Please be bold and help translate this article! The Zaniskari or Zanskari is a breed of small mountain horse or pony from Ladakh, in northern India. It is named for the Zanskar valley or region in Kargil district. It is similar to the Spiti breed of Himachal Pradesh, but is better adapted to work at high altitude. Like the Spiti, it shows similarities to the Tibetan breeds of neighbouring Tibet. It is of medium size, and is often grey in colour. The breed is considered endangered, as there are only a few hundred alive today, and a conservation programme has been started at Padum, Zanskar, in the Kargil district of Ladakh. Request for Undeletion Discussion on Kourage Beatz NSI
Hello @Eptalon
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to discuss the recent deletion of the "Kourage Beatz NSI" page, which you were involved in on January 2, 2024, at 08:38 (UTC). The deletion reason specified was "Recreation of a deleted page with the same or similar content (QD G4)," with prior deletions citing issues such as advertising (QD G11) and creation by a user evading a block or ban (G5).
I understand the reasons behind the deletions and appreciate the effort in maintaining Wikipedia's standards. I am reaching out to express my intention to address the concerns raised and contribute a revised version of the page that aligns with Wikipedia's guidelines and policies.
I would be grateful if we could engage in a discussion regarding the undeletion of "Kourage Beatz NSI." I am committed to ensuring that the new content will adhere to Wikipedia's standards, be free of advertising, and meet the notability criteria.
Your guidance and feedback on the matter would be highly valued, and I am open to making any necessary adjustments to comply with Wikipedia's policies.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Justinbenji (talk) 21:20, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hello there,
- The page was deleted after a discussion of a week. If I remember correctly, it was a CV-style page with few/no reliable sources. If such a page then gets created again with similar content, it is likely it will be quick-deleted. Note that a successful Rfd doesn't mean pages can be recreated. For this reason I would suggest you file a request for undeletion, and if that is successful, start from there. Eptalon (talk) 06:17, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you, I would nevertheless like to comment:
- This is Simple English Wikipedia, it has somer very specific issues: Articles need to be both accurate, and easy to understand.
- Making articles easy to understand is also about explining well. We have had issues in the past where editzors tried to improve some readabiliy scores, and the article in question was very difficult to understand in the end.
- It might be worthwile to get medicine-related articles into focus, by nominating them to Did you know? or by getting them to Good article status. Both will likely require editors who understand this community though.

Please be bold and help translate this article! Timurid architecture was an important stage in the architectural history of Iran and Central Asia during the late 14th and 15th centuries. The Timurid Empire (1370–1507), founded by Timur (d. 1405) and conquering most of this region, oversaw a cultural renaissance. In architecture, the Timurid dynasty patronized the construction of palaces, mausoleums, and religious monuments across the region. Their architecture is distinguished by its grand scale, luxurious decoration in tilework, and sophisticated geometric vaulting. This architectural style, along with other aspects of Timurid art, spread across the empire and subsequently influenced the architecture of other empires from the Middle East to the Indian subcontinent. Please be bold and help translate this article! The Adoration of the Magi is a tondo, or circular painting, of the Adoration of the Magi assumed to be that recorded in 1492 in the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence as by Fra Angelico. It dates from the mid-15th century and is now in the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. Most art historians think that Filippo Lippi painted more of the original work, and that it was added to some years after by other artists, as well as including work by assistants in the workshops of both the original masters. It has been known as the Washington Tondo and Cook Tondo after Herbert Cook, and this latter name in particular continues to be used over 50 years after the painting left the Cook collection. Please be bold and help translate this article! The doorway effect is a known psychological event where a person's short-term memory declines when passing through a doorway moving from one location to another when it would not if they had remained in the same place. People experience this effect by forgetting what they were going to do, thinking about, or planning upon entering a different room. This is thought to be due to the change in one's physical environment, which is used to distinguish boundaries between remembered events: memories of events encountered in the present environment are more accessible than those beyond it. Hi we have a cat Category:Taxonbars_on_possible_non-taxon_pages that has 3 pages in it that need to be fixed to come out of that cat. I am unsure of how to do this. Would it be an addition to wikidata? Or is there something else? For example, Pseudophilautus adspersus is the scientific name of Sri Lanka bubble-nest frog and it is linked to the right wikidata object.
Ex: Pseudophilautus adspersus on ours has the same taxon bars and infobox as w:Pseudophilautus adspersus and pulls from the same wikidata. I am guessing maybe something with the Module:Taxonbar or the taxonbar whitelist? Thanks - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 04:52, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

I asked on the page if Operator had made an exception for some reason and there is no response. Is there a consensus to not archive this page now? Please be bold and help translate this article! Operation Kraai (Operation Crow) was a Dutch military offensive against the de facto Republic of Indonesia in December 1948 after negotiations failed. With the advantage of surprise the Dutch managed to capture the Indonesian Republic's temporary capital, Yogyakarta, and seized Indonesian leaders such as de facto Republican President Sukarno. This apparent military success was however followed by guerrilla warfare, while the violation of the Renville Agreement ceasefire diplomatically isolated the Dutch, leading to the Dutch–Indonesian Round Table Conference and recognition of the United States of Indonesia. Old templates
Hi Eptalon. So we have some older templates that have been deleted on ENWP See Template:2018 FIFA World Cup Group A table vs. ENWP. For this specific one, there are only two articles linking to it. The rest are templates, also deleted. It looks like they had a mass TFD w:Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2022_December_6#FIFA_World_Cup_group_table_templates The reason I am bringing this up is there are 197 templates in Category:Sidebars_with_styles_needing_conversion that I am going to update to the recent versions if they exist and I have access so they use the correct parameters. There TFD is a little confusing to me as it says the result was substitute and delete. I am not sure what they are being substituted with. What are your thoughts on this? While you ponder, I am going to start looking at the others and see what I can do to change them to the newer versions. I will keep a list of any I cannot touch and then post them on AN for someone to import them. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 07:52, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi there, Eptalon. This template has been depreciated (see ISO 639 name from code templates on ENWP). Since I am not familiar with the intricate details of this, I wanted to see if you can handle it. Per the TFD, it appears everything went down to just one template, and the rest have been deleted. They sent them all to hit Template:ISO 639 name. On just the Template:ISO 639 name en, there are 3 wikilinks and 19,013 transclusions.[1] Please let me know if you find the solution and what help you would need. Per their TFD, they had ~1300 templates to handle. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 22:00, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- iso 639 is a two or three letter code for a language, plus optionally a code for the script. IIRC, sr-latn is for Serbian or Serbo-Croatian, written in Latin script. Eg. Croatia uses that to write the language,Sr-cryr or sr-cyrl is the same language but in Cyrillic Characters (used in Serbia, for example). Sr is just the language, or the language with the script that is normally used. IIRC, we might even use language variants, en-US us English as it is used in the United states. Given how Ofen it is used, are you sure we should deprecate it, what's the replacement? Eptalon (talk) 22:14, 16 April 2024 (UTC)

Issue with wording on RFCU
So all of you say we cannot include IPs to CU. The directly goes against the very top of the page that says we can
CheckUser is the process of checking information about two or more users (including named users and IPs). Special users are able to check if two or more accounts have been used from the same computer. These users also see User agents. This can help them decide if two accounts are related in the way described above. It is also possible to see if a user is editing from an open proxy. On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked. Good reasons should be given for why a checkuser is needed; you should provide links which show the questionable edits, etc. Questions should usually be created so that they can be answered by yes or no. Responses will be short in order to comply with Wikipedia privacy policy. Sensitive information (like the IP addresses used by an account) are usually not reported. The results are not always clear, and a decision should not be made only on the basis of checkuser results.
If that is wrong, they it needs to be updated and corrected. If it is correct then statements on simple talk need to striked out and apologized for. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 09:00, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
- Please look at this policy,
- Esp the section about releasing such information. Eptalon (talk) 12:14, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
- I am aware, however, it has repeatedly been said to us to not put IP addresses on the RFCU page, however, the wording at the top says "On this page, users can request some users or IPs to be checked" which directly contradicts statements like this one Wikipedia:Simple talk#Checkuser requests "Let me add to that that as checkusers, we are forbidden from linking usernames with IP adresses; we can't comment on IP addresses. So, only named accounts please... Eptalon (talk) 20:13, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply" that you made. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 22:49, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I am not a checkuser and am not familiar with the procedures of doing checkuser work. However, could it be that CUs can look into IPs and possibly take action, but just not comment on any of it? -- Auntof6 (talk) 00:53, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Auntof6 Yes, they cannot comment due to the privacy and such referenced, however, the issue is just a contradiction in the WP:RFCU header vs. what is being said to us, as referenced. (being told we cannot put IPs up for CU against an account name), when the heading says we can. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 00:55, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- @PotsdamLamb: I understand that. I was asking the person who actually has checkuser rights. Because if they can check but not comment on said check, then it seems that wouldn't be a contradiction: people could ask, but they wouldn't get actual feedback on it. -- Auntof6 (talk) 00:57, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Auntof6 That is what I am saying. They have told us they cannot comment on it, which is understandable. I am sure we also all know it as well. The problem is Eptalon made a statement on Simple Talk "Let me add to that that as checkusers, we are forbidden from linking usernames with IP adresses; we can't comment on IP addresses. So, only named accounts please... Eptalon (talk) 20:13, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply" So yes it is a contradiction by him saying to only use named accounts, when the header says we can put both usernames and IPs up for checking. If IPs, then yes, they cannot comment on it, however, as has happened, when it goes on the board and we see the IP was blocked with whatever reason, then we know it was correct (depending on who made the block). So while they cannot directly comment on the IP, with a CU blocking it, that is basically a comment, just not said. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 01:02, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

- I am not a linguist, but likely this is a valid topic. I have two concerns, though:
- over here, no one is going to look for it with that title, hopefully there's a simpler term
- If there's on hint at the user trying to simplify (after some time), it would probably fall under 'copied from another WP, little sign of simplification'.
- If in doubt, nominate for regular deletion? (Like I did with two articles just a short time ago) - If nothing else, it will show what the community thinks, and an admin can then close it accordingly. Eptalon (talk) 06:59, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- That was my thought. This editor hasn’t been simplifying some of them. I’ll keep an eye on it until tomorrow and see what happens. I don’t know what templates they are trying to call either where it says the BIG BOLD etc. Btw, one of the ones you just deleted was recreated right after you deleted it. Something weird
This IP comes up as a mobile user in Switzerland but they have made a lot of articles (stubs) in less than an hour for someone on a phone. They seem to also be overlapping in the territory of where this editor is at, as well as following me around and working on the same things I am (right after I make a change). The concern is the IP, which I’m not asking you to make any comment on but I am asking you to look into the suspicious behavior please.

Please be bold and help translate this article! A turlough is a seasonal or periodic water body found mostly in limestone karst areas of Ireland, west of the River Shannon. [...] The water bodies fill and empty with the changes in the level of the water table, usually being very low or empty during summer and autumn and full in the winter. As groundwater levels drop the water drains away underground through cracks in the karstic limestone. Appeal for Carlo Rino Group Berhad page to be reinstated
Dear Wikipedia reviewer, I noticed you have requested that my article titled ”Carlo Rino Group Berhad”Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2024/Carlo Rino Group Berhad to be deleted. I would like to appeal to resubmit this page for your kind review and approval with additional supporting articles that I strongly believe meet the 4 criteria (in-depth, reliable, secondary, strictly independent) and demonstrate that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia page and is notable.
https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/708062 - this newspaper article from a Financial Newspaper in Malaysia talks in depth with figures, numbers and details about Carlo Rino IPO in 2018 and listing on the Malaysian stock exchange. https://theedgemalaysia.com/article/style-whim- This newspaper article published by the Sun talks about the Carlo Rino 2015 spring collection, and the innovative materials used in shoes and handbags https://www.theceomagazine.com/executive-interviews/apparel-accessories/william-chiang/ - This is a magazine interview with the CEO of Carlo Rino where he talks about partnering with Looney Tunes and growing importance of e-commerce and data in business. It’s also stated that Carlo Rino is a growing brand and has reached 100 points of sales (globally) in 2022
These 3 articles in addition to the 10 existing references demonstrate that Carlo Rino Group Berhad is a well known, popular and successful fashion brand in many countries in Asia.
Thus, I hope you would agree that it meets the “Notability requirement” for a Wikipedia page.
Looking forward to your favourable response. Allewikiwriter (talk) 07:21, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I closed that RfD a few weeks ago. As you can see in the RfD, there were few comments, and those that were there were to delete. You have two options, now: You can add the page to Wikipedia:Deletion review (that is: if it was wrongly delelted), or you can start a new page. Note however, if you start a new page, and it is similar to what we had, it will likely get quick-deleted. Eptalon (talk) 07:33, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

- OK well you don't seem to be doing so good right now so I'll leave you. But its a shame because also
- Antibiotics have no effect against viral infections and thus have no effect against the common cold. Antibiotics are often prescribed even though antibiotic side effects cause overall harm. Antibiotics are commonly prescribed because people expect doctors to prescribe them, and doctors want to help people. Prescribing antibiotics also happens because it is difficult to exclude causes of infection that may be managed by antibiotics. There are no effective antiviral drugs for the common cold, even though some preliminary research has shown benefit.
- And
- More than one-third of people who saw a doctor received an antibiotic prescription. The use of antibiotic prescriptions has implications for antibiotic resistance.
- Later on I won't have to say that the paragraph does say bacteria. But ill see you later W;ChangingUsername (talk) 21:11, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi, can I ask why you created the article, Darién Gap - which is just a copy of the article at enwiki? Ternera (talk) 18:53, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- We didn't have it yet, and I tried to simplify some language. Also, the EnWp article is much larger. Eptalon (talk) 18:54, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

So its not just copying, its also simplifying. As always, I don't own aricles and you are welcome to help, if you want. Roller printing on fabrics is a textile printing process patented by Thomas Bell of Scotland in 1783 in an attempt to reduce the cost of the earlier copperplate printing. This method was used in Lancashire fabric mills to produce cotton dress fabrics from the 1790s, most often reproducing small monochrome patterns characterized by striped motifs and tiny dotted patterns called "machine grounds". Improvements in the technology resulted in more elaborate roller prints in bright, rich colours from the 1820s; Turkey red and chrome yellow were particularly popular.

The India naming dispute in 1947 refers to the argument over the use of the name India during and after the partition of British Raj, between the countries of Pakistan and the Republic of India. This dispute involved key figures such as Lord Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of British Raj, and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the leader of the Muslim League and a founder of Pakistan. By 1947, the British Raj was going to be divided into two new nation states – Hindustan and Pakistan. Jinnah was initially convinced that Hindustan would not use the term India, since it lacked indigenous pedigree, etymologically and historically India meant the Indus Valley (modern-Pakistan). He also opposed the use of the name India as it would cause confusion regarding history. The disagreement had significant implications for national identity and international recognition.

Adumu, is a type of dance that the Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania practice. Young Maasai warriors generally perform the energetic and acrobatic dance at ceremonial occasions including weddings, religious rites, and other significant cultural events. The Adumu dance is characterized by a sequence of jumps performed by the dancers, who stand in a circle and alternately jump while keeping their bodies as straight and upright as possible. In addition to wearing vividly colored shúkàs (clothes) and beaded jewelry, the dancers are typically clad in traditional Maasai costume. Traditional Maasai songs and chants are also performed during the dance.

Please Explain This Block
You blocked I will punch Loki Laufeyson (God of Mischief) in the face for 1 week. Why not indefinite? It is an LTA, and regardless it is clearly a VOA, which I understand are both generally indeffed. Why? Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 02:16, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- Very often, these accounts are 'single purpose', they are created on the spot, then people use them to vandalize until thry are blocked. When they come back, they'll use a different account (again, created for the purpose). In that context, blocking for a week is enough to make them think. We likely won't see that account again. Eptalon (talk) 07:33, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- You might not know this, but this pretty clearly the Loki LTA, who has been vandalizing for like 6 weeks straight with like 40 accounts across multiple wikis. There's no point in allowing that account to ever be unblocked, as it won't ever be used for anything other than vandalism. This user has had plenty of blocks to think about. @Eptalon Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 13:23, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- When the account is back in a week, it can still be blocked indefinitely. Eptalon (talk) 13:26, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- I know that. However this is an LTA who had made multiple attempts to game autoconfirmed whilst claiming to we Willy on Wheels. Given that, after the 1 week, they could make 4 edits and then be autoconfirmed, I think indeffing is needed.
- As well, what purpose does not indeffing serve? This is a banned user who does nothing but cause trouble. Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 16:05, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Me Da Wikipedian, Are you aware that the account is globally locked ?, (if you're not then yeah it's globally locked
and while I do agree with you Eptalon's block is pointless and meaningless to the highest degree -once the block here expires the account will still be globally-locked so thus still won't be able to edit anywhere on that account), Also global locks don't ever expire, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 17:26, 15 July 2024 (UTC)- I wasn't originally, and I know locks are indef...but still for the future. @Davey2010 Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 18:46, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Me Da Wikipedian Admins do have leeway as to how they block. There is a downside to indeffed blocks. It also blocks that IP as long as the block is in place, as default, we can uncheck that box but it is defaulted to that. So if that is not a static IP then it can cause collateral damage. A lock does not involve the IP and therefore will not effect other users based on their IP. So if you feel it needs to be more a policy or guideline it may be better to bring it to a broader discussion than on an Admin's talk page. -- Enfcer (talk) 18:56, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Enfcer It is fine to block an account indefinitely, as autoblock only blocks the underlying IP address for 24 hours: mediawikiwiki:Manual:$wgAutoblockExpiry. Any time the user tries to log in into the account, MediaWiki will block that IP as well for 24 hours. — *Fehufangą ♮ ✉ Talk page 21:24, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Fehufangą - Your right I forgot about that it auto blocked the most recent log in attempt IP for 24 hours, but for some reason I was thinking it was the last IP used, as far as blocking indefinitely I favor that, but just pointing out that Admins do have leeway on those blocks. -- Enfcer (talk) 22:09, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- "we can uncheck that box but it is defaulted to that" - It isn't that hard to uncheck a box if you want, although I wouldn't suggest it here. And Fehufanga mentioned why it's fine.
- "Admins do have leeway on those blocks" - Yes, I was asking why Eptalon decided to do something different. @Enfcer Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 02:54, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- I explained above. And I think if this goes on much longer, my talk page isn't the right place. Besides, the account is globally locked now... Eptalon (talk) 05:23, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- And I explained why I don't think you should do that above. But, yes, ultimately it's locked, so nothing more to do here, please indef them in the future and report to SRG. Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 13:26, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
