RfD nomination of England–Wales–Scotland–Northern Ireland-Republic of Ireland 2030 FIFA World Cup proposed bid change

An editor has requested deletion of England–Wales–Scotland–Northern Ireland-Republic of Ireland 2030 FIFA World Cup proposed bid, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2021/England–Wales–Scotland–Northern Ireland-Republic of Ireland 2030 FIFA World Cup proposed bid and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Fixing26 (talkcontribs) 14:35, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Quick deletion of Al Bayt Stadium change

July 2021 change

We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but an article you created was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex. They need to be simplified before or immediately after being added to the Simple English Wikipedia. In addition, be sure to include attribution on the article's talk page. Thank you. Morneo06 (talk) 16:07, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Rollback requests change

Nominating for adminship change

I don't know if you meant this page to be a real nomination or a test. If the first one, the be sure to check with the person you're nominating before making the nomination, and complete the nomination setup so that people will see it in the correct. If you meant it to be a test, then please don't do this kind of test that looks like part of an actual process. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:26, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

It wasn’t a test I will ask in future. What did I do wrong technically? Thegameshowlad (talk) 09:02, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
You can setup an RfA by following the steps at WP:RFA. Nominate there and follow the steps there. But please, don't get too distracted with Rfas and things like that. You are still quite new here and WP:ONESTRIKE applies to your situation. If you continue issues that you had on enwiki here, you can be blocked indefinitely with little warning, so try focusing on articles instead of jumping into rfas basically as soon as you arrive. If you need any help, please let me know and I'll try to respond as quickly as possible. Best, --Ferien2 (talk) 11:23, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I’m not doing anything stupid like I did on en.wiki. I’m editing here to prove to the en admins that I am capable of being constructive. Thegameshowlad (talk) 11:44, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
What you did wrong technically was miss one or more of the steps needed to properly set up a new RFA. Following the procedure described by Ferien2 is the best way to make sure you don't miss anything.
Be aware that many things are different here from the way they are on enwiki. Take some time to learn how things work here. You can also look at this list I have of some of the differences. The list itself is neither policy nor guideline, but it links to some relevant policies and procedures. If you have any questions about anything on it, feel free to ask. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:23, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please remember to sign when you leave messages change

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Just in case you didn't know, when you post messages on talkpages and Wikipedia pages, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ("~~~~") at the end of your message. You can also click on the signature button (  or  ), located in the edit toolbar, which is above the change window. This will put a signature containing your user name or IP address and the time you posted the message. This information is useful because other users will be able to tell who said what, and when. Pages that may require a signature, such as Talk:2030 FIFA World Cup, Talk:Visitor Johansson, User talk:Fixing26. Thank you for your participation. --Cewbot (talk) 13:26, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Rationale for RfD change

Hi there, I believe you forgot to add your rationale for opening this RfD. Fixing26 (talk) 18:40, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

It looked poor article. Thegameshowlad (talk) 19:01, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
In future, please read WP:BEFORE the next time you want an article to be nominated. You thinking an article is poor is not a valid delete reason. --IWI (talk) 22:45, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, TGSL. Just to give you some more info, populated places like Mustang Ridge are automatically considered notable just because they exist. We have a lot of minimal stub articles like this. It would be nice if they had more information, but they do have enough to show notability and there is no minimum length requirement. This Wikipedia is small and we have fewer editors, so many of our articles are like this. Feel free to improve these articles if you want to -- that would be very much appreciated! --Auntof6 (talk) 01:55, 30 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

"No issues" at RfDs change

I see you are frequently using this type of word in current RfDs (such as Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2021/OnePath FM, Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2021/National dress). If you believe the article has no issues, you have to explain why. There is no smoke without fire, and there are almost no RfDs without article issues. If you cannot clearly explain the reason why you voted, you have to reconsider your future participance to RfD discussions. MathXplore (talk) 05:27, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I will be more thorough in future! Thegameshowlad (talk) 17:31, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Warning users change

Hello, Thegameshowlad. When you revert a user's changes, like you did earlier, don't forget to leave the user a message on their talk page, especially when reverting vandalism or a test edit. You may find Template:User talk page warnings/table useful when doing this, to let them know that the change was considered inappropriate, and to direct them to the sandbox. Thank you. Please use User warn templates instead of adding {{warning}}s. Also remember to sign them. Thank you --Ferien2 (talk) 20:53, 31 July 2021 (UTC) I have been doing that! see my recent edits! Thegameshowlad (talk) 20:55, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for now using those templates. Please remember to sign those warnings like you would with any other message. Thanks, --Ferien2 (talk) 21:11, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Observations change

Hi @Thegameshowlad - It appears you have only been here a couple of days and you have gotten into a lot in a very short amount of time. As it has been stated, there are a lot of people on here that come from EN, and usually because of being blocked or banned. With that being said, behavior and edits are closely watched on here. I have seen a lot of corrections being given to you, of which you should already know. The reason I say that is because on EN you got blocked numerous times and a lot of sock puppets you created. A lot is behaviour based based on all of the items I have read. I have looked at your contributions and you are going down that exact same path to cause a lot of disruption to the project. My advice to you is to help fix articles and expand them. I am recommending you do not create or edit soccer/football articles as they seem to be the ones that got you blocked for putting in the wrong information and alot of your articles (even on here already) are getting quick deleted or nominated for deletion. You stated you wanted to prove to EN admins you can be a good editor, but to do that, you have to be one. Please make sure you take time and read all of our rules on here and if you have questions please feel free to ask an admin, ask on WP:Simple Talk or ask a fellow experienced editor. I also recommend taking the comments people make to you very seriously. We try to help make the editor successful, but that is ultimately up to the editor on whether they listen or not.

I am also going to provide you advice on posting on others peoples pages like you did to mine and like you did to this.

My feeling, based on what you have done so far, is getting really close to getting yourself blocked here. For now, I would avoid fighting vandalism, posting on peoples talk pages about their blocks/bans, changing other users pages (especially putting block/banned templates on them), not participating in RfDs, etc., until you fully understand what this wiki is about. As I said above, I recommend going through articles and helping fix them first to get a hang of things for a while before you start going into other areas. Me personally, I do more backend work to fix articles (like fix errors on templates in articles, spelling, formatting, etc.)

With everything you have done in a few days, I can tell you I am sure you are on the admins radar especially when you are nominating someone to be an admin after you have been here a day or two, and doing things wrong. So take your time, adhere to what people are telling you, and always ask for advice if you cannot find an answer somewhere. I personally like to see people succeed. I started on here not long after Ferien and he is now an admin. So there are possibilities to grow after proving a lot of things over time. So be cautious and heed warnings so you do not suddenly get blocked. Feel free to hit me up. I work odd hours, so you may not get a reply immediately but I have a lot of stalkers that will answer you. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 04:21, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your advice and I will be careful on what I’m doing. Admins are fine with me rvv and stuff. I know what this wiki is about. Thegameshowlad (talk)
"I know what this wiki is about." I disagree to this statement. You have to know that you are receiving many messages due to the concerns of your understanding. Please remind that pretending to know everything will never do any good, and we also have WP:1STRIKE. MathXplore (talk) 11:12, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Thegameshowlad@MathXplore TGSL I have to agree with Math on this and a few other things you said and now I see below you are about to cross the line so I highly recommend taking time out and getting to know our rules and processes as you are still receiving warnings about it. Also, and this isn’t the first time I’ve seen you ask about admin tools and wanting to be an admin like you said here. So far very discouraging and if you keep going in the direction you are going I give it two days max before one strike is invoked. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? Your request change

Please explain a few of your edits change

Please explain the reason for the following reverts that you did:

These seem disruptive to me, but I want to give you a chance to explain them. I think there are a couple of others I'm not sure about, but these will do for now. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 10:45, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hope that makes sense! Thegameshowlad (talk) 12:07, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. Comments:
  • Shambali: According to the reference in the enwiki article, it is from Izmir, which is in Turkey. It may be eaten in other places, but it appears to have originated in Turkey. If you think otherwise, feel free to add a supporting reference to the article.
  • Primer (movie): The user removed Category:2004 movies. That category was not needed because the article was already in Category:2004 science fiction movies, a child category of the one removed.
  • Denmark: adding the authority control template is not vandalism. Even if there is a vandalism-only user, you do not need to revert all of their edits. The user has never been blocked, and the only warnings they've received were from you (and, by the way, please use the standard talk headings when leaving warnings). Not only that, but none of your warnings included the name of an article so that the user or anyone else could look at what they had done; please include article names when leaving warning messages.
  • Urdu: The user didn't change any words. They put some words in lower case where they needed to be, and they added some links.
Your replies, in addition to your actions, are not encouraging. I think some of the admins will be thinking about whether it's time to invoke our one-strike process. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:22, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Can you figure out how to request WP:Quick deletion for this page, for practice? change

Also this one: Burbot 74.195.61.89 (talk) 14:55, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes. { {delete|quick} } (but without the gaps). Thegameshowlad (talk) 15:02, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Instead of "quick", you should write the reason for quick deleting, like { {delete|copyvio} } if it is copied from another website, or { {delete|vandalism} } if it is vandalism. You can also write a code, like { {delete|a1} } if it has little or no meaning. This list of codes is here: WP:Quick deletion. 74.195.61.89 (talk) 15:07, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Closing/Moving RfDs change

Hi - Please do not move or close RfDs. This example is not even scheduled to be closed yet as it is only the 2nd of August, not the 9th of August. This is a task admins do as there are other steps involved that you do not have access to. I will revert your changes. This notice will serve as a 1st level warning, so do not take it lightly. I say this because you have gotten a lot of warnings in the past couple of days. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 16:38, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

But that page had been deleted! I will avoid RFDs from now onwards. Thegameshowlad (talk) 17:58, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Then when that happens, it has to be closed properly, including with the notation as to who and why it was closed and it has to be put in the archive, none of which you did. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 18:00, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
How do I do that? Thegameshowlad (talk) 18:01, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) Please don't do it. Just leave it to the admins to take care of. --Auntof6 (talk) 20:42, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming IPs change

We do not typically issue a welcome template to IP addresses. 9 times out of 10, they are vandals or people avoiding their block. If an account gets created and they make some good changes and such as Auntof6 stated above, then you can welcome them. Otherwise, please do not welcome IPs. Thanks! PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 16:42, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

When I see an IP with a few Good Faith edits can I welcome them? Thegameshowlad (talk) 17:59, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I typically wait a couple of days and see if they keep on editing and if they are getting reverted or any warnings. A lot of times, they only pop on for a day or two to edit one particular article and then disappear. We have very few IP editors that stay here without making an account. August 2021 change

About this edit you made to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard: I don't care how frustrated you get, you need to be civil even in your edit summaries. Consider this a warning not to be rude to other editors. --Auntof6 (talk) 09:59, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I’m sorry for being rude but TBF they are being ruder and they are frustrating. Can you please block the users?. I will comply with WP:Civil in future, I’m really sorry for being rude and I withdraw my remark but what they are doing is not on. Thegameshowlad (talk) 10:13, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't matter how rude the other user is being. You need to keep a level head and not let it get to you. Just be glad you aren't having to deal with all the abuse the admins are getting right now (a lot of it off-wiki). If you want a user blocked, make sure they have received appropriate warnings and then report them at WP:VIP. --Auntof6 (talk) 10:19, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) Regardless of how rude they are or the comments they post, does not deserve to be rude back. That is against the rules and once it’s published, it’s out there for all to see. By saying you take it back is moot because it is there for the world to see now. As for blocking, this person is an LTA and we deal with him at the end of every month. When doing reverts it’s best to not comment in the summary (and more so in all caps as it means you are yelling). PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 10:20, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
What abuse are you getting? I am getting really stressed out with the vandals, hence my request for rollback. Why do they keep doing it? Thegameshowlad (talk) 10:23, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm not going to go into it because I don't want to repeat it here. If you're getting stressed out, consider taking a break. It doesn't have to be a long break, just an hour, a few hours, or a day or two could be helpful. The wiki will still be here. --Auntof6 (talk) 10:25, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Not a can of worms on top of a Pandora’s box to be on-wiki or really related to regular users! I recommend (like I did on your topic on my page) is for now just stick to improving articles and let things take their course. Eventually you’ll learn about the regular LTAs we get and when they show up. This way you are not getting warned or even blocked or banned. Try to be productive and work on getting off the admins radar before you ask for permissions to be added. Give yourself a month or two before asking for roll back rights so slowly work into fighting vandalism to learn the ropes. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done?
