. I've tagged the whole article with fact templates. As a special gift, I have even copyedited the whole article for you. Cheers, Razorflame 02:32, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for copyediting it. I have added several (all you put) references. It's getting there... Cheers --  AmericanEagle  03:47, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem. Glad I could help you make Charles Spurgeon a better article :) Razorflame 03:50, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Documents vs. Manuscripts.

Hello Razorflame, A document can be anything, such as the bill of your last shopping, a shopping list, a contract, a payment notice. A manuscript is something else. I don't know if you had (or even enjoyed) Latin at school, but manuscript comes from 'manu scribere (that is to say, write with the hand. Therefore, a manuscript was originally something handwritten. Later, when there was printing the word also got other meaninings. Looking at all the languages I know they either have Manuscript (in some form: Spanish and Portugue: manuscrito, French: manuscrit, Russian (no, I don't know that one, I can read Cyrillic though: Manuscript (trasliterated), Romanian (I don't know that one either): manuscris, German: Manuskript or Handschrift, Dutch Handschrift, Danish: Manuskript).

English (350 million native speakers, about the same number of second language people) Spanish (About 500 million native speakers, about 300 million second-language) and French (100 million native speakers) are among the languages most often learnt as a second language. They have words very similar to Manuscript.

So please don't tell me that manuscript is harder to understand than Document.--Eptalon (talk) 10:51, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. I didn't know that. Since I haven't taken any formal Latin classes, I had no idea about the origins of the word manuscript. I just wanted to let you know that the last thing that you said in this message was not very nice. There were other ways that you could have said that to make it sound nicer. Is that what everyone on here does when someone makes a mistake? If that is, then I don't see any reason why I should want to edit this site anymore. Razorflame 19:02, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry, I might definitely missed the tone in my post above. The basic message is: Manuscript is a Latin word. Many Romance languages have the word as such. Many of the non-Romance languages (at least those I know) have either taken it directly, or translated it, rather directly, in the case of German and Dutch. --Eptalon (talk) 19:12, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's all right. I understand that we all have our times when we act a little odd, so it is alright :). Thanks for clarifying this for me :) Cheers, Razorflame 19:15, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

QD: Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

Hi Razorflame, I see you put a quick deletion on the article on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. I agree, it was pretty bad - just nonsense. If you feel that a page is not notable, please place this on the page instead of just deleting it: A4. That will tag the page for quick deletion under the non-notable section of the Wikipedia:Deletion policy. Cheers, Razorflame 01:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I will write what I think about the idea now. Just a note, but you should take a look at the response I gave you on your review page. Cheers, Razorflame 08:50, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was wondering if there was a rollback-like tool here. If you look at this user's contributions, you should see some rollback-like edit summaries. --RyanCross (talk) 09:23, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
The reason why that user has the rollback function is because he is an administrator on this site. He is inactive, though.
As to the rollback question, there is no non-administrator rollback function on this Wikipedia because of the fact that we don't have enough vandalism to warrant it like the English Wikipedia does. Cheers, Razorflame 09:25, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit

Hi Razorflame - in this edit you changed the headings of the sections but not the words in the sections themselves. Could you take another look at it to make sure it's all correct? Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 09:03, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: Your message

Well I'm not that kind of a novice I'm an administrator at Commons, I know how to edit and all that the issue was about some shortcuts. Best regards, --Kanonkas(talk) 16:09, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your revert

This is a nonsense edit. "Talky talky'? Try reading it carefully again. Thanks, Ryan†Cross (talk) 01:26, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

However, while some of it was nonsense, some of the edit was correct. I've already changed the edit to make it sound better than the IP's edit. The main reason why I reverted it was so that I could change the edit that the IP made to make it more suitable for this website. Cheers, Razorflame 01:28, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

RfA spam

Cheers, Razorflame 21:37, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

A belated thanks...

...for the welcome. Of course, I really had no choice in registering (that accursed SUL!...) but I guess I can spend some time here. Now, if only I could find the anti-vandal tools (then of course, simplewiki doesn't get that much vandalism, does it?)... 21655 (talk) 18:36, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually it does get some vandalism here and there. If you go to Special:Preferences ---> Gadgets, you'll see navigation popups and Vandal warner at the bottom. Those are really the only tools here. There's no rollback here, by the way. -- Ryan†Cross (talk) 19:01, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Correction, there is no non-administrator rollback like on the English Wikipedia, but administrators still have access to the tool. Cheers, Razorflame 21:37, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your RfA

Sorry about your RfA. I would have supported you, but policies state that new users cannot !vote on RfAs that were being help when you created an account. I heard you'll try around September? Personally, I think you should wait longer than 4 months. If you wait longer, you'll have a better change at having a successful RfA. I running probably around August or September, or whenever I'll be ready basically. -- Ryan†Cross (talk) 22:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Whenever you run your RfA, I will run my RfA at the same time :). Cheers, Razorflame 02:04, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
The exact same time? Well, okay... it's your RfA. Cheers, Ryan†Cross (talk) 03:19, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not the exact same time, but relatively close to yours. Cheers, Razorflame 00:37, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

HELP

I know this might sound annoying and I don't want to waste your time but can you help me write simple english? Baseball16 Talk to me My Edits 03:20, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The easiest way to write in Simple English is to shorten the sentences that you use, simplify the wording that you use, and make sure to keep the fluidity of the sentence that you were using as the basis of what you were trying to write. Cheers, Razorflame 00:09, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hallo

Guten tag! Ich sehen ihre babelbox. Ich keine spreche Deutsch in einem langen zeit. Es ist nicht so gut, Ja? Ich komme aus Schottland. Ich erlernte Deutsches in der Schule, vor zwei Jahre.

Sorry if I have confused you, just wanted to have a convo in basic German, as I noticed you speak a small amount too! Mine is not so good, and I admit I used a translator for some words as I couldn't remember some of them. I need to get used to it again... ← κεηηε∂γ (talk) 13:27, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I speak very, very little German. The only things that I know how to say are Guten tag, Guten morgen, Hallo, and that it about it. I figured that that would qualify for basic German speech, but now I am not too sure. Cheers, Razorflame 17:40, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I see. No worries. Maybe I can bump up my babel number for German then :P ← κεηηε∂γ (talk) 09:05, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

So at the moment, I can't get on to Answers, sadly. Cheers -- America †alk 04:08, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

My Request for Adminship

wikibreak + you can check I'm rated #17 (only #43 here on Simple) on another wikipedia wiki where I never applied as admin

On http://stats.wikimedia.org/wikiquote/HE/TablesWikipediaFR.htm you can check I'm rated #17 (only #43 here on Simple) on another wikipedia wiki where I never applied as admin. Therefore, you made a wrong guess saying in Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/ONaNcle that I "have shown no need for the tools" especially the UWP one. BTW, could you manage to protect my talk page since I'm taking a long wikibreak because exhausted after fighting all those people against me. ONaNcle (talk) 07:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why did you call me "TRM"?

Why did you call me "TRM"?

Do not confuse me with the Rambling Man. Use User talk:The Rambling Man to communicate with TRM.

Instead of being bold, Creol chose to drive TRM off Simple English Wikipedia by voting Strong Oppose and describing the article as "a thousand paper cuts". I think TRM was a good editor, though. 68.96.213.118 (talk) 05:56, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Are you saying that you aren't TRM? Razorflame 05:59, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I am saying that I am not TRM. 68.96.213.118 (talk) 06:10, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you aren't, then how do you explain the fact that you know about why he left, in addition to continuing to work on Jessica Alba? Cheers, Razorflame 06:11, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was reading the Recent Changes, as I do frequently, and I saw WP:PVGA. I saw that Creol was complaining about the article's problems. It just happened to be the current one on review. I have edits here prior to the ones about Jessica Alba. I can't explain why TRM's status says Online on en.wikipedia; it is purely coincidental. 68.96.213.118 (talk) 06:16, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
This IP was editing before TRM departed. I hightly doubt TRM would edit with his real account and under an IP simultaneously. Even more is the fact that TRM lives in GMT +0 (based on the fact that he started this rfd at 13:50 my time and marked an end date of 20:50), and this IP resolves to Atlanta, Georgia, GMT -5. Geographically, it's an ocean apart. Cassandra 06:17, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for grilling you like this :P It's just that I really want him to come back, and when I saw you, an IP address, editing Jessica Alba, I thought you might've been TRM using an IP Address to edit here. Sorry for the confusion and I hope that I didn't offend you. Cheers, Razorflame 06:18, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) I am nowhere near Atlanta, I am on the other side of the US. But Cassandra is right; it is highly improbable that TRM would do this. Thank you for apologising. 68.96.213.118 (talk) 06:20, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

(Unindenting) In addition, I believe that you checked the WHOIS for my ISP (instead of where it geolocates to), Cox, whose headquarters are in Georgia. But I live in the western US. 68.96.213.118 (talk) 06:23, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Do you want to create an account here on the Simple English Wikipedia? If you were to create an account, you would be able to have access to more things, as well as gain credit for your hard work and edits that you put onto this Wikipedia. If you would like to create an account, let me know, and I can help you do it :) Cheers, Razorflame 06:24, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I waas comtemplating creating an account in the future, but not now. 68.96.213.118 (talk) 06:27, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was lazy and used the WHOIS down at the bottom of your contributions page, which is indeed the ISP and resolved to their headquarters. Some more wrangling around has led me to the new location of Las Vegas, Nevada – is that correct, or is the geolocator inaccurate in this case? Cassandra 06:29, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

What about it? Cheers, Razorflame 11:57, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I forgot about it as well :P Will continue searching for it. Chenzw  Talk  12:08, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Cassandra's comment about this IP user being a Cox user from Las Vegas reminded me of a certain person. One of our blocked users who tends to pop in from time to time when Cox changes his IP. -- Creol(talk) 12:11, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ah, this was the IP that had major issues with my user page. I wondered where they'd end up... - tholly --Turnip-- 17:34, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

PGA

Hello Razor,

I was wondering if I could ask you to vote (or comment) on the SPL article in WP:PGA? Its been proposed as a GA, so as many people voting would be great :) Thanks, Grant ← κεηηε∂γ (talk) (wikiproject collaboration) 10:57, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'll take a look at it as soon as I am done with the tributaries for the current river that I am on. Cheers, Razorflame 10:58, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

Thank you for your compliment. I am this guy, and i like it here because it gives me a little more article writing experience.
BTW, could you help me expand Scranton?
Once again, thanks. Sebb Talk 12:47, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Scranton, Pennsylvania? Yep, I can help you expand that a bit. And not a problem for giving you the compliment. Sorry, but I have never heard of that other username before, because I don't edit the English Wikipedia much anymore. Cheers, Razorflame 13:25, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lol

I will if you join ##SB39 stat. Also, ping me. SwirlBoy39 21:48, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
