CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IPs). Some administrators are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy.

On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.

Use of the tool

This tool is to be used to fight vandalism, to check for sockpuppet abuse, and to limit disruption of the project. It must be used only to prevent damage to the project.

The tool should not be used for political control; to apply pressure on editors; or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to check a user. Note that alternative accounts are not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of the policies (for example, to vote more than once or to make it look like more people support an idea). Checkusers will refuse a request, if the reason for checking is not good enough to warrant the use of the tool.

Hello, I ran a checkuser, here are my findings: Both users are from the same country, and use the same ISP, which has a pool of dynamic IP adresses. I recently placed an A4 Quick Deletion (QD) tag on the article Cyber Crime Break because the page lacked clear indications of notability. However, shortly after, a user named User:Baalveeer removed the QD tag without providing any explanation. I reverted this removal, but then another user, User:Wikimooddose, also removed the QD tag.

Notably, a total of three accounts have edited this page, all contributing in ways that attempt to prevent its deletion. This behavior suggests that these accounts might be sockpuppets, potentially created to keep the article from being flagged for deletion. @Fr33kman: I thought my initial statement is the answer to this question. However I have updates about this case. I recentlly reviewed the global edits of the 3rd user, and I noticed that their kowiki and Wikidata edits are related to Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Ryohei_Mori_accounts. Based on this behavior evidence I have requested a global lock for the 3rd user and has been accepted, so the other users are also requested for locks due to the activity overlaps seen here. Currently all involved accounts are locked and the page is deleted by QD G5. I should have carefully checked the global edits before this request. I request CU-comparison between category/template creators around Arabic/LGBT/Pakistani topics. The 1st user is already blocked. The 2nd user is CU-blocked by user:Fr33kman (Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#BottleOfSoup), the 3rd user is blocked per enwiki SPI results (w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Irtapil/Archive#23_June_2024). I will list up the similarities and overlaps that I noticed.

The 2nd user (BottleOfSoup, BoS) previously made Category:Gaza Strip templates (special:redirect/logid/2693442). When I see the categorized templates, Template:Gaza blockade, Template:Gaza Strip navbox, and Template:Gaza Strip map is made by the 4th user (LagoonGoose, LG). This suggests that the 4th user is continuing the works of the previous users.

(Usage of userspace) Also, as PDL pointed out in the previous CU request, the 1st and 2nd user prefers to work in the userspace. This trend is also seen in the 4th user (LagoonGoose, LG, userspace edits) since their return in August after a 3-month Wikibreak. Please note that the user was already familiar to use their userspace and content translation tools since their registration and return.

(Categorization involvements) The 1st user was originally blocked per categorizations issues (deleted categories), and then the block was extended per previous CU results.

• The 4th user started categorization works soon after their return in August (edits in category space), and now they have entered in a similar situation as well as the 1st user (Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2024/Category:LGBTIQ).
• (Preferences) Please note that the 1st user made Category:Global South (special:redirect/logid/2637652), and the 4th user has made Category:Global North and their subcategories. This suggests similar preferences in category creations. In other words, issues in User_talk:Irtapil/Archive#Please_stop_category_work also apply to the 4th user, I remember tagging {{popcat}} to categories made by the 4th user.
• (Category translation) The 1st user has explained their involvement in this area in User_talk:Irtapil/Archive#category_translation. Special:Diff/9769451 from the 4th user suggests that category translation work is continued with same language pair (EN/AR).

(Language preferences and related interests) As seen in the creation of w:Template:User en-gb-n, w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Irtapil/Archive#23_June_2024, and the previous edits, the 1st user's langauge preferences and related interests include en-GB, Arabic, and Australia. When I see the 4th user, they made translations of Arabic content (including User:LagoonGoose/Australian Representative Office in Ramallah), also made page moves to change titles in British English (for example, see special:redirect/logid/2816294, organization -> organisation, also see move log). The usage of "organisation" can also be seen in w:User_talk:Irtapil/Archive_1#article_translation_request_ru:_Альянс_врачей.

(Topic overlaps) Both the 1st and 4th user are the most prolific editors in the area of the Middle East (especially Israel and Palestine) in this project. Other topic overlaps are listed as below:

• The 1st user made w:User:Irtapil/Urdu Notes and w:User:Irtapil/Urdu alphabet 1. Please note that Urdu is a language in Pakistan. The 4th user has joined Wikiproject Pakistan (special:diff/9751538)
• The 1st user is also interested in LGBT rights in the Middle East (special:permalink/9458437, User talk:Irtapil/Rainbow Hasbara, special:diff/9345804). The 4th user is involved in Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2024/Category:LGBTIQ and also made special:diff/9766306.

After the previous CU request (Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Dhadhor_accounts) and content dispute, another account (2nd user) has joined the conflict.

The 3rd-5th users are already blocked in the previous request (by user:Bsadowski1) and w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rao Devilal Pratap.

The previous conflict was between the 1st and 3rd-5th users versus an IP range where the involvement of the 6th user is estimated. Please see the block log and related records of the 6th user (special:redirect/logid/2765016, w:special:redirect/logid/163138137, w:special:permalink/1234083914#Question_about_special:redirect/logid/163138137) and here/

The relation between the 6th and 7th user is explained in w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/R2dra.

Please note that the 2nd user aimed to restore previously removed statements in the intro (Dhadhor is ... Ahir or Yadav), please compare special:diff/9758784, special:diff/9585825, and special:diff/9575519 for example.

The 1st and 3rd-5th users are working to do the opposite of the above actions (removing the statement: "Dhadhor is ... Ahir or Yadav" and relevant references, see special:diff/9765543 and special:diff/9580657). Also, I have previously pointed out that the 3rd-5th users are using similar edit summaries as one of our former admins in Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Dhadhor_accounts. I would like to note that several users are moving non-userpages to userspace with similar tone (complicated language that may not make sense) and vice versa. The 2nd user has WP:ONESTRIKE for this reason. In w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Krishan avatar, an editor pointed out similarities between the 1st and 3rd user (who is equal to the 4th-11th user, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Behgal_Jats_accounts, Special:Diff/9737930, w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Truthfindervert, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Truthfindervert/Khalsajudicary). Both the 1st and 3rd user has interests in similar South Asian history topics, and have a history of problematic page moves (examples are explained in Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archive22#Behgal_Jats_accounts and Special:Diff/9737930). I've looked on the Facebook page of The Daily Target, found on their website of the article, and in the Facebook page I saw two user with the name Md Sunnat Ali Mollik (another one is also Md Sunnat Ali Mollik, but in Bengali letter), it proves that The Daily Target is related with the long term abuser. Also look on user:Mohona Maiti, blocked for the same reason. Now if I talk about the Leo Alfie account, this account is continuously defending of the articles Deletion request (see the first and second nomination page here). Also on dewiki.   I am not a sockpuppet. I used to edit without an account (I am the IP user who created the Rashrakuta Empire Page), I made an account specifically so I could talk to @Based Kashmiri about the Pala Empire map and then from then on started editing using this account (there is a glitch that sometimes logs me out while I am in the middle of editing, I mentioned this in my user page).

  I tried to remove that damned map because it was inaccurate, if you added it to the Regular Wikipedia page, it would be removed instantly and for good reason. I just want to preserve the integrity of this site.

While I am not fully familiar with the entire situation, I did see that there are four other users listed below me, who I assume may have engaged in sockpuppetry and personally disliked this user. I would like to clarify that I am not associated with any of them. I have no personal animosity toward @Based Kashmiri; I simply have disagreements with them on the map that's all. • I have already created an SPI on them on English Wikipedia and got many of their socks blocked from which they were continuously disruptiving wikipedia 1

• I have also received multiple personal attacks from them on English Wikipedia 2, 3, 4, 5 and now they also started personal attacking me on Simple English Wikipedia 6

• Now they have suddenly joined simple wiki to do disruptive edits on my articles and constructions I've made on simple wiki. 7, 8, 9

I strongly suspect that these two accounts are connected. The first account, Kinderlt, was created four days ago and features a user page stating "Kinderlt from Lahore." The second account, Kindlt, was created just one day ago with a very similar user page stating "Bhat from Lahore." This similarity in usernames, the near-identical user pages, and their apparent origin strongly suggest that these accounts are either operated by the same person or are closely coordinated. Additionally, their behavior appears to involve harassment and actions that disrupt Wikipedia’s policies, which may include vandalism. I recommend a thorough investigation via CheckUser to confirm this connection and take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of Wikipedia.
