Userspace protection request
Can an admin please fully protect this page in my userspace? I don't want anyone to edit it and I have no reason to edit it again, thanks. --IWI (talk) 11:34, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

The article Nicholas Alahverdian should be protected in order to prevent ongoing cross-wiki disruption which is spilling over from enwiki. See User:Pmelo1 (blocked on enwiki, lock pending), User:94.46.167.5 (a proxy/VPN service), and User:Demzelq (a single-purpose account, almost certainly also a sockpuppet). ST47 (talk) 06:31, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- you are adding material about a dead man’s wife and kids and where the live, that is wp:undue. How is that relevant to the article. This is a BLP1E anyway, of a previously deleted article, and should be deleted.Demzelq (talk) 06:36, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

Would an administrator please review the repeated vandalism on this article by an LTA, and consider protecting the article. User:DoSazunielle
- DoSazunielle (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)
Hello. I have some concerns about this user's edits. Despite repeated warnings about adding undue material to articles, including BLPs; as well as edit warring, the user has continued this behaviour in what appears to be a clear attempt to push their POV on our wiki.
- Examples of POV pushing in an undue fashion: here and here they made half of the article talk about the company's ties to racism; here they add a significant amount of text about how his ancestors were slave owners, even though that doesn't seem particularly relevant to the article. They did a similar thing here and also here, where they made the lead paragraph talk about the person's ancestral ties to slave owners. Also, here they make the second paragraph of a country article talk about how cruel the founders of the country was to indigenous people. This was reverted, at which point they engaged in a two-revert edit war (see below).
- Examples of edit warring when reverted: here and here on the same article; and here, where they reverted a revert of their content by an IP editor.
It's also worth noting that the user is blocked for sockpuppetry on the English Wikipedia. Overall, I feel enough warnings have been given to the user and they show no sign of changing their behaviour, and I suggest admin action as a result. I gave them one more warning earlier, but they don't appear to be willing to work towards this wiki's goals within our policy (see here and here). --IWI (talk) 15:37, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
- There hasn't been any comments made or actions taken yet. I fear this may have been missed since I posted this nearly a week ago. --IWI (talk) 10:35, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

- @TTP1233: whilst it is a feature that I would like to use to assist in my anti-vandalism activities, I am in no rush to have it right now. I can build an encyclopedia without it, so I'm focusing on doing that, instead of worrying about the rollback request. --Belwine • 💬 • 📜 15:27, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

Need a bit of help - Edit War
Hello,
Want to let admins know about an escalating situation - user User:Hipal has welcomed me to the article Dan Pena by levying false allegations against me of undisclosed paid advocacy. They've also mass reverted my edits on the article without sufficient justification more than 3 times today (edit warring).
I'd like an admin to have a look at the exchange and resolve the conflict please.

IP User - Consistent Vandalism
This user has a history on commons where they were blocked for vandalism until at least April. Since they have been on here, all of their edits have been either reverted for vandalism and/or the pages they created nominated (and successful) for QD. They have received levels 1-4 and today I just issued a lvl 2 and a project disruption to them. I actually just fixed where they broke another template.
68.47.91.142 (talk · contribs)
I am nominating them for indef block on simple for these behaviors. I am pinging @Belwine and ImprovedWikiImprovment: as they have also issued the warnings. If I need to move this somewhere else, I will. I also want to note, not once has the IP user acknowledged anything on the talk page.
Thanks, PotsdamLamb (talk) 18:56, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- I think they should really be blocked for 31 hours for vandalism first, before we move onto a longer block. —Belwine (talk) 19:52, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- Peterdownunder has blocked the IP for 72 hours. We don't indef IPs because blocks are intended to be against a person, and different people can use an IP. --Auntof6 (talk) 22:54, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

Task for Huggle needed by admins
Admins - Please see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T275231 PotsdamLamb (talk) 18:49, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'd just like to add a little bit of context. Wikipedia:Huggle/Config#Reporting needs to be updated to include a signature (~~~~) at the end of the lines beginning in aiv-ip and aiv-user. This is to resolve the issue of Huggle users reporting vandals to WP:VIP and not signing their posts, which appears to be a standard practice here much like it is on enwiki. I have documented this at phab:T275231, and will be tracking it from there. If any admins need any additional information, I'm more than happy to help, and can be reached on my talk page here, on enwiki, or in irc in #huggle or #wikipedia-en. Thanks! How many transclusions needed for page protection?
So I was editing Template:User page and found out that although it was used on hundreds of userpages, it was not protected at all. This was alarming to me so I checked the transclusion count, which is currently at 579.
Is 500+ a good number of transclusions to justify template protection (semi)? Or is there an existing higher number? dibbydib 04:24, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
- Generally on this wiki we don't protect unless there has been an issue or the template is used a very large amount typically multiple thousands. But if you are concerned with this one I can semi protect it. There is no hard and fast rule, mostly up to discretion of an admin. -Djsasso (talk) 12:46, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
Huggle task for an admin
Hello Admins: Please see below per Phuzion:
ok so when I load huggle, it shows a red mark when saying loading local yaml file. PotsdamLamb: That's because simplewiki doesn't have a yaml config. WARNING: simplewiki - YAML configuration not found, falling back to deprecated config page Ideally, the simplewiki admins should convert the old WP:Huggle/Config page to WP:Huggle/Config.yaml.js like enwiki has.
Can you please ping or re me when done?
Thanks PotsdamLamb (talk) 17:22, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
- Admins, if you would like I can take the current SEWP one and get it up to date keeping the configuration the same. It can also be updated to add some of the new information and the queues to ignore. Please let me know. I have no problem doing it and putting it in my sandbox for review/comments/approval. Hello, since we have only one red in the recent changes bar, I think we can use a new set of pages. Thanks all for contributing to turn those redlinks blue. Thanks. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:05, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
- Just a thought: Can this be downgraded in protection level like the TOTW form so that other regular editors who aren't admins can edit it too? Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 18:59, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
- There is a process to how they are updated and its highly visible which is why its protected. I can update it to get some more red links on it, but generally I give it time to have all the links turn blue and to see if the pages that are on there can get expanded beyond small stubs. But I was actually going to update it yesterday anyway so I will do it now. -Djsasso (talk) 19:06, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

- @つがる: The amount of vandalism doesn't justify semi-protection. We use semi-protection when the amount of vandalism is hard to keep up with. That isn't the case here, but I've added the page to my watchlist.
- By the way, when you start a new section on a talk page, you don't need to indent or use a bullet. Those are for replies, not for the original message. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:19, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Semi-protection on Spotify
Due to vandalism from multiple IPs. There will likely be more vandalism on this page from IPs due to recent events. —Belwine (talk) 22:33, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
- Looking back about 2 weeks there are 2-3 IPs editing, and being reverted. I have semi-protexted the article for a month. Vandalism-level isn't high, and we could also have blocked the 2-3 IPs. Given that some of them arre mobile, I do not know what the policy is on getting the same mobile IP most of the time (probably depends on provider). Anyway: semi-protected for a month. --Eptalon (talk) 23:10, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

- @GPinkerton: yes. Give attribution on the template talk page using {{translated page|en|TEMPLATENAME|version=VERSIONNUMBER}} with TEMPLATENAME being the template you copied off from enwiki and VERSIONNUMBER the version of the template you copied off. —Belwine (talk) 10:31, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Belwine: Thanks. What exactly do I copy? GPinkerton (talk) 10:35, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Just copy all of the source from enwiki, I think it should be fine. That's
<includeonly>{{#invoke:lang|lang_xx_italic - |code=sga
- }}</includeonly><noinclude>
- {{Documentation|Template:Lang-x/doc}}
- </noinclude>
I'm not sure if attribution is needed as there are other templates here that are like taht, but just with a different language code. —Belwine (talk) 10:40, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

User and user talk protection
Could you semi-protect User:Belwine indefinitely and User talk:Belwine temporarily for me please?
Whilst I don't like the idea of semi-protecting my user talk page, I have only got messages that are vandalism from IPs, so I can't see any harm being done by semi-protecting my user talk page for now. —Belwine (talk) 13:48, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Category:Wikipedia pages with incorrect protection templates
There are a lot of pages in this category, mostly templates. Does anyone know why this is? If there is not a reason for the tags, is there a bot that could remove them, or should it be done manually? Naddruf (talk) 06:58, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah and I can fix them up, and its usually because the templates come over with imports and are not noticed. The other way they end up in that category is that templates are put on when they are protected then protection expires. -Djsasso (talk) 12:10, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

Stalin edits

- @Naddruf: What do you mean by "this kind"? What is there about that edit that you're questioning? --Auntof6 (talk) 08:14, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- From what I can tell, that appears to be an edit from a WMF-banned editor. (he edits about Stalin a lot at the moment) Yes, his edits should always be reverted as he cannot edit any Wikimedia project.—Belwine (talk) 08:23, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- Indeed. As a secondary reason, all of that information is false and made up by him. --IWI (talk) 11:47, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- Be cautious though: We don't revert edits because of who made them; if we revert, we do so because of the content of the edit. With this particular edit, I would first add a template like {{fact}}. What is written there might be a "summary in own words" of a legitimate source (eg. a history book, or even a scientific article). If the template stays for longer, we can still remove the info. And no, I don't know whether what's written is what happened, or if it is made up. I am not a historian. --Eptalon (talk) 12:29, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- The WMF global ban policy gives anyone permission to revert his edits; he may not edit any wikimedia project. And anything he writes is usually part of his own version of reality, and is made-up. DENY should be followed. --IWI (talk) 12:38, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

- We are not looking at a legitimate edit... As Mac said, the page is now in good order since the false information was reverted. And you are comparing someone looking for a new life in France to someone who sends me (and many others) death threats on a daily basis, who also happens to be trying to add false information in our wiki. He is banned by the foundation for a very good reason, so please continue to revert and ignore him. I won't be discussing this further per DENY. --IWI (talk) 13:00, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Sasa Milivojev, IP editor keeps reverting my rollbacks--Derpdart56 (talk) 17:31, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator observation) @Derpdart56:: In these cases, its better to just report the editor to WP:VIP and leave it at that. No need to continually battle with the person over the edits. They can be harmlessly reverted once the editor is blocked. My thoughts. You've done a lot of back and forth reverts on this, which I would have recommended you did not do once it is clear the person just puts the edit back. Desertborn (talk) 17:43, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
- I will also note for the admin corps, that the issue in question is the RFD notice. And for Derpdart56, this is a good example of one to let go until admins can handle (after posting in the right spot). Removing the template doesn't get the editor anywhere since the article is already ongoing in a discussion at RFD. Removing the template doesn't stop that process. Would like to discuss User:Yaakov Wa.. This user been banned from the English Wikipedia by the community, and as such is subject to our one strike rule. The user has been here for less than a day and has already engaged in an edit war at Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress/header even after stating they wouldn't revert again. They went so far as to actually create an account to revert for the third time over a rather needless change. This early pattern indicates to me that the user has no interest in being a collaborative member of our team. Their ban at EN is for a very similar behaviour pattern, taking ownership of a subject and reverting changes from others. I believe this is grounds enough for us to block the user on this Wikipedia as well. --Gordonrox24 | Talk 22:59, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

The IP user:170.78.161.22 has received numerous warnings in the past three days (see https://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:170.78.161.22&action=history) where they have deleted all the warnings without fixing the issues and continues to make the same mistakes. Since they have seen the warnings about not adding sources and blanking pages (evident by deleting the warnings), I recommend a one-week ban on the IP. Thanks PotsdamLamb (talk) 15:47, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

I should point out, while we do want sources for information in articles, a source doesn't have to be put into an article for everything added immediately, only for things that are likely to be questioned. -Djsasso (talk) 15:49, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Android 2113853211
This user has been creating a few issues this week - especially in tagging articles for QD without valid reason, and issuing warning notices to the the creators of the articles. I am seeing a pattern of disruptive editing here. Does someone else want to check out Android 2113853211 and see if I am just being cranky - I mean fancy pointing out a typo when I gave them a warning about inappropriate QD notices :) . Peterdownunder (talk) 10:30, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator observation) I found the warning on your talk page very pedantic as soon as I saw it and funnily enough, the warning was also technically wrong as it is referring to articles. I also noticed a bad QD request the other day, and informed them on their talk page, that whilst I was out and about, I saw them tag a page with only one word an attack page. I looked in the history and it was absolutely not an attack page. I think that Android 2113853211 can be a good editor when they put their mind to it but I don't think pointing out editors' typos instead of fixing their own mistakes is the best idea. Regarding the deletion issues, they just need to read the WP:Deletion policy again very carefully. --Ferien (talk) 19:26, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
- Another non-admin observation, but something doesn't sit right with me here. We've got a brand new user account with no edits on any other wikis who within 5 days of showing up is making changes to our pages about checkusers, oversighters and sockpuppetry. Even creating Wikipedia:SOCKING. We then see a pattern of questionable behavior with QD requests, continuing with incorrectly templating the regulars more than once. I don't know what all of this means, but it feels odd.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 00:12, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

This person reverted almost all of my edits: Special:Contributions/2601:1C2:200:B610:B434:9660:B1E0:1BC3.
These are (mostly) my edits: Special:Contributions/2601:640:4000:3170:C457:3823:3D76:644D/64.

- @2601:640:4000:3170:C457:3823:3D76:644D: Some of those edits were changing cat from Beetle to Polyphaga. That user probably made a reasonable revert. Darubrub (Let me know) 15:51, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, the reverts seem to be reasonable, and at least some of your edits seem to be incorrect. --Ferien (talk) 15:53, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Darubrub and Ferien: It needs to be consistent. Polyphaga is a suborder of beetles. Either 1) Delete the category "Polyphaga"; 2) Move all polyphaga beetles out of category "Beetles" into category "Polyphaga" (like I did); or 3) Put all polyphaga beetles into both these categories. By the way, the edits before those, that got reverted, were putting plants in more specific categories. 2601:640:4000:3170:C457:3823:3D76:644D (talk) 15:56, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

- I'll just comment one this: Beetles are the largest group of insects by far. It is wholly appropriate to have subgroups of beetles, the largest of which is the Polyphaga. Obviously the most concise category is the lower one if it is appropriate. Thus Polyphaga should be the category in all cases where the beetle is in the Polyphaga. This also fits with "Follow En wiki" except that they take this process even further in their system of categories. Macdonald-ross (talk) 17:05, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

- The general principle is that all pages go into the most precise categories that we have. Therefore beetles in the Polyphaga go into the Polyphaga unless there is an even more precise category (which there is not on this wiki). We do not take the taxonomic categories so far as do En wiki because we have relatively so few pages. Basically, you can leave the page as it is now so far as categories are concerned. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:14, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Macdonald-ross: The edits were to put beetles in the "Polyphaga" category, but somebody reverted them. For example, I did this edit: [6], and then somebody reverted it. 2601:640:4000:3170:E878:FC13:312:ABD6 (talk) 18:17, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

- Though I do question the usefulness of other users engaging in revert wars over blank edits. --IWI (talk) 21:37, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- I have oversighted some of this revert war, as it sometimes contained what looks like a possibly valid email address; and no, I don't understand edit wars either.--Eptalon (talk) 21:42, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was one of them. Problem being that the user is a serial long-time abuser (LTA) that I don't look at the content of the edits before reverting, because it was so obvious (and also a lot of the LTA's vandalism is non-obvious). Other times the LTA dumps harassing content instead, this was an odd one. Leaderboard (talk) 21:47, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- If it is just in the edit summary then we might as well wait for an admin to come along and remove the harassment. The more we war with him over this, the more will need to be cleaned up. --Ferien (talk) 14:47, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

It seems like there are edit conflicts from multiple IPs. Is that possible for a semi-protection? Darubrub (Let me know) 13:13, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Darubrub: Edit conflicts are not a reason to protect a page. --Auntof6 (talk) 14:38, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Darubrub: You probably mean "edit war". An edit conflict is when two people try to make changes at the same time, and they can't both be processed. Lights and freedom (talk) 21:59, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Semi-protection on User talk:168.10.169.130
Can the semi-protection be taken off this at some point, or reduced to a set time? Indefinite semi-protection on this page makes it impossible for IP users to edit their own talk page. --Ferien (talk) 19:59, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

So for example, to email me, you'd go to https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:EmailUser/Ferien. Then the title is just what you want the email to be sent as (you can just leave that as Simple English Wikipedia e-mail usually). Then write what you want to send in the box below. When you send the email, your email address will be sent to the person who you're sending the email. After that, you can let someone know that they've got mail by adding

- No. They can only see if and when someone sent an email.
- Abuse can be sent via email. If this is the case you can mute that user. And in case of someone who is socking to send you abusive emails, disabling email from brand new users can help.

Hello Haoreima, I have removed the ip address from the page history. Ordinary users, and administrators will no longer be able to see it. It will remain visible to oversighters.--Eptalon (talk) 16:03, 23 May 2021 (UTC)- And yes, checkusers will be able to find it too, that's what the checkuser role was created for. Note however, there is a m:Checkuser policy on Meta, and all checkusers have agreed to it. Among other things, it forbids "fishing expeditions"; there always has to be a reason covered by the policy to perfom a check. Note that checkusers and oversighters have a legal obligation to keep such information private. --Eptalon (talk) 16:12, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Page Protection for Article
I am asking for SP for Kobe Bryant do the amount of vandalism coming from various IPs over the past couple of days. PotsdamLamb (talk) 19:59, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Urgent Block needed on LTA please
I also posted on VIP
- 47.35.63.50 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) vandalism; an ip was just blocked for making the same changes in tagging policies with the notability tag. 1 PotsdamLamb (talk) 22:13, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- To add; it is GRP I think as they edited their talk page to say it is public wifi using the box like he did the other day. Please block and pull TP and email. PotsdamLamb (talk) 22:21, 25 May 2021 (UTC) PotsdamLamb (talk) 22:26, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

- @PotsdamLamb: That's not GRP. GRP shouts and wars on talk pages. This is just a vandal who has been particularly annoying recently, not GRP though. --Ferien (talk) 16:11, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Administrator impersonator towards Operator873
- @Operator873:. User:Operate273 see their talk page User_talk:Operate273 and it directs people to see the discussion on another new users page User:SpongeBoy67238. I think both need to be permanently banned with no TP or email access. PotsdamLamb (talk) 23:38, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- Taking part in this community is something I wanna do. I was only trying to prevent impersonation of User:Operator873. Apologies, I was not sure how to use that template to specify that it was a doppleganger account. SpongeBoy67238 (talk) 23:41, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- I am not buying it and neither will the admins. PotsdamLamb (talk) 23:43, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- I think a soft indef on that account will do just fine unless the user vandalizes on it. Darubrub (Let me know) 00:40, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Not for impersonating an admin :) PotsdamLamb (talk) 00:41, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- The only edits I see are just adding the doppelgänger template, I don’t see stuff like fake block threats, etc. Darubrub (Let me know) 00:43, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- That doesn’t matter much especially when they say it’s authorized and to see the talk of another newly created account around the same time. PotsdamLamb (talk) 00:44, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

- (Non-administrator observation) Both accounts globally locked. Darubrub (Let me know) 14:49, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator observation) If someone was creating a doppelgänger account though, it should be blocked as it should never have to be used. The whole point of doppelgänger accounts is that they never edit, they're just to prevent impersonations on common typos. Operate273 isn't very close to the username Operator873. Also, I think that doppelgänger accounts should be created by the person who would be impersonated. So in this, it'd be Operator873. Anyway, globally locked now as Darubrub says so any more action is pointless... --Ferien (talk) 15:40, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Darubrub: Both accounts are blocked by Bsadowski1 as well. C4Bomb2024 Talk 08:24, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
Semi-Protection - Permanent
Can we SP permanently Names for ordinal numbers as IPs are constantly vandalizing it. Thanks! PotsdamLamb (talk) 15:30, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- I mean... the page has less than 50 edits since 2016. Not exactly out of control there.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 18:53, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Gordonrox24: The problem is they keep linking and changing things around. It has become a nuisance lately. Even just an SP for a week or two is fine with me. PotsdamLamb (talk) 18:59, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
Dashboard
Hi admins,
I wanted to know if you had something similar to Wikipedia Dashboard that puts all of the information in one place for you to access. If not, I can custom create one for simple based on our needs here (i.e. remove things we do not use like ARBCOM, etc.). Please let me know. PotsdamLamb (talk) 18:13, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- We've got Wikipedia:RecentChanges that should be displaying for you on Special:recentchanges, and it has basically every discussion page. We only have 6 to begin with. AN/ST/RfP/RfD/PVA.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 18:53, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Gordonrox24: I am very well aware of recent changes. Thank you for bringing that up. The dashboard is not what you are talking about. If you look at the dashboard link I provided, it lists everything on one page instead of having to go to each and everyone to see what is pending. There are also user permissions, RfAs, etc. Thank you for your comments. PotsdamLamb (talk) 19:02, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- Right.... that's exactly what is on the recent changes page. What discussion or pending task do we have that isn't already posted there? Even the EN dashboard doesn't actually list every discussion, only the most recent. What do you propose to put on our dashboard that isn't already shown at Recent Changes? We simply don't have the same volume of discussions that EN has, creating another page when they are already all posted at one location just doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Like I said, we've probably only got 6 semi-active discussion pages on the entire Wikipedia. As a point of order, as this really isn't something that an admin has to make an action on, WP:ST would have been the more correct location. --Gordonrox24 | Talk 19:08, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

SP for Yo Gabba Gabba!
Can we get SP on this page please? Numerous IP editors keep changing things around to suit their preferences on colors, characters vs. main characters, etc. Thanks! PotsdamLamb (talk) 19:51, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
- Not going into details here. Looking at a diff between ChenzwBot reverting, and the most recent edit (27 edits later), these look generally constructive(here). So where's the problem? -Many small edits, a number of IPv6 editors? - I currently see no reason to protect the page. --Eptalon (talk) 20:26, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
- If you look the two IPs keep changing ==Main Characters == to == Characters == and back again between them. They also keep changing who is friends with who. Granted these are minor edits but when one adds the other subtracts and replaces with their opinion. So you see like +6, -3, 0, etc. PotsdamLamb (talk) 20:39, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
Something funky and it screams Duck, Duck
As everyone knows, we have an RfD due to close soon, however, based on both behavioral evidence and patterns, the article should be deleted for a number of reasons:
A. Article in question: Nima Owji (Developer); RfD at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2021/Nima Owji (Developer)
i. User Namnak [created] this article who, for one, has a COI on the article. a. Namnak is a suspected sock puppet of en:User:Niocs whom clearly states they have a COI on this article on their user page.
ii. Mohadic created an account and has only made one edit right after it was created and that was to the RfD for a keep. They have made no other changes. This is a lock evasion, also of Niocs who used the account name of Rezadelavari see locked log here.
iii. Kasra.9nor same as ii above. Also a lock evasion of Rezadelavari. There is a great explanation on the request at Global “Cross-wiki spammer. This is User:Niocs, who spams autobiographies of himself cross-wiki. He was previously locked as Special:CentralAuth/Rezadelavari and Special:CentralAuth/Mohammadrezaliaghat. See, for example, Simple:Nima Owji (Developer) (from this sock) vs Commons:File:NimaOwji.jpg and wikidata:Q96197177 (from previous self-promoting socks). NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 12:09, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The entire RfD is going down the drain IMO but since these are global socks (waiting on stewards to block them) I feel we should close out the RfD as delete, delete the article, block all three users based on being here for self-promoting and global block evasion. Again, that’s my thoughts. Thanks! PDL PotsdamLamb (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:04, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- There's no reason to quickly close the deletion request in my opinion. RfDs are based on consensus and these accounts have not really given good reasons to keep the article. There is consensus to delete the article but we should wait until the 7 days are up in case any reasonable reasons are given to keep the article. --Ferien (talk) 09:55, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- I forgot we don’t have G5 here. PotsdamLamb (talk) 14:23, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- There was one RfD in which multiple proxies voted keep for illegitimate reasons. I guess it would be the same here. Darubrub (Let me know) 14:28, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- Article has been deleted anyway. Single edit voters already reported to stewards. Stale. Darubrub (Let me know) 17:45, 31 May 2021 (UTC)

Rollback requests
There are currently two requests in WP:RFP/R that are currently not processed. Darubrub (Let me know) 14:38, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- Just something to keep in mind is that no action on request doesn't necessarily means not processed. It often means no admin is willing to give the tool. -Djsasso (talk) 14:42, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Inappropriate names
A vandal is spam-creating accounts with inappropriate-for-Wikipedia names. Please take a look at them. Etoza (?) 12:16, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

- Yes. Yes it is. Darubrub (Let me know) 12:41, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Out of my entire time here on any WMF project, the next closest one that I know isn't even close to making this many consecutive accounts within a short timeframe. SHB2000 (talk) 12:42, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yes. Yes it is. Darubrub (Let me know) 12:41, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

- Yeah we have a user on Wikivoyage who constantly creates a brand new account for every edit for the last three years. Usually 2-6 new accounts a day. As far as I can tell, I'm not so sure on how you can create accounts so quickly, 52 in a period of around 10mins. SHB2000 (talk) 13:44, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
