Withdraw GA for Meet the Woo 2?
Hello. I was wondering if you could withdraw the good article nomination of Meet the Woo 2 that I put up. I come to realize that the article is way too complex and needs to be worked on more before I nominate it again. Shoot for the Stars (talk) 00:15, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Hi, sorry to bother you with this but I would like to ask you whether the article Interlingue is more suited for a Very Good Article or for a Good Article as I see it is a very complete one. --Caro de Segeda (talk) 09:08, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

Some words
Hello @Eptalon, You have always been kind to me.
But you see, all articles I wrote or wanted to improve with sourcing were not accepted. So many pages are here in simple English wikipedia without sources, but they will not be deleted. But Allways mine... The problem is the mentality. It just doesn't fit. These people don't understand me. The same game was in german and english wikipedia. So much selfish People. No matter what I write is not good enough for them, my sources are worth nothing in their eyes. As soon as I argue something against it, Im the bad guy and I would be banned. Yet, If they want, they can delete all my articles. It doesnt matter me anymore. If you look this: https://guc.toolforge.org/?user=Praxidicae, this User wrote in many different languages via google translator in several wikipedia pages and made changes without knowledge. As example in the romani language this user used the romanian language :) laughable. Romani and Romanian language is different like water and earth. Aber die blockt andere User ohne sinn. - Hello, and thank you dfro the worjk that you do. Yes, it is good to take pride in one's creations, as you say, creating an artile can be a lot of work. Please look at the requests ofr deltetion for what they are: A specific article is nominated, because it has problems. In this Wikipedia, we did not give ourselves the rules to delete an article, because it was created by a specific user. And yes, some of my articles also got deleted; it is not nice to delete articles, but sometimetimes it is simply easier to delete an article, and then re-create it (rather than taking the time to clean it up). Likely I won't be the admin who closes these RfDs, but I trust the other admins to have a sound look at the arguments, and decide based on the arguments. No, RfD is not a vote. I don't think you should retire from this wikipedia, because some of your work gets deleted, but that's just my opinion. Keep up the good work you do. Eptalon (talk) 21:53, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

endügltig genug
Hallo @Eptalon. Also machs gut. Ich habe die Nerven nicht dazu. Nalanidil (talk) 00:49, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
Nalanidil (talk) 01:31, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

List of hackers article
What in the world do you mean my article don't claim notability, How did it go through the original Wikipedia and not this one, It literally is a simpler version then the one on the original Wikipedia, You don't make any sense. 67.140.248.189 (talk) 21:22, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hello IP, I have restored the article, ansd nominated it for regular deletion, let's see what the community thinks. My personal view: This is just a list of names, no idea why a given name is (or isn't) on the list. Also the term "hacker" can have a very broad meaning, in which case there's no notabililty. Wheel war
I trust you have an exceptionally' good reason for removing my CheckUser blocks with "no bad behavior". Operator873 connect 23:27, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
- We ran the CU about the same time (I wasn't aware you were running the CU too), and when I checked all I found was that a page up for RfD was re-created (which imo, is itself no bad behaviour). You'll have looked at the situation, and assessed it differently, so go ahead and re-block. Eptalon (talk) 23:30, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
- So.... WP:SOCK is no longer bad behaviour? And I assumed most sysops knew not to reverse a block from another admin without first consulting with them? I've very confused and, frankly, concerned about your recent actions involving the tool set. Operator873 connect 23:33, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
- As you ran the checkuser as well, I'll leave you to comment on the RFCU page. Eptalon (talk) 23:44, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
- At this point, I need you to respond to the question about whether socking is bad behavior. In addition, I need you to explain why lock evasion isn't something that would concern you. Operator873 connect 23:48, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
- To make it clear: Sockpuppetry is bad behavior. With lock evasion, the answer is perhaps a bit more nuanced: An editor gets locked because he/she has committed multiple infractions (likely on more than one wiki). As such, if I find that editor A (locked) and editor B (not locked) are the same, this does concerns me, as it means that there may be possible harm to the wiki. That however, is only half of the truth. As the system is implemented, locks do not expire. In the short run, this may be a good thing, because you know that editor A did bad things, which brought the community to lock the editor. In the long run however (we are tallking years here), people will change; the editor might want to contribute constructively, because he/she saw that what was done in the past, was an error. But as he/she is locked, he/she can't; and there's no way to tell a community to re-evaluate a lock; suppose I was locked, and I wrote you a mail: 'please unlock me': What would you base your decision on? - likely I haven't edited in years, and each time I tried to get around the lock, there would have been a re-block of usernames. Look at when I ran for steward, last year. Exactly the same happened, people asked me about an event (In 2012 I think); they weren't satisfied with the answers, and this was one of the reasons, i wasn't elected. But let's sum it up: Lock evasion does concern me, there's no use judging a system, because as a single user, there's little hope in changing it. Eptalon (talk) 00:18, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- And as a checkuser, judging whether a lock is appropriate isn't my task. That's the task of those who lock users. Eptalon (talk) 00:25, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- But Samlaptop is a locked user. It is outside Simple English Wikipedia's purview to decide if it has been long enough to, as you implied, ignore the lock. Operator873 connect 00:31, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

Please be bold and help translate this article! The Léopoldville riots were an outbreak of civil disorder in Léopoldville (modern-day Kinshasa) in the Belgian Congo which took place in January 1959 and which were an important moment for the Congolese independence movement. The rioting occurred when members of the Alliance des Bakongo (ABAKO) political party were not allowed to assemble for a protest and colonial authorities reacted harshly. The exact death toll is not known, but at least 49 people were killed and total casualties may have been as high as 500. Following these riots, a round table conference was organized in Brussels to negotiate the terms of Congo's independence, The Congo received its independence on 30 June 1960, becoming the Republic of the Congo. Bot issues
Your edits from the bot on the infobox wrestler articles seems to be clipping the infobox off. I don't know how bad the span of articles is yet. It seems to be a nowiki issue around a pipe near the bottom of the infobox (resides ? ) which is causing the infobox to end early and display the rest of it as prose. Pure Evil (talk) 20:49, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- My Bot uses regular expressions/Pattern-matching, which I fine-tuned a few times today. I still see it hanging/misbehaving in some cases, namely:
- Pipe symbol, with empty line, or closing two curly braces, possibly separated by spaces
- Parameter on its own line, but not starting with a pipe symbol.
- The paramerers are supposed to be key = value; especially in the case where value contained references, equal signs or curly braces, it doesn't always work as advertised.
- There's a bit of magic (it expects the closing curly braces within 5 characters of the last key.value pair).
- So yes, I know the bot isn't perfect. Eptalon (talk) 21:03, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

Hi sir, few weeks ago, MathXplore filed a CU check on this user. This user is a clear sock of User:SulavXtri. If you please kindly look into this matter, it would be greatly appreciated, as the suspect is still busy in evading the block, making spam changes in his userpage. Please be bold and help translate this article! Mary Nzimiro, birthname Mary Nwametu Onumonu, MBE (1898–1993) was a pioneering Nigerian businesswoman, politician and women's activist. In 1948, she was appointed principal representative of the United Africa Company (UAC) for Eastern Nigeria, while maintaining textile and cosmetics retail outlets of her own in Port Harcourt, Aba and Owerri. By the early 1950s, she was among the richest individuals in West Africa, becoming a resident of the exclusive Bernard Carr Street in Port Harcourt. On the political front, she was a member of the influential National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons, becoming a member of its executive committee in 1957 and vice-president of the NCNC Estern Women's Association in 1962. During the Nigerian Civil War (1967–1970), she organized Igbo women in support of the Biafrans. As a result she lost most of her property in Port Harcourt and returned to her native Oguta where she died in 1993. Well I wanted to created the article that I like. Plus I'm very new to here so... Sparkschu Itai (talk) 07:51, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- I know. I had to delete the article, because likely it wasnt notable enough. Look at Wikipedia:Notability to see what I mean. It very basic terms it means that other people have written something about the subject, and that these people are independent. Such as an article in a newspaper or journal, that is well-known. - I see...is there anything else that I can work/help with? Like fixing the grammer, etc. Sparkschu Itai (talk) 08:09, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- It depends on what you want to do:
- There are pages that don't exist in Sipmle English that people think sohuld be translated/written
- There's the translation of the week (just look a few lines up)
- did you know? has a few entries that can be reviewed.
- Category:Complex pages has many pages that need to be simplified (for that, you likely need to read Wikipedia:How to write Simple English pages), and yes, we know there are many.
- Look at the links in the template I put on your user page, there are many things you can do.... Eptalon (talk) 08:28, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Article on William Smith
Hi! I don’t know why you deleted my article on William Smith. He’s notable because he was the valedictorian of a high school. I would like that article to be restored. BayPackers1444 (talk) 00:10, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- If we had an article on every valedictorian, there would be millions of articles. Valedictorians are not inherently notable. (talk page stalker) Justarandomamerican (talk) 00:12, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- I know, but he is notable in other ways, and we can find information on the other ways that make him notable. That’s why I would like the article to be restored so that I have some time to add information and if there isn’t evidence that indicates that he is notable then we can have an RfD discussion on the article. Thanks! BayPackers1444 (talk) 00:17, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

I think we have got into the habit of letting discussion pages stay up too long. We could ease the stated requirements about dates, then apply the decisions more resolutely. Macdonald-ross (talk) 16:01, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- I think we should really put the proposed system into practice. And yes, this means, that if we can't convincingly get the article promoted in 3-4 weeks, then we close the discussion. I don't have an overview, but likely this means clearing the PGA/PVGA queue, and demoting the articles up for demotion. Do I see something wrong? Eptalon (talk) 16:07, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

Computer architecture
Hi, I was thinking of making a new category for Computer architecture. What topics should go in that category? Lights and freedom (talk) 19:50, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thats a vewry broad topic, you could likely start with flynn's classification (SISD,SIMD,MISD,MIMD processors), you'd porbably have to look at systems that treat dsata in real time (no matter what happens, there's always a result, in a given tme. Have you looked at the EnWP category? Eptalon (talk) 08:37, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- I added articles like Machine code, Instruction pipelining, Reduced instruction set computer. Should those pages be in this category? Lights and freedom (talk) 20:10, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- I would say anything that has to do with designing a microprocessor can go in there. And yes, CISC vs. RISC are two common architectures. Eptalon (talk) 20:12, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- Do boot device and machine code count? I can do some terminal coding but I'm not good with this architecture stuff. Lights and freedom (talk) 20:16, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- Machiner code: yes, boot device no. Do we get the required 3 pages? Eptalon (talk) 20:20, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I have added pages to Category:Computer architecture about the different methods of processing instructions. I also put the category "computer processors" inside it, which also more pages about that topic. You might have ideas about other categories to create, as I'm trying to sort out that area (computing). Lights and freedom (talk) 21:04, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure if things like Data parallelism, Task parallelism, and Parallel computing belong there or in a more general category (computer science). Lights and freedom (talk) 21:05, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

It lacks a general overview of the pandemic and doesn't explain well enough the different variants and how useful the vaccines are against each of them, whether booster vaccines are useful, and whether various governments did a good job managing the pandemic. It should explain how deadly it is and how this has varied over time with or without the vaccines. (The simplewiki article is 1.5 years out of date with regards to the vaccines, but here I'm talking about the enwiki article.) The enwiki article also doesn't have enough information about treatments after infection, and whether cases are underreported in the Global South. Disputing your decision to delete a page
@Eptalon I am writing to express my disagreement with your decision to delete the article Yoanna Gouchtchina on the basis of lacking notability. The person already made a notable invention that is already patented. She authored other patents. There's a article about her on Forbes etc. I honestly wonder if you took even a minute to review the article and the references. I will share a few of them below;
- 1. List of patents she authored
- 2. Yoanna Gouchtchina Inventions, Patents and Patent Applications - Justia Patents Search
- 3. Feature on Forbes "Why Russian Tech Startups Like ZeeRabbit Are Emigrating To The West"
- 4. A feature on USA Today
- 5. A published interview
- 6. another Published interview
- 7. An article in French among others
If these references do justify notability, what does? I have seen articles here with few or no credible links at all. For instance, I have seen this article Stefano Bertelli. With due respect, who among the two have credible references? In the case of Yoanna, we have Forbes, Google book, Justia.com, patents.google.com, USA today etc. I would appreciate if you undeleted the article and subjected it to voting and getting the view of other editors before deleting it. Thank you. Ankoyo (talk) 07:27, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

Please be bold and help translate this article! The women's page (sometimes called home page or women's section) of a newspaper was a section devoted to covering news assumed to be of interest to women. Women's pages started out in the 19th century as society pages and eventually morphed into features sections in the 1970s. Although denigrated during much of that period, they had a significant impact on journalism and in their communities. - Hello, looks good so far. What I don't know (and where you are better qualified): A person thinking about suicide will likely not tell many others about his/her plan. Should the article contain two things: How as a bystander can I recognize that X will try suicide? In what way can I keep X from committing suicide. And second:If X gathers information before the event, are there any pointers we can give? Like a crisis hotline? I really don't know.... Eptalon (talk) 21:08, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Inform who are in need and warn who aren't
A national issue of confusion and misleading way of drug "narrating" remember a doctor is overestimated anyway and a paitent always "untreated/overtreate/undertreated/untreated" . This sector I mean health need a change of Representation. I can give my life saving way only. "Difficulty" to " Disorders" a lonely road for paitent !. How can a doctor give heavy SSR drug in very starting signs of "AD" without exmaine nuerotypical and when needed brain transmissions diagnosis. What is the highest possible dimensions to view and detect a "Major depressive disorders " in first consulting? Drug has class example here Amphetamines can be taken. How a paitent will separate modafinil, previgil and armodafinil? If needed I'm ready to discuss research doctorates, consulting doctors, drug makers, controllers and chemist all. What about paitent? Will he be invited for discussion? We are belived to provide knowledge after "reffer existing and refine upto moment" basis. Not a single letter or a font writen by me wil be questionable. I believe in my knowledge and experiences. Editors are requested to share their fair and felt designs of providing the information. Sandeep Manikpuri (talk) 03:33, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- My all useful and needed writings have been deleted despite getting my request for keeping them. Not for me but they will help others in my absence too. I am here to serve people not to please people. If you can't explain then call your boss for discussions. I'm much bolder than he could expect any one be to provide the needed only . Take a concern and shara your thoughts. 🙏🙏 Sandeep Manikpuri (talk) 03:46, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- This is Simple English Wikipedia. The things I cited are true for all Wikipedias, not just this one. It is also true for any subject: When anyone can pretty much edit any article you cannot guarantee that what is written us true or complete. As to the medical coverage in a given area: That is something to take up with local/government politics, it is also not an issue to discuss in this community. The people writing here do so because they want to. Eptalon (talk) 08:22, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

It developed on August 22 from the monsoon trough in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, well to the southeast of Japan. For several days, Rusa moved to the northwest, eventually intensifying into a powerful typhoon. On August 26, the storm moved across the Amami Islands of Japan, where Rusa left 20,000 people without power and caused two fatalities. Please be bold and help translate this article! Bhagavata Mela is a classical Indian dance that is performed in Tamil Nadu, particularly the Thanjavur area. It is choreographed as an annual Vaishnavism tradition in Melattur and nearby regions, and celebrated as a dance-drama performance art. The dance art has roots in a historic migration of practitioners of Kuchipudi, another Indian classical dance art, from Andhra Pradesh to the kingdom of Tanjavur.
