Headers
changeFirst, thank you for adding information to new pages. It makes checking the pages easier. I only noticed one header that you added so far, but wanted to let you know we label some differently. We use Other pages instead of See also. And we use Other websites instead of External links. I hope to see you keep making helpful changes here! Thanks! --Tbennert (talk) 03:58, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Standard headings on Simple English Wikipedia
changeHello, Gay Yong Hernandez. Thank you for your changes here. I noticed this change, where you changed the heading "See also" to "Other pages". The heading used here for that is actually "Related pages"; we don't use "Other pages" for anything. If you have made the same change elsewhere, please change those to use our standard heading. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 19:33, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Auntof6: I have also inserted the header Other pages, because I vaguely remembered the topic mentioned by User:Tbennert. Is there a page on Simple that defines standard headings? Thank in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 20:09, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Ottawahitech: The two specific ones that are different here are documented in the manual of style, at Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Related pages (Related pages) and Wikipedia:Manual of Style#List of links at the end of an article (Other websites). --Auntof6 (talk) 21:32, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey
changeHello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.
You can find more information about this survey on the project page and see how your feedback helps the Wikimedia Foundation support editors like you. This survey is hosted by a third-party service and governed by this privacy statement (in English). Please visit our frequently asked questions page to find more information about this survey. Words in the Basic English vocabulary
changeNote that words such as 'blue' are in the Basic English wordlists, and so do not need linking. We assume, as a matter of policy, that our readers are familiar with those words. The wiki has several wordlists: the word 'blue' is in the most basic list of all: the original 850 words: Wikipedia:Basic English alphabetical wordlist. There is a combined Simple English wordlist which is perhaps better for science. Macdonald-ross (talk) 20:33, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
Reminder: Share your feedback in this Wikimedia survey
changeEvery response for this survey can help the Wikimedia Foundation improve your experience on the Wikimedia projects. So far, we have heard from just 29% of Wikimedia contributors. The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes to be completed. Take the survey now.
If you have already taken the survey, we are sorry you've received this reminder. We have design the survey to make it impossible to identify which users have taken the survey, so we have to send reminders to everyone. changeHello! Thank you for creating Category:2004 disestablishments in Switzerland. However, we normally need at least three pages in a category before it is created. Because categories are a way to group together similar articles, there is no need to create a new category for just one or two articles. If you think there might be more pages to add to the new category, please add them now. Thank you. Auntof6 (talk) 02:15, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
Creating stubs from ip?
changeHi, Someone pointed out elsewhere (sorry I can't remember where) that maybe you were creating lots of places from an ip like this. Is that you? If it isn't, I am very sorry for bothering you.
If it is you, can I ask you a couple of favors? Villages, towns, cities, municipalities, communes etc. are all "in" places. That is simpler than "of" and used more commonly in English. It would really help to use the word "in".
Also, in English word order "district" comes after the name:
- "Nyon district" not "district Nyon"
- "the district of Nyon" is also OK, but less simple
And, again, if that is not you, I am very sorry! --Gotanda (talk) 03:59, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
- Just checking back, if this [1] is you making Swiss muni stubs and Oklahoma town stubs, please have a look. Cities, towns, municipalities are all in places. Many of these stubs use of repeatedly to mean serve two or more functions in the same sentence. Using in is simplper and often the "of" is not needed. Thanks, --Gotanda (talk) 23:55, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, this one is not from ip, it is clearly from you. [2]. Can you tell me why you continue to to use "of" and not "in" for these articles? In is more specific. It is direct and simple. "Of" can mean many things. In some of these stubs you are creating t serves more than one function. If there is a clear reason, please let me know. Once in a while it seems like you do use "in," so I'd like to ask you to be more consistent about this. See also the towns in Oklahoma etc. Looking forward to your thoughts. --Gotanda (talk) 02:53, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
Patrolling categories
changeI noticed that you patrolled Category:Non-vascular plants. That category doesn't meet our requirements, because it has only two entries in it. If you are going to patrol such categories, you need to tag them with {{popcat}} and leave a notice on the creator's talk page letting them know that we require at least three entries. If you have any questions about this, feel free to let me know. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 10:09, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
Editing from IP 2A02:21B0:644C:609A:5D44:995A:3D4B:7FFB ??
changeHello Gay Yong Hernandez, I understand that you sometimes use IP to create the large number of new place stubs. If this is you, please change the language a bit to make it simpler. If it is not you, I apologize for taking up your time.
Please use "in" for cities, towns, and villages not "of" when creating stubs You are making a lot of place stubs. Please make them a bit better. Suggestion:
- This: El Dara is a village in Illinois in the United States. (This is simpler because in describes the relationship clearly with no other possible relationship.)
- Not this: El Dara is a village of Illinois in the United States. (This is not common usage. It is also less simple and less clear because "of" can describe many relationship between people and places.)
You use "in" sometimes so I know that you are aware of this usage. Thank you, --Gotanda (talk) 23:13, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

Categorizing
changeThanks for your recent work on categorizing -- it's much appreciated.
I added a couple of categories to Liberal Party of Israel, which you categorized. The most important thing about that article is that it's a political party in Israel, but you added only categories related to the years of establishment and disestablishment. It's good to add those -- we could probably use that on many other articles -- but it's important to recognize what an article is actually about. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. --Auntof6 (talk) 17:57, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Patrolling article Asian Handball Federation
changeI was looking at this article and saw that it had several categories specified that we don't have here. I found that you patrolled it on 4 September 2020 at 15:40. It should not have been patrolled without either fixing the categories or tagging the article as needing attention on the categories. Patrolling articles doesn't mean just clicking on the link to mark them as patrolled. It means looking at the page to make sure it's in good shape, and either fixing things that need fixing or at least tagging the page as needing attention. Please be sure to do that when you patrol.
I have fixed the categories, but you can look in the history to see what was there. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 08:47, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

- Summary for the non-German speakers: I told the editor that some IP edits are likely automated, that automated edits ("bots") need to be approved; that there is a discussion on Simple Talk which could result in a block. To avoid that the bot can be discussed and approved at the appropriate page. --Eptalon (talk) 09:10, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

Editing from ip 2A02:21B0:644F:F9F2:BDBA:89E1:DE9B:99F8 ?
changeApologies if this is incorrect, but we are again getting many, many bulk created commune and place stubs from ip. Then, you are editing some from your named account. This looks very similar from what was discussed before. The bulk created pages have small problems, but because there are so many, it takes a lot of effort to fix that would not be needed if they were correct in the first place. --Gotanda (talk) 00:24, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

If you are going to keep doing bulk creation of stubs, please at least make them as simple as possible. Trying to clean up afterwards is much more work. Not "It can be found in the southwestern part of France." but "It is in southwestern France." Very simple. (Again, if this is not you, it would be good to say so. --Gotanda (talk) 02:44, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Patrolling
changeI noticed that you marked The Chosen (1981 movie) and National Lampoon's Class Reunion as patrolled. (I didn't check any others.) I don't think those articles claim notability, and the things listed under "Other websites" are not reliable sources. Is there a reason that you neither tagged these nor requested QD? --Auntof6 (talk) 19:33, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
- While there are generally a lot of issues with Gay Yong Hernandez's edits, these are not as they are perfectly fine stubs. The claim in this page is that they are distributed by 20th Century Fox as that is a major movie studio. Remember not claiming notability is something that should be used sparingly and would be for something that only says something like "The Choosen is a movie." If there is anything in the article that remotely could lead someone to think it was notable then it does not meet the criteria for not claiming notability. Lack of sources also isn't a QD reason. -Djsasso (talk) 12:36, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

changeYou are clearly still using scripts which you were warned not to do. I have blocked you for 31 hours this time. The next time it will likely be and indefinite block. Take this block to reflect on what you have been doing. -Djsasso (talk) 15:26, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hello. As you have continued to use unauthorised scripts despite numerous warnings and a block, I have blocked your account. Since you have not shown that you understand that this is not allowed, nor shown any signs of stopping, I have not put an expiry on this block. You will have to convince an administrator that this automated editing will stop by using the {{unblock}} template if you wish to continue editing here. Best, --IWI (talk) 00:42, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hallo Gay Yong Hernandez; als Alternative kannst du mir auch eine Mail schicken, auch auf Deutsch oder Französisch, und ich werde dein Anliegen bearbeiten; schöne Grüsse - Eptalon (Non-German speakers: GYH can also send me a mail, with likely the same result). --Eptalon (talk) 08:10, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
