Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser

CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IP addresses). Some administrators are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy.

On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.

Use of the tool

This tool is to be used to fight vandalism, to check for sockpuppet abuse, and to limit disruption of the project. It must be used only to prevent damage to the project.

The tool should not be used for political control; to apply pressure on editors; or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to check a user. Note that alternative accounts are not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of the policies (for example, to vote more than once or to make it look like more people support an idea). Checkusers will refuse a request, if the reason for checking is not good enough to warrant the use of the tool.

Please see the CheckUser policy for all the rules related to CheckUser.

The list of users with CheckUser access can be seen at: Special:ListUsers/checkuser.

Possible WP:EVASION. The 1st user has made many edits to Dhadhor including their previous accounts (Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archives/2024-09#Dhadhor_accounts_again, Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Archives/2024-06#Dhadhor_accounts). Soon after the block of the 1st user, the 2nd user has appeared on the same page (special:diff/10021180, special:diff/10021184). Please also compare Special:Diff/10021186, special:diff/10021184 (by the 2nd user) and special:diff/10020955, from the 1st user. MathXplore (talk) 12:58, 18 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Both are locked for long-term abuse so closing this one.-- BRP ever 11:16, 21 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

User:KENNY BzY and User:Finnex de star

change

The 1st user has made a biography of the 2nd user in their own userpage, and the context of the 1st user's user page ([1]) suggests that these users are related to each other in real world. Please also see the following abuse filter logs:

These logs show that the 1st user tried to edit the userpage of the 2nd user. MathXplore (talk) 23:28, 18 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

(Non-administrator observation) It seems like that Finnex de Star is the sock of user KENNY BzY, or I may be wrong here, because sometimes I don't know as much. But the Abuse log shows that they definitely tried to edit another user's page. I don't really know if it counts as sockpuppetry or not. 𝓐𝓭𝓮𝓵𝓪𝓲𝓭𝓮 (𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓫𝓼) 23:32, 18 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
I ran a check, and I have to say that with the infos I have, I cannot prove they are ther same user. They are from the same country, but they use different ISPs, so their IP addresses are different. Their bowsers are, too. So, from a CU point of view: no match, sorry Eptalon (talk) 15:58, 19 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Eptalon: I have found more users related to these QD G11 and w:WP:NOTWEBHOST cases.
This user also caused a QD G11 case in their userpage and the 1st user also edited here. Please see the deleted revisions of user:Favy rexha.
This user tried to edit the userpage of the 1st user. Please see Special:AbuseLog/563380 and Special:AbuseLog/563381. MathXplore (talk) 02:27, 20 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
i actually gave him the access to my Wikipedia account so let him login Finnex de star (talk) 20:49, 19 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Finnex de star, Please read en:WP:ROLE - Accounts must be used by one person and one person only, Sharing accounts will get you banned, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 20:57, 19 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Administrator note: 1st user is blocked due to repeated QD G11 cases. MathXplore (talk) 02:21, 20 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Administrator note: Deleted content of User:Bhadboi jozzylee suggests that this user is related to the 1st and 2nd user. MathXplore (talk) 08:47, 20 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

account starts with 'Suhaib-Mahdi'

change

Similar username, possible sockpuppet, all vandalism only and clearly not here to build an encyclopedia, might be a type of (new?) LTA, also would be good if we can find some sleepers. cc@MathXplore: --Aqurs1 (talk) 10:20, 20 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Suhaib-Mahdi16 and Suhaib-Mahdi15 are   Confirmed. Suhaib-Mahdi 19, Suhaib-Mahdi 18, and Suhaib-Mahdi17 are confirmed. Both groups and Suhaib-Mahdi 20 are likely related to one another. Other accounts aren't registered on simplewiki for check. BRP ever 12:59, 20 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

User:Ayngelato and Ayngelato

change

I'm listing up the users around this subject. The 1st user made an autobiographic user page in their userspace and it was deleted due to QD G11 by Fr33kman. The 2nd user made the same subject in the main space and this was also deleted (Ayngelato). MathXplore (talk) 23:44, 22 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Similar convo, similar format. Here i go with Checkuser request [Benefit of the Doubt]. Qylt (talk) 00:04, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

There's only one person that needs to be CU'd here and it's not Pots, Ade or BZPN. –Davey2010Talk 00:06, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
You're free to do it but my CU request still matters Davey and remeber and remember that you're not a CU clerk nor do you have the right to checkusers. Stop commenting here. Qylt (talk) 00:11, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Decline, zero need fr33kman 00:36, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Why zero need ? did you checked it? Qylt (talk) 00:50, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
@BRPever could you double-check it? It is unclear why it was declined and what "zero needs" means. Qylt (talk) 00:56, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
I declined because a) it's a fishing trip and they are not allowed, and b) I have known each of the users for ages and have no reason to suspect them of being a single person. You, however, are totally new to me and I disagree with your supposition that any sock puppetry is going on here. So, no, I will not check them. fr33kman 03:51, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Come on now, this check is unnecessary. You give zero good reason to perform a check. Fr33kman is 100% correct here.--BRP ever 04:44, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
